He pulled the guy off Klich because he’d ripped the shirt off. He was pulling players off his own players. There’s a dividing line between grabbing/pushing in football and making and slapping/punching etc, anything to the face. Just how it is. The Villa players instigated the melee, and the Villa player who was thrown to the ground stayed down like a bitch as well.
@LethalWalou

@@cockoffgewgle4993 You might want to re-watch the very clear footage of what happened. El Ghazi's hand never came near the face of Bamford, he didn't even slap or hit him. But Bamford did grab a Villa player by the neck twice and slammed one on the ground aggressively. It's honestly baffling how people like you will completely ignore the proof that can be seen from the footage, extremely clearly. It shouldn't be even possible to think El Ghazi hit Bamford in the face since it never happened and we can clearly see he faked it.

This kind of reminds me of a game I played when I was a kid. It was the last game of our season and our opposition hadn't scored a goal all season. They were woeful and our manager told us at halftime to let them score a goal as it would mean a lot to them. To be fair there were kids with disabilities and the like but it's the best goal we ever conceded and we made it seem like they scored it on merit rather than gifted them the goal. We won something silly like 17-1 but I always remember them celebrating like they'd won. Sometimes sports are about more than winning

As much as I want to praise them for fair play, one of the basics of football is to always play to the whistle. Villa switched off and Leeds scored. Ok great. That's what you get for assuming the game is going to stop instead of playing until the ref blows his whistle or the ball goes out of play. But mad respect to Bielsa for letting them score after that. I wonder how many other managers would've done the same.

Bielsa is a manager who is convinced of fair play in his own way. His philosophy is so strong both on and off the pitch that he would rather lose than renounce to it. In Chile we learned he is the closest to a prophet. The things he did in here, victories and defeats in and out of the field, have been just right. It’s like he was Adam in dark. Someone’s saying to him how things must happen. Now he will Leeds to the premier league in the fashion he wants and we have yet not known what Leeds are about to do at the premier league.

I don't get it. You want a whistle? You still have 10 men perfectly capable of regaining possession and hoofing it out to touch. Where do you draw the line? What warrants a goal given back? What doesn't? Nah, it's a one goal differential with plenty of time left. The whole point of football (any sport, really) is that not everything goes your way, and you have to work to overcome those setbacks as a team. I personally don't think this sort of thing is in the spirit of the beautiful game...

The worst thing about football is the diving/fake injuries. It's why I keep it to myself that I like football when I'm not in Europe. The part of the world that didn't grow up with football dismisses the sport for one reason: the faking. If you don't already love the game, it's impossible to get past that. It's too ridiculous. And don't tell me the injuries players recover from in a matter of minutes are real. If they were, the same pattern would happen in other sports. How come in American football the only time anyone lays out on the field is when they are physically incapable of standing (and are carted off straight to the hospital)? Even guys with serious injuries limp off if they can, rather than lay down and interrupt the game. Viewers only find out that there was an injury when it's announced later. So stop kicking the ball out when someone's on the ground. What Bielsa did is not praise worthy, it's stupid. It's an incentive to fake injuries, and it hurts the sport immensely.

Am I missing something? You play to the whistle right so why did the Aston villa players stop playing? And what did Leeds actually do wrong?
@paramitamajumdar9996
@paramitamajumdar9996 4 жыл бұрын
In the footballing world, the etiquette is that if any player of any team gets injured during a match, the ball is kicked out of play so that the injured player can be treated. Now at 0:53, you can see a Villa player going down injured. But Leeds play on and even score a goal while Villa were a man down. Villa players stopped playing as they did not think Leeds would play on. Instead, in their minds, Leeds would kick the ball out of play. Now, Leeds did not do anything against the rules, but what they did went against the spirit of the game. Biesla, Leeds's manager, a man of integrity, did not like the action of his own players. So he ordered his players to let Villa score a goal unchallenged, to make it even.

@@curtismaize Generally, players pretend to be injured if their team is ahead and a lot of time is left. But in this case, there was a lot of time left before the end and the scores were also drawn. And as I said, etiquette. It is traditional to kick the ball out of play if a player goes down. Faking or not is secondary.

I recommend everyone to watch the film Ojos Rojos (2010). It shows all the history of the Chile National Team shortly before Bielsa’s arrival in 2007, and how he transformed Chilean football. Furthermore, I would say that transformed Chilean society, specially considering that after he accepted the post of manager there were 3 major social breakdowns in 2011 (education), 2016 (pension system), and recently in 2019 the biggest one since Pinochet’s dictatorship (pension system again, and for the first time in Chile’s history, could be a new constitution written and edited only by citizens). It may sound exaggerated, but I think that rebellion shown in how to play football got extended beyond sportive aspects.
