I don’t care if she accidentally went on the wrong floor ...I don’t care if she THOUGHT someone was in her apartment ...I don’t care if she should have noticed it was a rug and she doesn’t have one ...I don’t care that she was tired none of that . She shot an innocent person in his home and MURDERED him . If it was intentional or not she still did it . He deserves justice for his life and she deserves the consequences of her actions .

It's not only her receving sentence, there are other matters in play (that needs a fix), the root cause needs to be addressed: 1. Police training + getting rid of bad apples... Too much fear = Shoot firs, ask later. (ofc depends on area, the wealthy don't need to fear as much as the poor). 2. Gun control (for me living in EU, it's insane that guns can be purchased without license, and can be sold to ANYONE, mentally ill, etc.). Sure, some states migh be better than others, but how can AR be allowed? Nuts... - And this also worries the police officers (fear and itchy finger) + the police training = No one wants police to arrive at their door (even when needing assistance). People can abuse this by having police acts as ones torpedo: Call the cops and send them to X for execution. (which has happened) 3. No more "our prays goes too...". Praying haven't helped with gun control, fixing the corruption in US (especially politicans), the prison system, police training... How many more prays until a change will come? If there is a God, he gave us our most powerful tool - our brain for reasoniing - and left us to solve our own problems. ---- Imagine Norway: The police patrol the streets without gun, and IF they have a pistol: the weapon is in their car (in the safebox). Norway have the correct police training and you need a valid reason and license for gun/rifle (+ they rehabilitate their prisoners in a humane way and make sure they have the tools to re-enter society - skills/education). Imagine a country where you can go day by day without a worry/fear, no matter your skin colour/where you come from... US can acheive this (as we have in Scandinavia), only if they want to and get rid of the corruption (+ get uncorrupted progressive politicans whom work for the people)....

@@lifesabeach7416 Good question. It's not on because she left it at the docking station at work to charge. Janice Wolfe I agree with you - she did not help Mr. Botham any way whatsoever . The time stamps on her text messages indicate that she thought it best to text her married lover instead of rendering aid to Mr. Botham. I want this bitch to go to prison too but it does no one any good to post inaccurate info. The body cam footage does not exist.

Janice Wolfe She testified after work & before leaving the dept she had to log in her body cam from the shift. All the bodycam footage were from officers ON DUTY & doing their sworn duty as first responders by actually rendering aid to a victim. She didn’t attempt anything other than murder 😡 Even if someone wasn’t trained in cpr, I couldn’t imagine realizing I just shot an innocent person by mistake & not IMMEDIATELY trying to remedy my actions by putting pressure on the wound at the least! The coroner could tell that the defense was trying to imply scenarios that would contradict the facts of his findings. The fact is that the bullet entered into the victim from an angle that suggests Botham was in a sitting or crouching position. Which also indicates that he was not a threat.

@@djrdjr8888 Honest person ??? Have you even watched her testimony when questioned by the prosecutor ? If so you're not very observant. 1. She was lying about the hours maintenance was scheduled to do work on the apartments (she testified it was 8am - 4pm when no specific time window was given in the memo). 2. She told the jury she deleted the texts (evidence) that night because she felt ashamed about her sexual relationship with a married man. She claimed to have ended it but she was still sexting him and talking about having drinks 2 DAYS after she killed Botham Jean. She tries to shed tears a year later in front of a jury. Tears that appears to be rehearsed by her and her defense team because those tears only emerge when questioned by her own lawyer. 3. Lying about giving Botham Jean medical aid (there was absolutely no blood on her hands or uniform when the victim was bleeding to death) and the contents in her medical bag remained intact. The time stamps on her texts indicate she sent texts to her lover ( who again happens to be a married man with children ) as Botham lay dying. 4. Later she tried to give an excuse as to why she didn't give Botham medical aid by saying that she didn't know where she was ( prosecutor pointed out that she did know where she was because she gave the 911 operator Botham's correct apartment #). She's also on video pacing back and forth outside his apartment - again while he lay dying. 5. Her original testimony was that she was in fear for her life but she later admitted that after she realized the door was ajar and heard someone inside - she made the conscious decision to enter the apartment and eliminate the perceived threat rather than utilize her training of time , distance and cover . Training designed solely for her safety and the safety of those around her. Nor did she call for backup that were under 5 minutes away. Furthermore no where in the 911 call did she mention she thought Botham was trying to attack her or that she thought he had a weapon . It was simply " I thought someone was in my apartment ". 6. Her original statement was that she was extremely tired after a long shift (I guess that was supposed to denote some sort of disorientation regarding her state of mind) however the texts that they managed to recover show that she had plans to fornicate and/or visit the gym later that night. 7. She was approximately 30 feet from Botham in the open doorway and claimed to have issued commands in a loud and clear manner however none of the neighbors said they heard any of those commands. How is it that the neighbors across from him could hear Botham singing gospel music INSIDE his apartment ( which is true because Botham had received multiple noise complaints against him ) but they couldn't hear an officer shouting commands near his open door leading to the outside hall ? The only thing she was honest about was when she admitted that she had ignored her training and entered his apartment with the sole intention to eliminate by executing the double tap method in his center mass ( the only part of her training she managed to follow ) . I'm glad you're not on the Jury - you seem to be very obtuse .

Not to mention she parked on the top floor so the view is WAY different, the placards at the elevator say 4 NOT 3, the sign beside the apartment door also says what apt number it is and there is a RED mat. She didn’t have a mat at all!! I don’t know why she didn’t retreat and call for help and reevaluate the situation or even use a taser. Why use a deadly weapon? And I’m all for guns but she should’ve NEVER been a police officer or even owned a gun if she was that scared. It’s unbelievable that someone this scared is even out in public. Just stay home if you have that much anxiety. I don’t think she was that scared or had that much anxiety though. I think she planned this out and executed him. Based off of watching her testify in court I just don’t think she accidentally went into the wrong apt. I think she knew full well what she was doing. Shame on her if that’s true. But, the evidence shows complete negligence or intent. Either way, she’s wrong and made a fatal mistake she will pay her life for.

Right! She got that close to him while he was sitting down, he had his earbuds in his ears he didn't hear her enter his apartment or hear her say anything. She fired before he could react to stand, move, or anything else. That alone should convict her ass. She was all the way in his apartment, she knew she was in the wrong apartment. I'm pretty sure she saw that light turn red rather it was locked or not. The light always reacts to the wrong or right key. On the video when the Texas Rangers enter the apartment had to do it twice. Now her defense lawyers trying to say it's possible for that bullet to travel downward on the 6'1 man and she's 5'2,3 or whatever she is. She should have been charged with a B&E.

An innocent homie was going about his bizzo and gunned down in the sancturary of his home. What gets me - she parks her car on the wrong floor with a view she would normally not have - she walks past 16 apartment units and very unfamiliar surroundings - she enters an apartment with a red door mat (which she doesnt have) - once inside the home environment is totally different to her own? Gamon guys? I know they said the Toxicology reports said she was clean, but she must have been on something else because - whith all these common sense facts in hand - who walks into someone elses home and pulls a gun before aiming it at the inhabitant and shoots them cold ... Oh, I thought it was my apartment?? FURTHERMORE - does not lend a hand to at least try and aid the victim ... instead she is seen on her phone without a care in the world - she has to go down for this ... surely?

Yes, because he could tell that the defense was trying to imply scenarios that would contradict the facts of his findings. The fact is that the bullet entered into the victim from an angle that suggests Botham was in a sitting or crouching position. Which also indicates that he was not a threat.

Things Amber Guyger missed: wrong floor of the parking garage(looks WAY different than the third floor due to it being the top floor); Floor placards on the elevators, vase in hallway on the fourth floor (which wasn’t present on the third floor), number on the apartment lights beside apartment door, red door mat on victim’s doorstep... can anyone add anything else? I don’t think this was an accident. She seems to have planned it out. Also, when her vehicle went inside the gate, she didn’t park until nearly 15 to 20 min later as evidenced by the testimony of the man seeing her park her vehicle and get out. Ronald Jones I think his name was(the chemistry teacher and football coach). Anyway, it appears to me that this was premeditated murder. I wonder what her sentence will be. All the evidence just doesn’t help her case at all. It looks like premeditated to me or she is just too stupid to catch all the clues staring her in the face before she murdered the poor guy.

You all have to take into account that she was pretty much a swat team member. That is a high pressure and requires very quick action. Even more than your traditional officer. If she was tired, distracted and on autopilot in a dark area she could have easily mistaken the apartment. She is a human just as we all are. Now the horrible decisions she made after she got to the apartment are reprehensible and horribly tragic. She should have known better and done much better faced with what she thought was the situation.

"That's Why You Lock Your Doors, No Matter What"!!! If he would have taken that action this accident would not have happened. His door was open at the time she thought she was entering her own apartment. The door left open is what triggered the whole event. "Very Sad" However, it's obvious that police are trained to kill. That does not mean they have power over anyone. They should make that very clear in their training! They need to understand all precautions should be considered before using deadly force. Very important to realize the training is for when they are on duty, not off duty!
