Wow, her reaction to the judge not allowing her sob story about a car accident and how she reacts show just how little control over her emotions she has. She should never have been a cop with a gun.

She heard a noise in her apartment before entering. She had every opportunity to retreat and call 911. Instead she chose to enter and shoot the first person she saw. The is grossly negligent and an unreasonable action and she is guilty. She killed him because she was scared, not because she was in imminent danger, she had not even assessed the threat at that point and had the opportunity to remove herself from the threat, she was still in the doorway when she shot him.

@Raydell Dunn nope. I was thinking the same way. She stated. That was the reason she left her last apartment she was tired of the noise complaints. She wanted to be free. The neighbors said he found it funny they said noise complaints. Bo sing his praises. But didn't play music but thought the smells marijuana coming from under the door. So to confront him. She said noise complaints. How do you go to the exact apartment directly on top of your. She had a master key, that how she was able to open the door.

2525 Ethical Waves and don’t forget it was the wrong apartment! How could she have not noticed it was the wrong place. As soon as she opened the door she should have noticed it was different none of her things were there. It had to have looked totally different than her place. She should have backed out of the apartment and called 911 like any normal person would have! Amber went into an innocent mans home and murdered him! I’m shocked her innocence is even up for debate on the chat earlier today...let’s just act like a black man went in the wrong apartment that he thought was his and shot and killed a white woman cop! He’d be on death row right now! Instead, Amber is patted on the back!! BTW Amber is a horrible actress!

I am only 5 feet tall and I can tell you that by default because I am closer to the ground compared to taller people, I would notice stuff on the ground than things higher up. So I am just not buying she didn't notice the red mat, even if not looking down, peripherally she should have noticed because it was a bright red AND standing on a rug/mat feels different than on bare floors.

Thank you for being a judge that others should model themselves after.

True, he also could have been sitting on the floor so he could work on his laptop and eat. I work on my laptop a lot and if I put my laptop on the coffee table while sitting on the couch, a lot of bending over which gets uncomfortable after a while. However, if I sit on the floor (Indian style) , my TV would be at eye level and would be a more comfortable position to work on the laptop. At his height, very plausible for him to sit on the floor while eating his ice cream, laptop on the ottoman and watching TV right in front of him barefoot.

A firearm is a deadly weapon and should be handled with extreme care. Anybody carrying a firearm in public also carries the responsibility to remain sober, vigilant, and aware of their surroundings at all times. Amber Guyger failed to maintain public safety when she chose to focus on her phone instead of maintaining her priorities. Her careless, reckless, and negligent behavior caused her to be disoriented and as a result led to the death of Botham Jean. She opened his door and said "get your hands up!! But she neglected to identify her self as a police officer and shot Botham as he attempted to defend his self. Botham had every right to defend his self from a burglar that commanded him to get his hands up. I don't know if Botham lunged toward Guyger but he had every right to. Then after Botham got shot and lay bleeding on his floor, she carelessly failed to render aid which contributed to his death. Guyger is guilty of at least two counts of manslaughter in the killing of Botham Jean.
@valerieperry9030
@valerieperry9030 5 жыл бұрын
She lied when she said he lunged at her. According to the prosecutor in his opening statement the trajectory of the bullet says something different. The bullet entered his upper left shoulder pierced hisung and heart and ended up in the muscle of his lower left side of his back. Now if he had lunged at her she would have hit him full on in the chest area. It wouldn't have traveled down from his shoulder towards his hip. He had to be bent over like he was standing up from a sitting position. Him starting to stand from a sitting position makes more sense when someone is coming through his front door. Her testimony doesn't fit the evidence. Her testimony doesn't even jibe with what witnesses heard. They can hear her say 1478 but not "show your hands"!!! Heffa is lying to save her ass. Never should have been allowed to take the stand. The sobbing, whimpering and crocodile tears were to gain sympathy from the jury. And if the door was cracked open WHY did she enter anyway if she were scared???? The station house was 2 mins away. She could have called for backup but she didn't. A serious error in judgement for a cop. Too many inconsistencies in her testimony. For a cop she's not very observant. Conclusion...lock her ass up.

Then, she was so tired she didn’t realize the furniture and the layout of the apartment was different. Okay I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt on that.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Assuming those aren’t all bs why did she go STRAIGHT FOR THE GUN?????!! instead of running out the door or yelling freeze??? Or running out the door and calling police???? Or anything else but automatically shooting TWICE??? this is why there is something very wrong with all of her statements and bs.

I once did have a new neighbor of mine ( she lived next door) walk into my apartment by mistake. I had my door unlocked, she opened the door started to walk in. I asked her 'Can I help you?' Right away she realized she had made a mistake. She apologized. We had a good laugh about it. It was in the evening. My neighbor kept saying 'Sir, I am so sorry. I am in the wrong apartment.' I only had on a lamp I was reading by with PJ bottoms on. So having had this experience I just can not understand when Amber walked into this man's apartment how right away she could not see none of the furniture was hers. Nothing was familiar. Also, I would bet money that this man would have reacted as I did and said something similar as I did to Amber. I agree this Judge is amazing.

She at the very least is guilty of manslaughter. I don’t believe it was premeditated murder but she did kill an innocent person because she failed to follow police procedure. She should have retreated and called for backup and this could have been avoided. She chose to handle it herself and as a result of her incompetence, must suffer the consequences. People get convicted all the time of negligent homicide and didn’t intend to kill someone but unfortunately, that’s no excuse. The only time deadly force is justified is if you have a reasonable fear that your life is in danger. If Bo had a gun in his hand, I could see it but he didn’t. She had ample time to retreat and didn’t.

I think there is more to this than meets the eye. How does a so called police officer that is supposed to be observant to all things criminal not know her own home as soon as she entered she would have realised it was not her flat like any one of us would have. Strange how she can just shoot someone in cold blood but breaks down when explaining how it happened. They are all modycoddling her cos she's a cop, if she was any one else they would have given her life with no parole. I wouldn't trust her with a water pistol and hope when she comes out of prison they put her in charge of nothing.

"the hands, if you can't see them, are usually reaching for a weapon that's going to be used against us." what an absolutely idiotic thing for a police officer to say. If any police trainer is actually telling recruits nonsense like that I'd be shocked, and they should be fired, but I seriously doubt that's the case. Seems a lot of commenters are giving her so much credit on being able to lie, manipulate and to have the guts to just waltz into a place she knows is not hers and kill a man. I see a lost, nieve, scared little girl, who would not know how to even fabricate such a scheme or have the wherewithal to be so bold, tough,or resilient enough to follow through with such crimes. I'd have to say, one has to be a lot more tough, mentally, emotionally, and have some street smarts to do what a lot of commenters are saying.

She was a police officer. If she is what you say she would not have been a police officer. This is all for show to try to fool the jury just like she fooled you. She isn't a little girl she's 31 and being scared doesn't excuse killing him. She wasn't in any immediate danger.

@@Petard01 yeah, No she does not have me fooled. She in fact, walked into another person's home and then said,” let me see your hands". Policy states law enforcement must identify themselves. It Only took just one more word. "POLICE". Then, yeah, go on with what ever decisions are going to be made. And she had to live with them. Unfortunately do does Bothams family. I just can't see her bring intelligent enough to fabricate all this. But if she is and does, hold onto her story and it never changes, well then she might just have some balls after all. 🤔👍

IMO she made an awful genuine mistake. I believe she truly thought it was her apartment but she was distracted by the contents of the conversation with her policeman lover. I agree she didn’t follow correct police procedures on entering victims apartment therefore leading to his death 😔

HOW do you honestly think this was just a mistake?! 🤔🙄🤦🏾‍♀️ Doesn't your home have a distinct smell to it whether it's your perfume or the spices you cook with?! There's no way in HELL I'd walk in a door and NOT realize I wasn't at home within less than a minute!!

I assume the defense attorney used a 1995 digital camera so the quality of the photo's for the defense at the Apartment building would be as poor as possible in 2019. No way to make out any details from the defense photo quality. The photo quality is bad I couldn't make out the emblem on the front of her truck. Pathetic defense trick.

She's in top physical shape and she has a gun in her hand. She knows how to say "get your hands up." She's in control. And she shoots the poor guy dead with one shot. The first thing you hear her say in the 911 call is "I'm going to lose my job." She doesn't start applying pressure to the wound or start CPR as she's been taught. She just says "stay with me bud" and goes on with her call. This is manslaughter. She didn't plan on killing him but she did in the heat of passion, as they call it. This is a 9-12 year sentence. That's what she should get if the jury sees it like I do.

anybody notice how much they smile during this trial even the judge? it seems like the victim spirit is carried on even through his trial. Good people can be taken but their Spirit cannot. As for the cop she should have got some type of neglect charge. Dumb creature. But murder? Yea. She murdered. But she needs extra charges for stupidity.

Manslaughter charges are not circumstantial when accompanied with a confession...Intent does not matter unless she knew him or of him...other wise its like...re; I was texting I didn't mean to cause death while driving...I was drinking but didn't mean to kill someone while driving...etc. Intent is required from first degree to second degree murder...

WHen she pulled over inside the Apartment parking garage before actually parking to "talk" on the phone to Riviera for 15 minutes. I think she did some drugs. Got high, got lost and was still out of it when she walked in the wrong apartment and murdered this poor guy. Murderer and unqualified to wear a badge.

Eugene Larry I believe she didn’t mean to kill him I also believe she truly thought she was in the wrong apartment but she DID NOT FOLLOW PROTOCOL OR GUIDELINES she should have back out of the apartment and call for back up she was off duty the family needs and deserve justice NO she don’t deserve a life sentence but she should pay some type of price for her actions. But God sees all things he’s the judge and the jury may God be with both families and all who are effected by this tragedy 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
