He was the one he had to start CPR as soon as he got in the apartment, and made sure to tell Amber to get out so HE can concentrate on trying to safe Botham’s life!! Officer Keenan ??? Testified all that! Hope Amber gets at least 20 years to life... She admitted she went in to “kill the threat” ... and by the looks of it, the prosecution is wiping the defense!! Plus the judge has denied a huge amount of The so-called “experts” testimony due to lack of proof and just basing all on assumptions or probabilities! There are only 2 options here: Murder or Self Defense ... Amber said it loud today “I went inside intending to kill the threat!!” Nothing her team of lawyers has done thus far has proven otherwise! I'm thinking that she had to take the stand because she had an affirmative defense. I'm no psychiatrist but after hearing her testimony I think that self defense was the incorrect defense. IMO she came across as a murderous liar and narcissist. The prosecution showed that she was a liar by pointing out fabrications in her testimony. These are some of them: 1. Lying about the hours maintenance was scheduled to do work on the apartments (she testified it was 8am- 4pm when no specific time window was given in the memo). 2. Lying about ending her sexual relationship with her partner (she was still sexting her partner after she killed Botham Jean); 3. Lying about giving Botham Jean medical aid (there was absolutely no blood on her hands and uniform when the victim was bleeding to death) and 4. Trying to give an excuse as to why she didn't give Botham medical aid by saying that she didn't know where she was ( prosecutor pointed out that she did know where she was because she gave the 911 operator Botham's correct apartment #). Why didn't she do more to try to save his life? 5. The 911 call proved that she was more concerned about losing her job than she was about trying to save the man who she admitted didn't deserve to be shot. . The jury now knows that she has lied under oath. At the bare minimum she has perjured herself. If she would lie under oath about these things then why wouldn't she lie about what actually happened when she encountered Botham? The jury should also consider whether or not her failure to do more to save Botham was motivated by not wanting to have a witness around to counter her version of events. After all she trained in CPR and had in her medical bag lifesaving items which she never employed.
@dianac24985 жыл бұрын
The Deal I wasn’t aware of all of those discrepancies. I hope they point them out in closing arguments. I don’t think she denied him medical to keep him from being a witness though. Because she didn’t know if he would die, and did call at least. I think she truly was freaking out , yet was not concerned in the moment over his preservation of life, ....but rather more concerned with her job and boyfriend. Meaning - she wanted someone else to clean up that mess fast as she knew she was in trouble. It was for sure me me me thinking. Including her Rambo style approach to a threat. Nothing she did makes sense given her training, and given the natural fight or flight response.

@thedeal95265 жыл бұрын
@@dianac2498Regarding whether or not she knew he would die, she couldn't be certain of his fate. However, she knew that there was a great likelihood that he would die because of where the rounds landed in his body. Recall that on cross examination she testified that she intended to kill him and that from her training she knew to aim center mass for lethal injuries. Also recall that on the 911 call she told the 911 dispatcher where the round(s) entered his body. Having made the 911 call doesn't remedy perception because as an officer involved in a shooting she was obligated to make the call and she wanted to get her story out first. What really bothers me is that she knew that he was an innocent man after she realized that she was in the incorrect apartment yet did little to try to save his life. Why was it more important for her to have her lover at her side than to try to save an innocent person's life? I agree that she freaked out and in my opinion the defense chose the incorrect defense. I am thinking that she should have either pleaded temporary insanity or looked for some type of plea deal because she set off all the events that led to Botham Jean's death, including choosing to enter the apartment when she could have followed police protocol of taking cover and concealment and calling for back up.

If this had indeed been her apartment, deadly force would have been authorized, so it’s up to the jury to decide if she truly believed that she was entering her own apartment or not. As a police officer, she has been thoroughly trained to be observant and vigilant and she absolutely should have retreated and called the police for help the moment she saw the door was ajar and heard the sounds inside the apartment. This was her moment of choice and she failed miserably, both as a human being and an officer. The days of keeping your doors unlocked even in 'safe' areas is over. She is a cop. Cops know how to speak loud. Yet when she on the stand at the start they have to tell her so speak up. Hence moment she got on the stand she was acting to sound meek, look weak, poor girl act. Also, when women like these get on the stand and start crying you can hardly even see one tear. Did she as a cop have a stun gun? And as many pointed out she could have pulled her gun yell Halt Police! then back out slowly... get on the phone call 911. I mean to shot someone in their underwear??? I can see why they brought this to trial. In a car wreck - when everything freezes up, this does not include your mind. You are well aware of what needs to be done and usually try to correct. Time slows down....”everything seems to happen at once” but thinking is lightening fast and clear (due to how the brain works during fight or flight). It’s a bad analogy for her in my opinion, because many of us have had this experience. When you listen to people speak about falling off a cliff even - they will say their thinking is clear....many things go through their mind (complete thoughts), and time slows down. They don’t say “my mind froze....so I couldn’t think”. They actually think quite clearly. The whole point of fight or flight is to help us to protect ourselves, so if your objective is to save your own life you will make choices that are in line with that objective - instinctually. You don’t walk into danger if in fight or flight. Otherwise you would not be in a fight or flight state! Meaning - she had the luxury of time, and the ability to simply walk away from that door - or at least listen for awhile, which would have been the instinctual best choice “if” one is in a state of keeping themselves as safe as possible.” She says this happens in a matter of two seconds? So if in fight or flight .... why would she not take a moment to make sure there were not two people inside (listen for a moment). I mean no one was rushing her right? Based on the nature of what the mind and body does during these episodes her story does not add up. Some do choose to fight.....but...they will assure life is preserved first and foremost if truly terrified for their life. So if given even mere moments - they will steal them to flee or....to at least assess their situation even more thoroughly, to increase their chances of survival. The stress response is physiological so the same in all of us. The mind can make different choices but....it should always be about preserving our own lives....taking the best route. I feel a psychiatrist in this would be helpful to show whether or not people will act against these natural adaptive responses - by doing the opposite of what the stress response is designed to do.

The trajectory of the bullet showed the poor guy must have been sitting on his couch - not standing or coming towards her - as she claimed. She must have known she'd killed him - with two bullets through the heart.

‘Dispatcher asked me where I was at, I had no idea what apartment number I was at’!!! This is bizarre given that she believed she was in her own apartment. Could she not just say her own address?? Totally made up.She played god and made a judgement on someone’s precious life. Is she guilty? I don’t know but she took a life unjustly. I would not be surprised if she walk away freely!

If she walks away it will be because she was a cop ..if that was you or I we would get jail time ...GUARENTEED..

She said she realized it wasn’t her apartment once she made it further into the apartment, after she shot him.... so once she called 911 she already knew it wasn’t her apartment, but she didn’t know what apartment it was.

First of all, she looks like Lil Wayne. On a serious note, she is selfish. "I would never want anyone to go through what I went through that night." She can say that bc she wasn't shot in the chest while wearing her underwear by a cop who didn't care if she lived. She irked me mentioning a damn sternum rub. Used to revive unconscious victims per her own testimony, not a person that had a bullet ricoceting through his body.

@@stressmess3469 yes you and would have been arrested on the scene and our trial would have lasted 8 hours if that

On the 911 call play back she started to give her own apt stating “13,”’then corrected herself stating “1438.”

I KNOW ABOUT FIRE DOORS, AND I NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF A FIRE DOOR THAT WAS NOT COMPLETELY LOCKED. THEY ARE DESIGN NOT TO BE AJARRED. WHAT A BIG BIG COINCIDENCE, THAT THIS DOOR WAS CONVENIENTLY OPEN, AT THAT TIME, JUST SO THAT TRAGEDY COULD HAPPEN. I DEFINITELY DON'T BELIEVE THAT. NO WAY.
