Add a canopy to the list if you can swing it. I attended an event where some of the range was covered but my section was not and the Florida sun will roast you. Sunscreen is also advised.

Canopy is great idea. If in Wyoming, stake it down.

Please do not use a hall way rug from your house and then put it back in the house. If you have small children, you risk harming them with lead exposure. Just pay the $25 -$50 for a real shooting mat.

Important genetic safety tip. Thanks. But if you end up with a bunch of "shop" hall rugs used for various dirty chores, a rug will suffice. Of course a dedicated shooting mat just feels more legit...so there's the pride in your tools kind of thing.
