The #1 priority for me is to create an ambience with heavy focus on the auditive experience. No immersive ambience should have a hearable loop and every video is filled with recorded samples, that may only be heard just once in 2 hours. Every ambience should be as unique as possible and provide a realistic and immersive experience for the listener. Sit back and enjoy!

The first hour after my de-freeze passed only with the feeling of discomfort. It's only now that I have started to actually think again. Feels like my brain itself has only just defrosted. Though my mind wasn't actually frozen. It was uploaded into neural storage while my body was in cryostasis, then downloaded again as the ship stabilised in orbit. But my body feels horrible. No wonder Knowledge Seekers are few and far between. Still, I shouldn't complain, this is my life, it's what I chose. The sour sting of Toupmelon juice works its way through my sinuses and I splutter the vile green stuff over myself and the deck. Thank the Oe I'm the only one on board. Well besides K-40, but I still need to switch that orb online. Speaking of orbs, every now and then the brilliance of the planet Yentika Prime enters through various port windows of my ship. Smaller than Tablon, my homeworld, but much more vibrant in colour. It has a violet tinged atmosphere, with a ring of a red autotrophic life outlining the twilight zone of this tidally locked planet. Starting from a defined edge on the Yentikan shadow side, these scarlet forests, interrupted only by colossal mountain ranges, extend all the way onto the shores of a singular pale pink ocean on the sunward side. Ribbons of white clouds stream in arcs across this ocean, pulled by cyclonic winds. They extend from the most sunward point, indicated by a intensely reflective hurricane over the ocean, bending and fading into darkness at the twilight zone. Pulling myself away from the window, I feel the caffeine like compounds in the Toupmelon has done it's job. I'm awake enough now to start the decent. In five minuets, I'm fully prepped and moving. My signature green, orange and black all-planet venture suit gleams confindent in the light of the local red dwarf. The smooth metallic breast plate and sleek astro-mask keen to be used again after 12 relativistic years of hyper travel. K-40 hovering and blinking above me looks as happy as a droid can, lights flashing "excitedly" whilst the ship shudders and shakes as we enter the atmosphere. Unlike me, K-40 is unaffected by any G forces, thanks to Oe tech. The shaking subsides, the nav systems lock onto Jenopa Et, the Yentikan Settlement, and the blue heat flares on the ships heat shield subside as we start to glide down. The canopies of gigantic red Snatcher Trees rush past, their whip like tentacles trying to slash at my ship. In the distance, through the purple haze of the atmosphere, grows the impressive Entopan Mountain ranges, the largest range in this system, cloud topped black pyres of jagged rock bursting out of the red forests below. Menacing, but the only safe area to build a settlement, lest it be trampled by the migratory plant life. Cliff faces and knife sharp peaks flash by and, if I'd blinked i'd have missed it, the Settlement emerges in a relativity flat rock outcropping, it's compilation of glass and new metal throws glares through my visor. The ship hovers for a moment, mandatory scans are made, the intercom buzzes and I'm allowed to dock. "K, get a route up to the nearest vacuum looper", K-40 beeps cheerily and a minimap appears on my astromasks visor. Ten minuets and several stops later the looper train arrives at the Jenopa's main Dome. The main hall is buzzing with people of all species and manufacture. Yellow vested construction crews, consisting mainly of wasp like Zsettiiiipik, work in groups around sectioned off sites. Workers of all specifications zip around carrying tablets and samples or poking at the air, evidently using smart eyes. Every local seems hurried. That's the stress that comes with new settlements, the constant worry that a system will fail, or the funding will stop, the need to prove the settlements worth to the investors. The only people moving at a leisurely place are tourists or geared up Knowledge Seekers like myself, some of them armed. I take a seat at a nearby open air restaurant overlooking the Main Dome and order a Entiloan breakfast meal (What? hyper travel makes you hungry). I sit back into the warm never ending light of the twilight zone sunset and begin to read through the incomplete guide (which I'm here to fill) of Known Yentikan Lifeforms, whilst a 12 year catch up report enters my neural link. Tomorrow I head out into the Flame Forests, following the pink rapids and streams to the oceans edge, and begin a five year assignment to catalogue the flora and fauna of this newly discovered and dangerously beautiful exoplanet.

I LOVE THIS! I feel like I'm sitting at an "outdoor cafe" which is outside of the main cafe but inside the super structure. Much like a food court at those old 20th century malls. I'm sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee and studying software engineering. SOO relaxing. The random announcements are a brilliant touch.

I know 2,000c is fast, but not THAT fast! What do you mean, the trip was pre-planned, I never pre-planned anything. Hey! Wait! Don’t leave without me!

Finally, after several long weeks traversing the dacron galaxy and making it through the local Artificial Intelligence Jump gates during the usual cognitive testing, I arrived on the planet surface. The terraforming machines were operating a little slow, I noticed. Still, that's to be expected, as their gravitron drives had yet to sync with the planets core. The Docking went well to the ship bay, and after a short drive around during orientation in the Autonomous exploration vehicle, I arrived at the settlement. It was well constructed, I noticed, as the main entrance airlock doors cycled smoothly and I stepped into the large reception, my home for the next five years.....

Of all the outposts and settlements my crew and I visit, this little backwater, this tiny, insignificant mining colony out in the ass end of space, has long been a favorite. Being unregistered is occasionally a problem, but the authorities here tend to overlook or minimize that, considering what we usually deliver here. This place is fantastic. The food is delicious and worth every ha'aan'ik, the booze, especially the local beer, is plentiful and cheap, deuterium is undoubtedly the cheapest of anywhere we've ever been, but the women! The women are plainly the most beautiful in the galaxy. Yefim, our chief engineer, has requested permission to bring his girlfriend, a gorgeous, waif-like, wholesome girl with a desire to travel, along when we depart next. I'm tempted to agree, if she agrees to work in the chow hall. It'll be nice to have some better food on the family wagon on our longer trips. She'll be a damn sight nicer to see cooking than Hassan's wrinkly mug. We depart in three days, time enough to cash in the leave I promised the crew, and to finish preparations for cargo loading and takeoff as well. And to catch a little R&R of my own. There's a stunner working the bar I've caught looking at me.

Living on Pluto ain’t all bad. If you can find yourself an ice fishing settlement outside the big city, that’ll make for a decent place to bunk up and fill your pockets. I never liked the city much, it was littered with too much crime and corporate businesses for my taste. The last time me and my friend Ralph visited was to take that space elevator they call the “Pillar of Pluto” up to Charon to see if we couldn’t find a good spot for fishing. Caught me a few Charonian Gillies but not enough for the fee to get home, so we had to spend half an orbit at a friend of Ralph’s. After selling enough of these Gillies we finally paid the fee and headed on home, and I even brought a couple rare ones back with me to sell at a high price. I’m not sure how to end this but I hope you enjoyed my super short sci-fi story about the Lance and Ralph: The Plutonian Fishermen.

Finally. Here on X45BHI. It's taken a while to pay for the trip off of Bexlaria-59, but it was worth it to see my family again! I've decided to stay here for awhile. In the years of living on Bexlaria-59, I met dozens of cool and interesting people. And aliens, mind you. But ONE of my closest friend there is Keith. Pilot Keith. Worked at the loading dock with me, shipped things back and forth, and helped a lot with financial and moral support. Keith stayed on Bexlaria-59, but wished me the best. Said he would visit when he made shipments. It's been 3 months now, still no sign of em. Getting worried.... My other friends name is Addeal. She came with me to X45BHI, shes a cyborg. Right now, she works at the greenhouse. I work as an engineer. An announcement is made, a child has been born. "I miss them back on the ship...." I sigh. Walking into my quarters (not barracks anymore!) I look at the group picture of me and Addela and Keith, and (I cant think of names rn srry) everyone at the bar. Best friends. My computer pings. I open up the message and read: 'Hey Claire!! How are you? Sorry, we've been backed up at work, but I'll be their in about 2 days! See ya soon weirdo' I chuckle, and go back out of my quarters. I head towards the cafeteria, and sit down next to Addela, telling her about the message. Another announcement is made. "ALL WORKERS, PLEASE HEAD TO SECTION D FOR REPAIRS, ALL WORKERS HEAD TO SECTION D FOR REPAIRS." Well, that was my cue, time to get back to work!! Days later.... I look around the orange, purple, polka dot sky for a loading ship. Nothing. It's almost night. I give up. Turning around, head to the ground, I bump into something. Or, rather, someONE. Looking up, I gasp. "Keith! Dude where were you?" I ask "I was working, an alien lost her kid, took us DAYS to find em." We walked along the halls, and Addela joined us later on. We all chatted as if it where the last days on Earth. Or, rather, X45BHI. To be seen later, maybe on another space one!! (Nothing romantic is happening between anyone, everyone here are JUST friends! Mainly cuz I'm basing them off my real friends and it would be weird.) Oh and... (I'm probably gonna introduce a new character, as a love intrest for Claire ;)]

Ah, you're the new guy my employees were talking about, right? Welcome to the Science Sector! I'm your supervisor by the way. Here, let me give you three tips for beginners: 1. Keep your hands clean at all cost. Any exposure to dust, dirt, or biological tissue must be cleaned either by washing your hands or using the decontamination chamber. 2. Make sure to clean and tidy your work table after work. I can't stress it enough; I hate messy scientists since it puts the entire Science Sector under strict observation by the suits. 3. Don't accept any offer to work in Telemarketing, ever! I know for sure, that particular sector has one hell of a turnover rate, even on a colony planet.

Implying I came here as a scientist! Don't you see this 40-watt plasma rifle? Don't you see me in my plasteel armored EVA suit? I'm here for when the science goes wrong. When the scientists during a experiment ask, "can we?" instead of "should we?". The only studying I'm going to be doing is "what does super heated, plasma coated, slugs do to the hostile indigenous life on this specific planet." When it comes to that specific question, only then can I say, I'm something of a scientist myself.

Home, sweet home. Europa was where I was born and raised, one of the biggest cities near the equator. Port city, beautiful place, and a lot of air traffic around the main tower, going up and down between that and the geosync station. There, you'll find the starport that took me to the Academy and made me a Solar Expeditionary Fleets aviator. Sealed jobs like this never look like they really change from the outside, not unless you see a full hab being constructed. Very all or nothing that way, is the term. It's what's inside that counts. Back before the Terran States, before the genships and the first FTL ringjobs, way back when Earth was all we had, changing part of some city was...well, it was hard in different ways. Yeah, pre-spaceflight hab disassembly was plenty violent back then. That's why they called it "demolition," all explosives and claws and big swinging weights, and I'm sure it was a hoot for the crews that did it, but there were all these rules about lots lying fallow, chemicals and dust and rubble being allowed to disperse, strict procedures on what would be slated to go up next. That part could take years, if you were really unlucky. Or lucky; depends on what was going down. These sealed habs are different - can't do that demolition stuff in an enclosed space where you're trying to keep an incompatible atmosphere and God knows how many tons of water and ice out. Disassembly crews are who you send to rebuild a place once a building's outlived its purpose. Everything in a hab is engineered to break down and its components stored, recycled or reconfigured. Only the most important landmarks are never slated for some kind of assembly crew visit. Those guys are meticulous as all hell - that's the part that takes a while. At least it's work, and not sitting around doing a whole lot of nothing. Of course, all the real excitement is when a new hab section goes up. With all the modular construction and disassembly tech to use, the only central planning is over what a hab can support in terms of internal buildings. The rules are always changing there. What's all the rage now are your truly universal hab sections, these setups with an all-modular interlocking foundation system. Some genius realized if this could speed up construction of your aerospace port towers, you could speed up the construction of a lot of smaller structures that way. In my lifetime I bet the old foundation systems will become Stone Age tech: it'll be all about these, and the habs will be just like the city blocks on open-air colonies, or back on old Earth. You'll be able to plonk down anything. New architecture...what a thought. One's going up here at home, you can tell by all the ground traffic. It's playing merry havoc with local transit, but I don't mind. This city's ground transit has always kind of been a choked mess: there's always too many self-drivers slowing down the manuals on the expressways, and too many people always try to cram themselves into metroline cars on the same train. Everybody elbows everybody on every walkway, the tourist spots are too loud and you can never get a seat at the cafes at peak hours. Been that way, with or without a new hab under construction needing somewhere to put all those people and all that stuff. I guess we're not so different from our predecessors from back then, dealing with all the bugs of city living. We managed back then, and we manage now. It's easy to take all this achievement for granted. Our predecessors sure weren't the ambitious, hopeful types. I hear they thought we'd never get this far at all. The way that sour grapes line I hear so many of our ancestors spouted went, it sounded almost like they were enjoying the idea while they were at it. We were insecure back then, thinking our problems were super special or some dumb junk like that. I'm glad there are some human things that never change, like growing beyond expectations or having to stand in line for coffee and a sandwich just because there's so many other people that thought it was a good idea. Life goes on, you know?

With a heavy sigh, yet another crate full of biological samples was lifted from the cargo freighter and carried down to the main docks. I watched on waiting for my stack of cargo, fiddling with the recorder on the inside of my spacesuit. With a swift flick of the fingers, a green light lit up informing me that my voice was being recorder " Hello, hello again dear log listeners, this your incredible scientist Penumbra Egriss, botanist and Astronomer of level 2a, coming at you live with day..." I look down to check because with how hectic it often got, I never kept track "571! Wow, it has been a few cycles since my last log hasn't it? Now don't get mad, I didn't forget. I was simply busy with the workload dumped on us by the heads." " In local news, today was one of the slower days on Alpha-Raven with Pink skies, violet clouds and no violent, electrical dust storms in sight. There is due to be a solar storm in the evening of magnitude 7.3, so we might not communications for its duration. As you know already from either being informed or listening to my logs, Alpha-Raven is a really new settlement meaning proper specifications are yet to be fully completed. So we, people of the sciences to explore and learn, while the workers make finishing touches on the home base. It would be a few more cycles before any settlers came here for good and I'm shipped off again elsewhere. " I move back a few steps when one of the massive carriers floats by, weighed down by tons of packages and building material "You know? I've always wondered who listens to my weary logs. Just who are you, dear listener? If you find these, then I've probably been ship off of to another planetary colony for continued work. I'd assume you either a resident adventurer looking for interesting secrets left by us or a new scientist sent to fill my post. If your interested, unscrew the left wall panel next to the comlink in-room 22-A. That should suffice. Alas, I must find myself that nobody could be listening to me ramble on for hours but that's alright too. As long as these exist, I don't really care." Out of the corner of my eye, there is a flash of light cyan, the color that marks my crates which are being unloaded from the freighter. "It seems our little talk has to be cut short here. Until the next cycle my space friends!"

So the environmental conditions in this relaxing place could be at least reasonably habitable without always having to remain in artificially sealed and pressurized conditions. Well, I can't actually prove from the sounds alone whether or not the people walking around outside are wearing pressurized environmental suits, or simply wearing unpressurized garments with boots. There has to be at least some oxygen in the air outside the dome structure, because otherwise there would be no oxygen to allow for the sparking wires at 04:15.

I've been living with these Gellians for 8 weeks now. At first it was amusing, but now I'm starting to get really... well pissed is a fitting name for it. I'm tired of the constant smell of urine everywhere. I don't care if their "slave" caste spend the whole day cleaning up after these barbaric quadrupeds, I'm sick of avoiding puddles in the hallways. And to top it off my boss (who is Gellian too, despite the temp job post saying "primarily human environment") is starting to show frustration with me every time I need to go use a proper restroom. I mean, I never really considered myself a prude, but I am not the kind of guy who's just going to take a leak right on the floor in the middle of a business meeting. At least they find defecation an important part of their religious rituals. I still don't know what the details are, but the wiki I read last night said their religion attributes religious purity to those with "clean" feces. Something apparently determined by the pheromones they can smell in them. I guess that's why my "sensitivity training" (which was completely insufficient by the way) mentioned that you should never use words describing feces in conversation. I slipped last week and said the S word when I smacked my knee on the side of the desk, and every Gellian in my work sector went silent for a solid 5 minutes. I'm not sure if the silence was their prayers for our souls or a cultural attempt at guilting me into never making that mistake again. If it was the latter, it was certainly effective. I can't wait for my reassignment, these last 10 weeks are really going to drag on. And when I get back to properly "diverse" society where bathroom use is more the norm, I'll have to celebrate with a new pair of work shoes. Xalthu leather is fantastic stuff, but I bet it never stops smelling of urine after this. This job is a joke. No one told me I'd be working in such a zoo.
