My console occasionally stops talking to my iPhone. This has happened several times over the course of the last year and a half. I depress rain and wind buttons simultaneously and get the flashing Wi-Fi icon, but there isn’t a simple little button in the app that says “press here to re-establish connection to console.“ I wish there were. What a concept. So this time I went into the App Store and downloaded the old icon and it let me do exactly what I needed. The new icon “AWN” appears to be different from the old icon which shows a gear and the ambient weather logo in the app icon and it’s called “AWNET.“ That’s the one that got me back in business. This thing is so complicated to set up. It’s a shame.

Holy crap thank for this!! Mine has been on line for 2 years and we lost power yesterday for 4 hours, Lost instructions and couldn't remember how I got it back online. Your a life saver! Oh mine had a firmware update (something to do with the rain gauge) all went well with the firmware update so thats good?

I have La Crosse WiFi weather station. I worked great! Sometimes the app for my WiFi weather station having a little issues.

I'm fairly capable with computers and gadgets, but this one baffled me from day one. The instructions are poorly written and I wasn't sure if it was me or the instructions. Using your guide and using stop / start on the video to ensure I did what you said to do step by step I'm connected and online. So, do I need a home weather station? No - a window and a windsock would suffice. But thanks to you it is pretty cool and it's hooked up. You did a fine job and I thank you.

LOL that was funny, I agree with you 100% I know tech a little and even this one was kind of hard to set up, I love it and I am amazed it is still working great after 3 years of being outside. once in a while you have to clean out he rain bucket, Thanks for watching and I am glad I was not the only one who thought this was hard.

I don't care about wi fi the lacrosse I have is a POS I just want the the damn thing to connect to the accessories and work will this unit do that easily? the app you are using looks as usefull as the lacrosse's as in not at all can yo shed some light on exactly how this unit preforms?

connecting to wifi was the only thing that can be bit tricky, but I love it and it has been working great to this day. connects and stays connected.

I have been an IT professional for 30 years, without a doubt this is the WORST manual and app (awnet) I have ever used. After hours of trying to get the wi-fi to work I ultimately had to watch a setup video on KZbin!!!

The AWNET app shown in this video is NOT what is being offered by the Apple APP store. The current version is 1.0.16 and has no scan or save option! Current version is useless, continual failure to connect!

I just bought one of these and HOLY S%#@...this has to be one of the worst apps I've ever used! And I'm very familiar with IT and computer-related task and technology. I spent at least 2 hours last night trying to get the station sync'd with my iPhone and STILL nothing. I also noticed that the interface to your awnet app is different from mine. One of them being that there is no "Scan" option to find my network. It did however, automatically find mine but it fixates on the 5G network--not the 2.5G. Update: Ok, I think I found what the problem was. I have a mesh system and I had to manually disable the 5G in order for the app to find the 2G. But despite the weather station showing up on the Ambient Weather website (and location), no device shows up on the awnet mobile app.

Does this use the same security my router has or does the station have it's own security? Can the station be hacked and then backdoor my router since it has my password in the setup?

unplug it and take the batteries out. wipe the front area off with windex and try again.

If a storm takes your internet out for more than an hour it disconnects and it takes me weeks to get it reconnected. Anyone considering this, run!!!!!

@@JustADad My WiFi only appears with one option and I cant determine if it's 2.4ghz or 5ghz. I tried two devices, a Samsung S7 phone and a newer Ipad. Running Ambient Tool failed to recognize my weather station console on both. The weather station WiFi doesn't even show up on either device.

I have enjoyed my 2902A for about 2-1/2 years outside of two developments: 1) at the one-year mark, the rain assembly failed and had to be replaced, and 2) last week, the Temperature - Humidity sensor failed and cannot be replaced, requiring the entire array to be purchased for >$100. Reviewing scores of reviews only, an impressive number of reviews reports their 2902A failed at approximately 2-1/2 years. Like the great majority of these reviewers, I believe this lifespan is unacceptable, especially for a weather station in a temperate mid-Atlantic climate. Not certain if I will be continuing with ambient weather's product line, since spending ~$80 a year for parts and sensory array replacement is surely not a high-value proposition.

If you aren't patient, don't even attempt this because it will not work the first through the 74th time and you will be returning the unit in many broken pieces. They are BRUTALLY stubborn with WiFi connectivity.

Its a SHIT App and Shame on Ambient. Doesnt need to be this confusing and diffecult. I had a DAVIS for years and even 10 years ago it was Much simpler then this..

I'm having the same problem. I have the WS-2902C, a slightly newer model. I press the Pressure and Wind button so the Wi-Fi icon is flashing then open the app. I select Add Device, then select the console icon and hit Next. Then it says searching for device and shows the device name, but then it crashes. Every time. One thing I noticed in this video is that he first used his phone to scan for Wi-Fi networks and selected the Ambient network AMBWeather-WIFI337A. THEN he ran the AWNet app. Maybe this is the problem ? I also noticed that if I move out of range of the weather console and try running the app, it tries to detect the weather station but can't find it (as expected). But, it does NOT crash the app.
