If we wanna be technical, loli in and of itself doesn't mean anything bad. It just means little girl, or someone who appears as such. Lolis can be in perfectly normal anime and whatnot. But it obviously is known for it's usage in explicit materials for the sake of that being an extreme hard to ignore. Luftwaffe additionally just means airforce, although again most see it as 'Nazi' to those who don't speak German. Saw someone else correct someone but honestly they were way too hostile about it. I myself just thought I'd spread information about the meanings of each word, although, I also would assume the username was intended to be more offensive than it is definition wise.

My first anomaly play through: (possible spoilers) i found gray flesh, investigated but didn't read properly and did a surgery on each colonist with my best surgeon before investigating the flesh enough to actually find the culprit... Finally found out my surgeon infected 4 other people and had 5 metal horrors wipe my base.

Something similar happened to me. I started finding grey flesh, but before i could find whoever it was, my ghoul died and ALL the metalhorrors emerged. Yes, all of them. From all but two of my colonists. While i was already fighting the War Queen. You might think that would be the end, but i actually manage to drag it back from the brink. All of my prisoners and three of my colonists died without a chance to save them because they were in the base, but the rest i was able to stop their bleeding. Of course, just because the bleeding stopped doesn't mean the horrors were dead or that they were saved. One died after collapsing in the cave freezer, one died of infection, another died of malnutrition after my last walking colonist had a mental break and couldn't take care of him... It was almost over, for real. But i brought it back under control in the end, and i froze all the corpses of my colonists while they were still fresh. I haven't given up on them yet. I'm sure i can find a way to bring them all back, somehow. But now i'm super paranoid about any prisoners or new colonists, and humans aren't allowed to make the food anymore, only mechanoids.

in mine, I turtled way too hard, accumulating map wealth that didn't translate into meaningful firepower, making many plasteel containment units. So when I got the gourds to pick a fight with the boss, I was overrun and would have been colony wiped except I had triggered the requirements for the archonexus quest and was able to sell my swarmed colony, pulling the rip cord. So now my ragtag group of survivors are starting from scratch... again... but this time at least I have a colonist with +15 in all stats

Honestly i think this DLC would be much improved if you knew a lot less about the anomalies, like until you've researched them you shouldn't know what a Sightstealer is or what it can do. This would make the unknown parts of it scarier but then also make you shit your pants a bit more when you understand how screwed you might be.

you are right that game gives a lot of hints via popups about entities, and for sake of people who play it blind/no googling at max difficulty+no reload i personally find a vague description of encounter as a soft lifesaver to not just get colony wiped just cause theres new mechanic you have never witnessed before during new unknown encounter. But i do agree some tooltips are too handholding and obvious, esp when it comes to some semi/full boss fights. Anyhow its a sandbox game and we all play it way we desire, personally i dont mind restarting a lot (and so did i) but often those "hints" really saved some 8h+ runs from dying to bs. Im still amazed whenever i encounter something i havent before im legit scared and focused, great dlc imo.

Fahrenheit is based around the human temperature range, Celsius is based around waters phases (liquid/solid/gas), and kelvin is absolute

Farenheit was originally based around salt water being the freezing point, and the human body being 100 degrees. It's based on the Romer scale, where the freezing point of brine was 7.5 degrees. evidently Fahrenheit didn't like fractions, so multiplied things to even out. because of all of these changes, brine now freezes at -7.5 degrees, water freezes at 32, and water boils at 212.

Man... I just lost a really good colony to what I think was a glitch. For some reason they were all malnourished and there was plenty of food. Had power. Had backup wood cooker as well. Areas were fine. I legitimately had no idea. I had over have seem to suddenly starve because I kept looking and thinking "yeah, they'll eat the nutrient paste, kibble, simple meals or survival meals that I have available...." and they didn't and I lost. I had gotten about half into starflight and I was a praetor. I really have no idea what happened... but now this is on youtube so I can watch for ideas.

Fahrenheit was first. It was intended to measure temperatures that were practical to daily life. 0= freezing temp of saltwater, ie. ocean.. 100= body temperature. This was considered accurate 200+ years ago.

I will say one issue I have with the anomalous creatures is they can be killed by pollution. So if you want to research the anomalies you can't go too crazy in being a dirty colony

Does any country apart from the UK use both metric and imperial measurement systems? Measure a piece of wood or a room, inches/feet Measure How far away is that place? Miles. How warm is it? Celsius. How much liquid? Litres OR pints. How long is your driveway? Metres. WEIRD!

Canada, we do small measurements in imperial and large measurements in metric. For example, I'm 6' tall and my friend lives 50km away.

@@chloewallington7067 yeah I usually measure my weight in lbs, except for when I was in martial arts, then my weight was taken in kgs. Personally I think Celsius makes more sense than Fahrenheit but I don't really use Fahrenheit, though most of our trades still use Fahrenheit.
