Courtney, when I'm working with paper tape, I keep a bucket of water nearby and dip every piece in the water, and squeegee it off between two fingers as I pull it out of the bucket. I never get bubbles. I'm sure someone will chime in to say why that's not right, but it works for me! (Besides, this is a what-I-do comment, not a how-to comment. 😅)

Bro...Pro Tip: open the shower head cap plug, to release the trapped air and move the shower valve through Open/Closed cycles while its open and leaking into your pan. In this way you can remove trapped air that will give you a "False Positive" water test. After air is purged, then tighten the shower head cap/plug. THEN..,you can say//know that you have no leaks or not. Cool looking space FoSho!

And it is so entertaining when one of you makes a mistake. There is never any doubt that you will recover and the recovery will be done with a smile and laughter. I love you guys. Great job, crew of two. Courtney, next time you do a small mud/taping job, try adding a "hot mix" to the mud. Depending on temp and humidity, mix by adding some water and use your choice of a 10 to 20 minute dry powered joint compound to the regular premix compound. Apply it fast, then smooth and "wet sand" with a sanding sponge. You can feather out smooth as it "kicks off"... I've used this technique for years on small and larger jobs. It's fast, one day(hours), and NO sanding or dust! 💪🏻

Great seeing younger folks getting things done. Remember those days it was fun. Enjoy and cherish your time together. Oliver’s is precious, Riley junior. lol. Fantastic job guys. I always love your work. Courtney Im a Carpenter and drywall specialist here in New Zealand. When I first started plastering I often had issues with Tape bubbling. So its not just you. Feel free to totally imurse any of your precut tape lengths in water...just shake off the excess. That will help you get a really good bond with the mud. Just be a little gentle when using a broadknife to do internal corners as you can easily cut the tape. Using an internal corner trowel is a good idea. Once youve been doing it for a while you'll get the hang of dry taping...its all about Mud consistancy 😊....oh and I too...even a professional....has screwed into an open a cavity slider ...more than once 😂 All the best...keep up the awesome work 😊

To pressure test your water system in the container, you should have taken a hydraulics pumps for water, a valve and a pressure gauge and then pumped up the pressure on the gauge and piping system to double its working pressure and the locked it off with the valve and left it for 24 hours. If the pressure held, then you know that your installation has no leaks. I would also suggest doing a log book for your container cabin where all maintenance it logged in so you haver a record of what was done when, it will be use full when coming to finding issues.

If you tape corners (and who doesn't?) get an inside corner taping tool. Also, have a small bucket of water to run your tape through before folding it for the corner. I just run the length, whatever length I'm working with, of the tape through the water before embedding it into the pre-mudded surface, first tapping it in by hand so it won't move when I apply the tool to it. It takes some practice to get good at it, but it also takes an extra coat of mud because the tape-mud combo sticks out past the board surface. Also, use a large hand sponge available at the big box as an alternative to sanding.
