Awesome video. Our kid has a very complex vision diagnosis. A friend recommended Amblyoplay as an add on to in office VT. Your video really broke it down for us and I really apreciate that.

Very informative video, thank you. I have got the Amblyoplay today, before I ask my 7.5 year old daughter to use it I have a few questions. In the video you said if the condition is strabismus then we should consider doing other therapies along with Amblyoplay? When you say other therapies, may I know which one those? Thank you for your time.

I would recommend working with a vision therapy office. Building good peripheral vision and other foundational visual skills is important to avoid getting double vision. I have a course Mastering Peripheral that may help. learn.strabismussolutions.com/mastering-peripheral-vision You can also submit the form at strabismussolutions.com/findvt/ and I can try to help you find a good VT office.

When I am doing the test with the two images moving apart, I only see one, and then sometimes I suddenly see two, or for a while it starts alternating relatively quickly from one eye to the other. My eyes both appear to work fine, pre surgery it seemed my left was dominant, but post, it seems more 50/50 as to which is being used more. But with Amblyoplay I have been able to get them working together sometimes. I haven't been using it too long yet. I like to do eye calisthenics, then amblyoplay, then go play with the marsden ball, and have had good luck being able to see the letters/numbers on both colors relatively often for a while
@strabismustostereopsis77995 ай бұрын
With the two images moving apart, you should only see one that is floating towards you and getting smaller or away from you and getting bigger. If you see only one image that is moving left or right, that means you are suppressing one eye. If you see two, both eyes are on but you aren't fusing. The goal is one image floating.

Thanks, I understand how it is supposed to work now. I kind of get a bit of everything. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's side to side, sometimes it alternates

I don’t know much about exophoria, sorry. I would go to covd.org and find an optometrist who could advise you.

Very interesting. Do you have any idea whether it would work for a microtropia (congenital, constant, very small angle esotropia) that has been getting slightly worse? It's become a problem these last months for me. Before, my microtropia was so small that it never caused any other problem than amblyopia in my childhood (partially successfully treated - my right eye remained slightly amblyopic and I have poor stereovision). Now I have eyestrain, I crank my neck more before and I'm tempted to close my right (ambliopic, non-fixating one) eye when looking up close. I don't have diplopia (so I do not completely suppress my weak eye, right? so at least there is no danger?). I'm not particularly interested in improving the amblyopia, just want the microtropia not to deteriorate any further, and possibly relieve eye strain. Do you think the exercises in here could help? It's tough to find information on decompensating microtropia, it seems like even doctors have very little knowledge. Thank you so much for your time.

Hi, Thanks for the review, Extremely helpful. My 5yr old has Strabismus (Esotropia), She has had surgery when she was 3 and has been wearing glasses. With glasses, it is going well. Doctor has recommended doing some home vision therapy (hand eye coordination exercises), building her depth vision with virtual reality etc, also computer activities which help with 3D vision. Do you think this will be a good fit especially with your experience with Strabismus.

No, VTS4 is way way better. But VTS4 can only be used through an optometrist or ophthalmologist.

@@strabismustostereopsis7799 thanks for the reply sister, I can't afford the VTS4 therapy for a longer time if the doctor prescribes.But in India, the Amblyoplay is a relatively cheaper option of about 200 dollars for 1 full year. Can i go for Amblyoplay for 1 year ? over VTS4 just for 1 month? slow and consistent Amblyoplay versus fast and costly VTS4 ? which one do you suggest?

Thank you for posting this video. My 5-year-old daughter has intermittent exotropia. From what you said, I don't think Amblyoplay is going to be of much help. Her eye turns out only when she looks at distant objects. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
@strabismustostereopsis77994 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Does your daughter also have amblyopia? Amblyoplay can be a great tool for treating strabismus, but I would definitely recommend getting the go ahead from your optometrist first to make sure that it wouldn't cause any issues. EVERY single patient is so different and strabismus is a unique challenge. I definitely recommend finding a developmental optometrist and looking into vision therapy.

@@strabismustostereopsis7799 Thank you for responding. No, she does not have amblyopia. The prescription in both her eyes is almost the same. I am definitely going to consult a developmental optometrist. Have you had any experience with Brock String? Thanks again!

@@strabismustostereopsis7799 Amazing channel! Thank you for the great amazing videos. After 3 surgeries on the right eye, I am still 6pd exotropic . The surgeon says he can't operate on the right eye anymore, he says he can only operate on the fixating (dominant) left eye. not sure If I want him to do surgery on the unoperated, fixating eye for just 6 PD exotropia. I do not have amblyopia. What would you do from your experience? Should I start a VT? I am skeptical about VT since the efficacy and validity is controversial. BIG THANKS again for all the great info you are giving to us strabismics!

@@marcusaurelius2988 Hey, I'm glad you found my channel! I have lots of fun ideas for it. If you are only at 6 diopters of exotropia, I definitely would not have surgery at this point. Vision Therapy can be really effective and helps the work that surgeries have done last. Definitely do your research and find a good office though. Look for a COVD or FCOVD (the best) and a clinic that specializes in vision therapy, if you do those things you will get the results.
