Ambulance Conversion: Demolition

My husband is huge Back To The Future nerd. Not being able to find what I have visoned for purchase. MY goal is to create it instead. My medium for said project is going to be Sheet metal, the project is going to be rather large and wall art , so Aluminum is the specific medium I think I'm going to go with. Due to it being fairly light weight. Having said al that , I've never worked with metal in any way.. as a result of searches for tools , and how to score and cut sheet metal , I found your content. I just wanted to thank you earnestly for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Thank you.

Hi again Jon I asked before as to how much are these American ambulances to buy? I take it that they are reasonable to run… gas/ maintenance etc?? Cheers from UK 🇬🇧

It seems that a 25-20 year old ambulance goes for in the neighborhood of $10-20K US - mileage, condition vary widely. Also, in our rust belt states - the cab portion and frame still can rust bad. Most are diesel - which is a good thing. Typically well maintained but HIGH mileage is the norm. You must understand and love fixing old vehicles - age always takes it toll on many parts. Being a truck mechanic usually requires the larger tools in the box! and pneumatic ones at that!
