I finally got my Amcrest AD410 Doorbell fully integrated with Home Assistant! In this video, I demo the integration with three different scenarios that showcase all that the doorbell 's audio and video features. All of these occurs locally on my network with no Internet required. Not only is it not required, but I explicitly block all these devices from the Internet. The three different scenarios are as follows:
- Package Delivered. To trigger this automation, I am using Frigate, an open-source locally hosted object detection software. When a person is detected, the automation brings up a Home Assistant dashboard with the Amcrest doorbell video feed on multiple Android tablets throughout my house
- Pre-Recorded Audio Played on Doorbell. The second scenario demos leveraging the Dahu integration to capture a doorbell button being pressed and trigger a video feed with the doorbell audio unmuted. I've also created 3 different pre-recorded audio messages that can be sent by clicking buttons on Android tablet located throughout my house.
- Two-Way Audio From Android Tablets. The third scenario shows off using 2-way audio using an i-frame card loading the Go2RTC WebRTC website. The 2-way audio implementation is a bit tricky as it requires HomeAssistant and Go2RTC, the addon I’m using to view the doorbell video is real time, to be accessed with secure connections through your browser. This means you need to configured TLS certificates for both accessing HomeAssistant and Go2RTC. The reason or this is the requirement by all modern browsers to require secure connections if the microphone is used on a website.
