6900XT's can't do 2250MHz on the VRAM unless you flash a BIOS with looser memory timings. The 6900XTK cards have unlocked mem clocks and get mega unstable above 2160MHz and lose performance unless you flash the BIOS of an 18Gbps card.

Probably a difference in memory timings? Maybe if not primary, then secondary timing configuration. Otherwise there's little logic in it being unstable above 2160 with default BIOS, but working fine with a 6950XT one.

I tested about 12 6800 up to 6900XT's. But i agree i don't like the artificial limits. Just like i don't like the fact that they locked the 5800X3D. That they limit max voltage to protect it fine but leave the CO, Undervolt and multipliers in place.
@jomamabee24812 жыл бұрын
I tried on several cards. You can, but when you go over 2150 it drops your core to 500mhz and locks it there. same with all the cards they launched with limits. The first one that didn't have a +150 limit was the 6600xt, but the 6600 was limited because otherwise you could probably get close to 6600 xt performance lol same case here with the 6900xt and 6950xt. WHY ? has your AMD RYZEN 5000 series CPU'S physics scores on firestrike dropped 30-40% since Jan-Feb 2022 and may 10 2022 ? i know AMD said they fixed the performance issue from the spectra 2 fix . even Microsoft say's no need for the fix . and removed it , so what gives its easy to check if you have 3dmark just look you previous scores and compare the physic's scores . graphic's score no change , CPU score no change , but physics score 30-40 percent lower scores since Feb 2022 . was there anything to the report messing with the CPU thru graphics drivers

AMD is already getting way higher clocks than Nvidia, you think they would want the average overclocker to post super high clocks to stick it too Nvidia. But no they go and limit it so they can sell the 6950XT. I also can understand them wanting to ensure no matter the OC you get somewhat stable clocks, but still defeats the purpose of overclocking to begin with, especially with waterblocking or LN2 becoming more and more popular.
@Safetytrousers2 жыл бұрын
Most people don't care what clocks their GPU is at, fps is all that matters.

Crossflash the 6900xt with the 50 xt bios! JUST DO IT!

Do amd GPUs perform better with memory intensive loads the same way amd CPUs are sensitive to ram because of architecture or is it completely unrelated?

How do you think it would perform against the red devil ultimate?

Good question. I also have the ultimate. It's a beast of a card.

Is it possible to flash 6x50xt vbios to original 6x00xt card?
@ruikazane51232 жыл бұрын
After AMD done Intel things with the Bulldozer FX then this one like the "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5950 Ultra" but at least this AMD card would still deliver something better overall compared to that molten trash of the early-mid 2000s... Gonna wait for them to announce the RX 6969 XTK Hyper
@TheAzzzzzzzza2 жыл бұрын
Sadly the rx 6xxx series is clock and voltage locked, offering little headroom. It would be nice to have the option to overclock a little more, especially if u can keep your temperatures low

Reviewers, and consumers obviously, should push a lot harder against this absurd artificial limitations on the cards just to release a more expensive gpu some time later.
@Bularistan4o2 жыл бұрын
They might not be artificial limitations, considering how late they launched the GPU. Its probably binned dies, as LTT guessed.
@Jeffcrocodile2 жыл бұрын
@@Bularistan4o those are 2 separate things. Binned or not they artificially limited the cards.

how is the oc on the 6950xt?
@piero1307 Жыл бұрын
bad video that says false, I have xfx6900xt and asus tuf 6950xt and asus is much faster than 6900xt from 8% to 15% as minimum values, I did all the necessary tests and the cards can be overclocked much higher of 2600mhz, asus has been brought to 2950mhz stable, the vram of the 6900xt is not deliberately blocked at 2150 by amd because it is vram of poorer quality than the 6950 and setting it to more than 2100 MHz the performance decreases because the error control ecc lower the fps, they are rams that make many errors if you bring them to High while those of the 6950 go over 2400mhz without errors, moreover amd has declared that the bios of the rx6950 is not the same as that of the 6900xt, you can also verify it with mpt

@@BBWahoo No, Not all games can be played maxed at 4K or 1440p with high frame rate. So I will stick to 1080p which I can play every game with every single setting maxed out. 🙂
