Why are more people not commenting on the excellent power draw characteristics like Leo ? Seems everyone just loves to be negative all the time. As an upgrade I’d probably not do it if I had a last gen already in place. But AMD are certainly nailing power optimisations. A massive improvement.

I think people forget that the 7600 and other non X skews exist which was basically almost just as fast as the X variants and had almost the same power draw of these new Zen 5 CPUs. Hardware unboxed just reminded me of that myself and it really shows how god awful this launch is. I think its time for a lot of techtubers to stop pandering to the loud AMD but small AMD dogmatic supporters and just start calling stuff for what it is. This doesnt make Raptor Lake any less of a dumpster fire, it does mean there will be less interest in these CPUs which i guess would bring techtubers less traffic but its better to just be honest about stuff cause people can tell when something is forced or inauthentic. Nobody should be buying these CPUs, not till they drop like $150 in price. And yess i do mean $150 because you can get Zen 4 for mad cheap right now and there is literally no reason to but a 9700X or even a 9600X over a 7800X3D. Absolutely none, if power efficiency was your concern you shouldve saved money and bought a 7600 or 7700. @daunted2324 ай бұрын
It can be, it depends on course. If you are using the cpu to render videos, 6 cores can be fine if you don't mind waiting. If you are earning money from content creation and time is money, then having more cores to render with will be worth it. I would say for hobbyists, 9600x is absolutely fine. If you are using gpu to render things using a built-in encoder, then 6 cores is not going to matter that much. If your thing is gaming- 99% live content, and 1% long form video, then a gpu investment is going to be a higher priority. If your gpu is barely used, then you might want to invest more in a higher cpu core count. :D
