At the time of this video before I installed the after market Cooler Master Hyper 212, I had a custom fan curve set in the BIOS for all fans to run at full speeds (noise didn't bother me, and wasn't that bad). Is it important to upgrade from stock if you just play games? Is there any solid evidence that a CPU cooler extends the life of a CPU? It seems like you're below throttling with the stock cooler. I'm a gamer on a budget, will using the stock cooler negatively impact my gameplay? The temperature differences here are impressive, I'm just wondering if there is any real benefit unless you use CPU demanding applications.

I would say in the long run, upgrading from stock to aftermarket cooler is essential for all gaming rigs. Cooler the CPU, the better the performance.
