Asus had the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED (Intel 12th-gen only) which weighed 1.1kg. THAT is the perfect weight for a convertible!!! If Asus comes out with a " Zenbook S 14 Flip OLED with Ryzen 7000 series CPU, 1.1kg weight, two USB-C 4, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1, MicroSD card slot, and a garaged pen, it might be the perfect laptop. 😅

Your videos helped me decide on a laptop, so thank you very much. I went for the Zenbook 14X with the i9-13900H and I am very happy. What a stunning bit of kit! I almost got the XPS Plus, quite glad I didn't in all honesty. Thanks for the great (and impartial) content!

Nice PC. This appears to be similar to the HP 14 Spectre and what it offers. Pen, Case etc. Camera and mics appear good. Speakers sounded good. The numpad on the touchpad is gimmickry. Not really of much use for fast numeric input. Port selection okay although an SD card slot even a micro one would have been nice. Display is good. Still a nice unit for portability and priced at a good point for what you get. Great review.
The Asus Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (UP3404) looks like such an incredible convertible laptop with so much to offer in a small form platform that I can see a student or a business professional making very good use of this device. First of all, the OLED touchscreen display with 550 nits of brightness is a huge plus in my book. It has a generous amount of ports, has the Asus Pen included which I like. The laptop also comes with a sleeve to protect it. The webcam quality and mic array are good and the speaker quality is just okay. It's not a perfect device by any means. I'm not crazy about the soldered RAM for one thing but understand that Asus did that to create a slim product. The exclusion of an SD Card reader is another negative. So it is not without its flaws but if you can overlook the negatives, it's not a bad machine at the end of the day. Thank you Andrew for this review. It is very thorough as always my friend! 👍😁

I like the device and am about to buy it. It would definitely be a great improvement though if one of the USB-C ports were located on the left, so that one can choose which side to charge from. A card reader like in the non-flip version would also round up the package better and forgive the rather high weight.

Real life battery use? How many hrs? Whats the usual hours? Working front end dev?
@IronTWest Жыл бұрын
For me, normal use with youtube, office etc... => 5hrs. Approx 5% battery for 15 mins. Using 90Hz display setting when possible but Low light like 25-30% ...... I am a bit sadly surprised

For me, using it as a main: ms office, google workspace related type of work (i work as an analyst ). I get around 7-8hours. When I run a second screen it's slightly less at around 5 - 6.5 hours. I run on adaptive brightness, (maybe 40 to 50 percent average ) and i keep it at 60hz refresh rate. I realised that i can save more battery at 60hz vs 90hz (about an hour or so). In my line of work i don't really notice the difference. All in all im happy with it, i've had it for almost 6 months now. No issues, dpendable performance, and i upgraded from a surface pro (5th gen) and never looked back. 😊

Hello. This is a question for you Andrew and the community please. I just bought it. While it was my dream purchase, I am perplex of the following potential issues I have: 1) the keyboard left top part (around tabs, a, q, 1, 2) seems "inflated" or "swells". Is that normal? 2) the underside of the laptop seems also inflated. When on a desk, lid closed, it touches the surface around the aeration grid.... 3) I have the feeling that the image rendering is not flat on the screen, it's like a bit rounded, specifically on the sides... and 4) I am not an expert of OLED laptop, but is it normal that the screen seems a net (like in touchscreen digitizer net)??? Even from a normal distance, I can see the net on light or white background... Sorry for all those questions, but I am trying to gauge if I have a laptop with defects. Thank you in advance

Its called the screen door effect. Most Laptop OLED panels have it. I have watched almost all of the reviews for the Zenbook 14 lip OLED. No reviewers have mentioned it which is disappointing! But, almost all of the consumer reviews have mentioned the problem. Go with a laptop equipped with an IPS panel if it is unbearable.
@IronTWest Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply @@mohammedrakib3736 After some checks and researches, I can indeed confirm that my issues 3 and 4 above are linked to Oled touchscreen. And problem 1) is also very common.

The net is not normal for AMOLED screens like on my Samsung. The inflated battery is a hazard, fire hazard. Return the laptop ASAP.
@IronTWest11 ай бұрын
@@fenriswolf-always-forward Thanks. I did it. More than anything, the display was not flat so it was a big issue for me. I instead took a IPS laptop

I bought it 1.5 months ago, all great except the screen. I see a touch screen mesh (dot pattern) that is obstructing clarity. You did not mention that in your review, yours doesn't have it? I have the 3402 also and that one doesnt have it!
@IronTWest Жыл бұрын
Hi, do you mean a screen mesh like a "net"? If yes, I have it. I just posted a question here today because I am not sure if it is normal or not for OLED screens... I moved from a cheap laptop so maybe I am not up to date on the latest of technology ....

Also,with my architectural work and video editing and also it should have a long lasting battery if possible. It's better if it's 360 degrees flexible and portable.
