Күн бұрын

Amelia Elizabeth Dyer was an English serial killer who murdered infants in her care over a thirty-year period during the Victorian period of the United Kingdom. In this Absolute crime original we see how Amelia used alias and addresses to avoid detection for many years. Originally she trained as a nurse and was widowed in 1869. Dyer turned to baby farming. The practice of adopting unwanted infants in exchange for money. She would take a baby for £5 and act like she was going to raise the child but instead kill them.

No. Lack of boundaries and knowledge of Self leads to mindless sexual acts and unwanted pregnancies. Humanity has been programmed into becoming mere walking limbic systems. We have higher mind functions and the time has come for humanity to evolve or expire.

I have always wondered why she didn’t use the excuse that she was killing the babies in order to save them from suffering of starvation, abuse, neglect and the shame put upon them from a society that viewed illegitimate children as bastards and not worthy of anyone’s pity. She may have been cunning but she just wasn’t smart enough to use the state of cruel and heartless treatment towards orphaned, illegitimate or abandoned children in her favour. And she was not the only one guilty of the heartless inaction when it was commonplace for these starving and desperate children to be ignored by the countless many that walked past them daily without so much as a glance in their direction. And if we wonder how she came to be so cruel, we only have to remember that society just made it so darn easy for her and were just as responsible for her actions because she wasn’t a master criminal and plenty of people either knew what she was doing or at least had their suspicions.

Because the why doesn’t matter if she’s a baby killer for profit. Meaning, she was deceiving women out of money in exchange for the murder of their babies.

This is a prime example of how this kind of sociopath is enabled by the society around them. If there wasn’t stigma around unmarried mothers, if abortion and birth control were legal, if there were social services, Amelia would not have been able to do this.

Yep I’m from Memphis Tennessee USA and we had the god mother of adoption and she did much the same thing steal and take in babies from young unwed mothers and those that were easily adopted she did but those who were deemed unadoptable they were left it cots exposed to the elements or suffocation by a pillow it’s sick and sad to think of a young mother trying to give her child the best life possible and trusting some one to do right by the baby to this day they still don’t know how many babies were stolen and killed or stolen and adopted

Thanks for this series.👍 It's so interesting learning about these women & why they killed, especially in the 19 century. Life was cheap & choices were desperate & unthinkable! I can imagine that circumstances led to a cold heart & just a primal instinct to survive but killing babies...? Thats absolutely calculating & sick!!

I am going to support all women, found pregnant, in this time, something I see wanting. These poor women. Where is the sympathy? As it is still, today, sadly, where does the man/father go? He took/takes what he wants and then dissappears. Not held responsible in any way. Until men are legally responsible for both unborn and born children, these poor women will continue to exist. No man should have an opinion!
