I saw in another video that before they separated the sisters in prison, Christine ran towards Leah screaming "Just kiss me one more time, just one more time" and Leah was like, trying to get away from her and wouldn't. Sounds to me, with the age gap between them, Christine DEFINTIELY groomed Leah. EDIT: Upon looking it up, no Christine didn't beg Leah to kiss her, what she actually did was unbutton her blouse and begged, "Say yes, please!" 🤨

Fun fact about Dr Guillotin, a physician who championed the device for executions. He actually opposed the death penalty. He thought by making execution as quick and painless as possible would be the first step towards abolishing it. He also thought it would decrease public interest in executions. He miscalculated on a rather massive level and later in life deeply regretted advocating for the device.
@ohblondishone2 жыл бұрын
I basically came here to say this! Haha...May I add that even though it turned out not to be the amazing, it is still to this day viewed the most humane way to be executed, basically because of its speed and almost impossibility of messing it up.

Fun fact that I found really interesting: they were diagnosed with shared delusional disorder (also known as folie à deux), where two or more people are together so much that they can start forming the same delusion, and there's a couple different ways this can happen! In this particular case it's likely that they experienced "folee imposée" where the dominant person in the relationship (Christine) imposes a delusion that their mind has formed on another person known as the acceptor (Lea). Lea most likely did better on her own when separated from her sister because she never actually had the delusion when left to her own devices - it was only formed because Christine imposed it on her.

Actually, this case is one of the first recorded case of "folie à deux" "madness at two" where a dominant personality (Christine) has a control over a dominated personality (Léa), whom they protect at all cost, in exchange they feel emboldened by the complete authority they have over the dominated personality, whom is so blinded that they don't know (and sometimes don't want to) get out of the relationship. Folie imposée Where a dominant person (known as the 'primary', 'inducer' or 'principal') initially forms a delusional belief during a psychotic episode and imposes it on another person or persons (the 'secondary', 'acceptor', or 'associate') with the assumption that the secondary person might not have become deluded if left to his or her own devices. If the parties are admitted to hospital separately, then the delusions in the person with the induced beliefs usually resolve without the need of medication.

Their lives began with their father molesting them, for which they were put into a strict orphanage. Then they were abused as servants/modern slaves. And then, very “unexpectadly”, they just snapped… Sure, many people lived a life like that without “snapping”, but to be honest, that’s what amazes me more than someone who actually goes crazy for being abused the whole life. Which does not apologize their behavior, it’s just that they did not have the best of chances for a decent life 🙄🙄. The rules where servants couldn't speak out were not uncommon during this era, and the working hours were very cruel, since they had to work from before breakfast service to after dinner. This is also why rich kids were taught "table manners". The purpose of the strict rules about cutlery was (still is!) so rich people didn't have to say a word to someone beneath them. Coming from a psychology perspective I think it's interesting to consider the concept of nature Vs nurture here. Fun fact about the guillotine!!! If there were many beheadings in one day the blade would become dull by basically the third person, so the people who were going to be beheaded actually fought to be the first in line so that it was one swift slice and not many because if it didn’t go all the way through they would have to redo it until full beheading happened 😌

Another fun fact: being first didn't necessarily do you many favors either, since if you were successfully sliced quickly, your head would stay conscious for a few seconds AFTER it fell into the basket -- people present would shout your name right after you dropped to try to make your eyes look at them.... which they often would. 😳

Interesting idea, given they attacked the two women's eyes. What if the mother was mad ofc cause 'wow lazy' but the mother and daughter walked in on them doing not sister things? Then the attacked happened, the eye gouging happens as if to either erase what they saw or punish them for seeing it? Then seeing how helpless they are decided to torture them as revenge for their suffering. That could just be my speculation tho, it just seems oddly specific that they'd go for the eyes.

I actually love your idea that Leah was actually the puppet master. Starving yourself because you're separated from your sister?
