I had no idea these things were so expensive. I found two of the big ones, and one just like you've got, in a dumpster last year. Fully charged. The little one now lives in my kitchen, the others in my shop.

Wow, whoever threw them away in a dumpster like that -- fully charged and all -- deserves to be hit over the head with those extinguishers. Not only is that wasteful, but that could have been dangerous when they would have been packed in the garbage truck and ruptured.

Hello, I am so glad that you are telling people about these. I wanted to bring to your attention to some ideas. The extinguisher that you are showing is the Amerex B456 Amerex also makes a 441 this is a Brass assembly for the valve this is a heavier duty if the extinguisher is going to be shifted around in a truck etc.There are several different types ABC all purpose extinguisher. BC dry chemical for Flammable liquids and live electrical equipment. The test requirements is a 6 year tear down from the manufacture date on the extinguisher on the label. The extinguisher is emptied and the interior is checked and new dry chemical is then put in. A 12 year test is a Hydro Test this is where the extinguisher is emptied and then pressurized over the charged rate to make sure the cylinder is in good shape. When this test is done and it passes the extinguisher date starts as if it is a new extinguisher. When you say DRY please say dry chemical.

I have had one of these next to every new aircraft engine I ever started for the first time. Fortunately I have never needed to use it yet!

Oomph, if you ever do, that aircraft is going to need a full teardown to become airworthy again. ABC dry chemical will not be kind to metals.

@@djo9c1 Niether is fire! Fortunately next to engines my next favorite thing to do is sheetmetal. I have repaired several wrecks, but once on fire after a wreck not much is left but ruined engine/prop, and maybe steel landing gear components. I am good with that ending if the occupants exited before the fire.

Thank you so so so much for recommending a high-quality extinguisher in my opinion Amerex is the best fire extinguisher manufacturer and a 10 lbs. five extinguisher is so much better than a 2 pound extinguisher amerex extinguishers are very durable and will last A lifetime also dropping the extinguisher probably will not do anything because it is such high-quality but the cheap extinguishers at Walmart some of them even made of plastic handles will probably explode

What is inside? Like a powder or water? You've kind of mentioned powder, but I didn't 10% get )) Another question. What is the minimum temperature? Can I live it in my car with -30C?

It's a dry powder that melts and smothers when sprayed on a fire. It is propelled by nitrogen at 200 PSI don't ever let a fire extinguisher get Rusty.
