I always did like America's music. When "Sister Golden Hair" came out, I was singing right along with the song while hanging around some buddies of mine who were also Black. They said: "William you like this stuff?" I said: "You guys need to educate yourselves. Great music is neither black, white or brown. It's just great music!" I have America's Greatest Hits CD and Daisy Jane is one of my favorites.

William Jones Made me smile William. In 1979 I was in the Air Force in Florida and 3 black friends of mine and I rented a Camaro and headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Well, the radio wasn't working so we took turns singing "black" and "white" songs. By the time we got there, they were singing Carry On Wayward Son, and I was singing Love Don't Live Here Anymore :)

Several years ago I drove thru my old neighborhood and it's practically unrecognizable. The church my mother and daddy and I attended for the first 17 years of my life was demolished to make way for parking and shopping. Those places were not just part of my childhood but also part of me. I miss all of it.

I was stationed at Naval Air Station Alameda in California back in 1988 and me and a few of my Sailor buddies went to a Karaoke Bar. Now I went as the Designated Driver because I don't drink but my three other buddies did so they asked me to come with them. There was a Karaoke Contest going on and they joked that I should go up on stage and enter. So I called their bluff and went up on stage. I'm sure the audience thought I was going to sing a Motown or an R&B classic but I wish you could have seen their faces when I cued up "Daisy Jane"😯😆 You could have heard a Fly walking on Cotton as the music started and I started to sing the lyrics. When I got to the end, the audience was still silent until they ALL stood up in unison and gave me a standing ovation!😄

Spring/Summer 1975 Listening to this simple beautiful song on AM radio on the way to work at the job I'd retire from 33 plus years later, had just broken up with my first love so this song invoked tears that would eventually heal the heart as I reveled in my youth. Now still evokes tears not of heartbreak but of that lost youth which I then took for granted but now cherish. I was older then I'm younger now.

When this song came out things were much easier, people were real and didn't play games with each other's hearts. There was more to boy girl relationships than sex, and people didn't only think of themselves. O how I miss those day's when you could go out with a young lady and not wonder what she was after. The biggest thing missing in the world today is morality.

@SeaMe When I say morality, that's what I mean. I'm a minister of the Gospel, and I've learned over time to get people to thinking. Like what is different now, compared to the past. Sometimes people won't take the truth straight forward, though there is a time for that. Sometimes there's a place for subtlety.

This group. I cannot describe in words how beautiful and wonderful the music was and is that they made. I mean, a message, lyrics you can understand and just a pure joy to listen to. I just listen to songs like this over and over and over.

A forgotten song, but so glad I found it again. The music to this song, is one of the best that I have ever heard. There is a calming rhythm to it. Just love it!! :)

Can it really be 33 years since this was me, Summer of '88, trying to find my way in Memphis. It didn't work out, but my God, I was only 27 and it feels like yesterday. If I could go back now...

One cannot say enough about the timelessness of the music by America! Just truly one of the greatest bands EVER!!!! I said it before and I will continue saying it as I listen to their music, along with Bread and other incredible groups of the 70's era. Some of the music today belongs in the garbage!
