In all truth, Hitler was screwed the moment he attacked Russia. He opened a war on two fronts and was counting on having beaten the British with the bombings of London, but it instead served to only motivate them to beat him back even harder. By opening an unnecessary war with the Soviet Union, he needlessly divided his resources, men, and attention. Not to mention his strategy of _blitzkrieg,_ which depends on lightning quick assaults, fast victories, and building up momentum, was completely fucked by the harsh Russian winters that halted said momentum, and later by Stalin's "scorched earth" policy, where any retreating Soviets burned anything- vehicles, materials, housing, oil, et cetera- that might have been of use to the Germans, denying Hitler's men the opportunity to scavenge supplies from the enemy. Then, to top it all off, after the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor and America declares war on Japan, he's bound by the Tripartite Pact to do the same to America, as is Italy, sending America to Europe, which is exactly what he didn't want. Germany's surprise invasion and attack on Russia, as effective as it initially was to start, ended up being the turning point that caused Hitler to eventually go from an offensive war to a defensive one.

81 years later, I used this video to declare war on my girlfriend/fiance (or break up with her) Yesterday, December 14, 2022 -- a date which will live in infamy -- Sagar was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of his girlfriend. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, Sagar in His righteous might will win through to absolute victory. I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the family when I assert that we will not only defend myself to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us. Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger. With confidence in our armed forces- with the unbounding determination of our people- we will gain the inevitable triumph- so help us God.

You forget that 70,000 Americans were battling the Japanese on land in the Philippines the very minute this speech was made.

Nowadays, Congress would boo this speech if the president was of a different political party to that in control of the chambers.

That wasn't the issue. The real issue is that Stalin kicks on overdrive when he realises he doesn't have to worry about japan

@@tk-6967 Or even then WHY ON EARTH GERMAN DECLARE WAR ON US when they don't have to in the 1st place
@tk-69676 ай бұрын
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 true that was stupid. Germany had already bitten off more than they could chew but declaring war on the US made everything way worse. Perhaps they believed that because the US military was extremely unimpressive and pretty weak that they would not pose a serious threat, but the military industrial complex kicked in and they got fucked.
