In all truth, Hitler was screwed the moment he attacked Russia. He opened a war on two fronts and was counting on having beaten the British with the bombings of London, but it instead served to only motivate them to beat him back even harder. By opening an unnecessary war with the Soviet Union, he needlessly divided his resources, men, and attention. Not to mention his strategy of _blitzkrieg,_ which depends on lightning quick assaults, fast victories, and building up momentum, was completely fucked by the harsh Russian winters that halted said momentum, and later by Stalin's "scorched earth" policy, where any retreating Soviets burned anything- vehicles, materials, housing, oil, et cetera- that might have been of use to the Germans, denying Hitler's men the opportunity to scavenge supplies from the enemy. Then, to top it all off, after the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor and America declares war on Japan, he's bound by the Tripartite Pact to do the same to America, as is Italy, sending America to Europe, which is exactly what he didn't want. Germany's surprise invasion and attack on Russia, as effective as it initially was to start, ended up being the turning point that caused Hitler to eventually go from an offensive war to a defensive one.

Wars are technical and more direct towards opposition now. Like when Trump sent drones to take out the general from Iran… it should have always been this way, but it took millions of lives and massive technological advancements to achieve avoidance of great wars between nations. Whoever has wars within political regimes nowadays will have to deal with the consequences themselves.

I find it interesting that a lot of people dont know why japan attacked at pearl harbor. They didnt just do it for no reason. We definitely did a few things beforehand that rubbed them the wrong way. I'm not justifying the attack, but it's interesting to put yourself in their shoes and "understand" why they did.

I find it interesting that you didn't bring up why we "rubbed them wrong" in the first place. Look up the Rape of Nanking. There's plenty more atrocities, but that's the most famous Japan committed during their Colonial rule of the Pacific in the 1930s and '40s

The country has always gone through phases with waning levels of national unity. Being attacked by a foreign adversary always tends to put the internal shit to the side. Surely you must remember post 9/11 America.

81 years later, I used this video to declare war on my girlfriend/fiance (or break up with her) Yesterday, December 14, 2022 -- a date which will live in infamy -- Sagar was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of his girlfriend. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, Sagar in His righteous might will win through to absolute victory. I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the family when I assert that we will not only defend myself to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us. Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger. With confidence in our armed forces- with the unbounding determination of our people- we will gain the inevitable triumph- so help us God.

I remember siting in class 7th grade at 8:15 when another teacher came in on Sept. 11th She made everyone quiet and told us what just happened. For the first and only time our teacher turned the radio on and let it play out. I remember sharply that something was really wrong because my dad had told me the only time they ever played the radio in class was the day JFK was shot. Not ever kid knew, but I knew something was very wrong. My mom picked me and my sister up from school that day, normally we would have walked home. My dad was a journalist, so he was very busy that day. My mom let us stay up until 11:30 when my dad finally got home ... both my sister and I hugged his legs and my sister said "daddy, are we going to war?" He knelt down and looking back I know he wanted to say No ... but he hugged us both and said "I don't know sweetie, but whatever happens, we're going to be okay." I have a daughter now, I can't imagine the fear my mom and dad must have felt that terrible day
