This is Eagle Prime, America's entrant into the Giant Robot Duel, in its first-ever live-fire combat trial. Eagle Prime is the first MK3-class MegaBot from MegaBots, Inc. It weighs in at 12 tons, stands 16 feet tall, seats two, is powered by a 430 horsepower V8 LS3 engine, and costs a cool $2.5M. Cupholders come standard.
Eagle Prime will be representing Team USA in the upcoming Giant Robot Duel against Suidobashi Heavy Industry. Subscribe to this channel to watch the Duel!

and for megabot teams, please read my comment. with you releasing this video, you accidentaly gives suidobashi a step ahead. since they could assest your mech robot capability using this video robot (well not all of it, but generaly) and they could make a plan how to beat you from this video assestment. note : please forgive me for my poor grammar.
@zyphier
@zyphier 6 жыл бұрын
Well one would think if Suidobashi was building a custom model to take on the Megabot they would do the honorable thing, and release a similar demonstration of there bot. Plus Team USA has released videos since the kick starter detailing every aspect of making their bot...so it isn't like they haven't had info. Plus the Kuratas has all of it's specs, and details publicly available to the open public. If anything the question is which of the load outs that Suidobashi makes for their bot will they bring.

They have a lot more tech than what they're showing off here... essentially what Megabots has shown us is an auto cannon, and Melee, as well as some of the precision of the weaponry. What we haven't seen, are all the other goodies we know they were talking about such as paint rocket pods and various other items.
@TheJamesFez
@TheJamesFez 6 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you there, while I praise Megabots and their work, there are a few tactical options that Kuratas could use to win the day. It all depends on their robot and what they have built.

Actually, the last official announcement was that it would be in August, which has officially come. Doesn't mean it'll happen this month, but that was the last official plan. Considering the complete communication silence from Suidobashi, my guess is they either backed out, or Megabots and Suidobashi are hashing out legal details.

I have a feeling that that's not top speed, and that the miss was choreographed. This is most likely not the best the robot is capable of, just so that the competition underestimates them, at least a little. That being said, I don't think it's going to go 90 miles an hour and move unrealistically fast or have an emp grenade. Awesome cinematic, and can't wait to see more. Don't know if America will win the fight, but it will definitely be awesome for the viewers, and lead to some interesting (expensive) improvements afterwards. This is the future and it's insane these guys are making an awesome dream/hobby turn into a business, that may even profit in the future. Great work and can't wait to see your next version, and updates in the future. (As well as the awesome robot fight coming soon)

I just realized something no one is talking about... if its a 2 person mech, than they won't be in sync, and may have some delays, especially if the arm controller plans to do some quick shot to turn the battle around and can't tell the other in the heat of the battle, so the other is slightly delayed, IF the controls are 1 moves arms and other has shooting capabilities. Unless they pull some Pacific Rim stuff this is a serious flaw
@anarchyandempires5452
@anarchyandempires5452 6 жыл бұрын
Eliter 147 you don't know how weapons systems work do you? Plenty of good reasons for having two crewmen if there weren't why do you think atack helicopters use this same piloting doctrine? One pilots the other shoots that way you don't smash into a wall while focusing on the enemy.
@eliter1474
@eliter1474 6 жыл бұрын
I know this, I just feel like one of them has control of the arm, which is basically the aim mechanism with arm mounted weaponry and the other controls the weapons, the guy in the front seems control both movement and the arms, implying the other controls the fire button, but if one controls the movement, the other has the fire button it means the fire button guy doesn't have full controls of the aiming and weapon, so in my earlier statement, he could press a second too late after the other guy aims for him (yes I'm calling him the fire button guy)... I got this throughout the video when they did this, I'm not shaming them, just asking
@anarchyandempires5452
@anarchyandempires5452 6 жыл бұрын
Eliter 147 that's called redundancy both pilots likely have full control of the MECH but simply alternate their jobs depending on the state, so no the guy that controls the arms likely has control over all primary and secondary fire mechanisms as well as their triggers and the upper rotation of the Mk3 the other guy likely controls the movement of the mk3's lower body as well as the haidrolic systems and engine output.
@eliter1474
@eliter1474 6 жыл бұрын
Alright. Thanks for the explanation, but think about this, what if Kuratas brings a forklift meant to go really fast and tipped over the mark 3. It'd be real anticlimactic... and their redundancy probably wont help in that scenario. ;)

Just so you all know, the US made a massive working construction mech far before japan ever did. Its called the Beetle. It weighed 77 tons. And it was made in 1958. thearmoredpatrol.com/2017/09/10/and-now-for-something-completely-different-the-beetle/#more-56227 cyberneticzoo.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/USAF-beetle-robot-x640.jpg kotaku.com/the-real-metal-gear-5556757

I feel you! I also have been waiting for 2 years. And with the way they're very silent now makes me feel this will not push through. They could at least give us a weekly update on the progress and cause of delays.

KRi Pler If it makes any of you feel better, I follow them on Facebook and Kurata arrived at the fight area a week and a half ago. It'll take a bit to upload, but it'll be worth seeing in the end. Just wait for the fight happen. It'll probably be on the recommended section of KZbin with one and a half million views anyway.

Just because you like Japanese cartoons doesn't mean japan will win. This is a contest between engineering. And if the Japan mech is anything like its previous addition in terms of size it's going to get its lanky ass handed to it.

How would u know its fast if u didn't see the video?! Unless u read something wrong... But yeah, in the Kuratas display video it is showcased as fast, though it looks sped up, so yeah. Slow Kurata fantasized to have good speed. In my earlier comment I said Curates, 1 thing to say about that... Auto correct
@Maverick2736
@Maverick2736 6 жыл бұрын
Remember that the Kuratas was just a huge, glorified gunpla for rich collectionists that could barely move like this 12-ton hulk can drift around corners, much less actually fight anything. Mobility means nothing if they won't be able to scratch the Eagle Prime's paintjob until they eventually get cornered. Cross your fingers and hope the Kuratas team actually have put as much work into their robot as the MegaBots team have on theirs, because otherwise it's just gonna be very short and sad for the Kuratas...
