Eric Champlin lol this is bonus. The $1 million trick was his experimental last act that made it well deserved! For AGT very appropriate to showcase his concerto skills.. just to say that he was a pro at piano too. He chose to repurpose his hand skills to magic. I applaud him because I don't believe I have seen a magician with professional music background. I know of many musicians who are magicians but not to the league Shin Lim is. Mainly great musicians but not professional. Shin Lim has a combination power that is unique. The only criticism I have for him is being too honest in his style. He doesn't use trickery but sleight-of-hand.. overreliance on SOH has its vulnerability..

I think this card trick was an act of brilliance rather than of quick hands. 1:19 --> Quick look at the card so that he knows which card Ellen chose 1:28 --> Arranges all the 6s as the last cards of those 4 decks 1:52 --> All 6s are on top 2:11 --> He asks to put one card down from the deck(all 6s) 2:14 --> Asks to shuffle other cards 2:32 --> All the 6s are the first cards 2:43 --> Asks to throw cards randomly 3:00 --> Asks to count cards by putting one by one so that all the 6s come one top Amazing!!!

For example, if Ellen chooses 6 of spade, he will then perform a "teleportation" of her 6 of diamonds to either of the other 2 persons and say that the 6 of diamonds is now with either of the other 2 persons. They'll probably still be amazed.

He kinda flips the deck around before giving it to her, and for a split second, he looks directly at the face side of the deck, in which his finger has bookmarked the card Ellen chose. He did the same thing in his AGT performance. In the end, when they're picking their respective piles, it seems that Ellen got lucky and picked the pile with her own card in it. Otherwise he would have told her to give the pile to someone else, like he did with that guy on the AGT performance. That's just my guess idk. :)

It was explained this way in another Shin Lim performance video: he uses his pinkie finger to mark the spot of the chosen card, so when he starts flipping through the deck, he can immediately see which card was selected; he then sets up the four stacks so that the chosen card (and its equals) are on top of each pile. From there, his directions move the card to the bottom; then back up to the top, of each pile. Ellen selecting the pile with her own card is a gamble, but the magician can simply talk his way to four different endings (and make each of them seem "magical") depending on who happens to have picked the pile with the chosen card.

Then very obviously he separates the cards into 4 piles all while looking for the 6s then when he has Ellen pick her pile(which he puts right in front of her) he tells her to pick it up(if she picked the wrong pile he would tell her to hand it out to somebody else) all the 6’s are on the bottom of the deck so when they count their cards they move to the top. Cool trick but pretty easy to figure out, I mean I figured it out and I couldn’t figure out 99% of his tricks

chad kohl This is called magician's choice. It's when the magician remembers which pile has the chosen card, and forces the "chosen person" to end up with that specific pile. If Ellen had chosen any other pile, he would have told her to give it to someone else, until she chose the pile on the far right. Shin just got lucky there that Ellen chose the right pile on the first try, but that's not what matters. What matters is how flawless he did the trick and how he successfully controlled 3 people at once.

It's an amazing ability!!! He knew ellen': card since the begging and when she gives him the cards back the, while he's talking and distracting the girls, he's preparing all the six's, each in one pack, and in the bottle of each one! So in the end, when he tells the girls to count the cards like him, the last card will become the first one, so no matter what they do with the other cards, the six's will be in the bottom, and in the end will be the first because of the last counting he tells them!! I think that's what happened hahah

He knows where the card is, and so if Ellen would have picked the wrong pile, he would have said "Give that pile to someone else" until she picked the right one and then he would say "Keep that one for yourself". Easy trick. After Ellen picks a card and shuffles the deck, he quickly reshuffles all the cards AND puts all the 6's at the top of every pile before making Ellen chose a pile. He then placed the pile with the 6 ♦️ closest to Ellen (with the hope that she would choose that pile. Had Ellen chosen a different pile, other than the 6 ♦️, he would have kept that pile and eventually given the pile with the 6♦️ to Ellen through process of elimination.) The only pile that really matters is Ellen's. Once everyone chooses a pile, he askes them to put one card down (all the 6's are put down as the first card). Then he askes them to make a 'nice pile.' The reasoning is to not lose the place of the 6's at the bottom of every pile. Once everyone is done putting down the cards, he askes them to deal as many cards as they want to the middle until they decide to stop. Lastly, he askes everyone to count the number of cards they have starting with the top card and ending with the last card on top (which now takes the bottom card and moves it to the top). And tada, everyone has a 6 on top!! Takes a little practice, but easy Trick to master.

Simple trick, he quickly looked to the card (min 1:19) then everything else was easy. He made 4 piles and put the card, and other "6" cards on the top of the piles. Now he just needed to keep an eye on the pile and to whom the chosen card will go to. After Ellen picked the pile, by mere chance, he made her and others move the top cards to the bottom of the piles by asking them to put one card on the table then shuffling the remaining cards and put them on the cards placed on the table. At this point he knew that the chosen card is now at the bottom of Ellen's pile, as well as the other "6" cards. After they throw few cards he made them count the cards they still have just to bring the "6" cards to the top of the piles. Then he simply asked them to flip the top cards, which turned out to be the chosen card with other "6" cards.

Nice enjoyed watching this one. So how he did it is , when he tells Ellen give me your hand at about 1:19 You can see he has pushed Elens card a tab bit so he sneaks a peak of her card so now he knows it’s 6 of diamonds. Step 2 he makes sets of cards which are uneven the reason being he is selecting to cut the deck at where each 6 is you can then see him even out the 4 stacks by moving cards around ensuring all the 6s are at the top of each of the 4 piles,remember at this time all the 6s are the top card , then he asks everyone to deal a card and says give it shot this puts all the four 6s at the bottom of each pile as they stack other cards on top of their decks. Then he asks everyone to throw burn as many top cards as they want however making sure that the all the 6s are safe at the bottom on everyone’s pile, now every one stops and he tells everyone to count there cards by putting the top card down all the way to the last card this makes the bottom most card now be the top card these are the same 6s that he put at the very top at the beginning when he made sets which never get burned. It was fun watching.

If she pointed to a different pile, he may have said something like “who do you want to give that pile to?” Statistically it’s probably most likely she picks the pile closest to her so that worked out nicely, but I’m sure he had a strategy to make sure she got the right one in the end
