actually, no, not necessarily. My cousin, Cesar Ruiz, used to go to public school in New Jersey, but then they recruited him - giving him a very bright future. Now, he plays for Michigan U. and became a starter for them in his first year. Regardless, IMG gave him a scholarship, and it was all definitely worth it when it came down to what it promised him. Though I know where you're mindset is coming from and I get your point, these are just a bunch of kids trying to make their dreams come true...and IMG, they aren't a bunch of pricks, some of these kids started from nothing and football is their only chance. I know this was longer than it needed, but these comments are just filled with hate towards kids trying to make their dreams come true, which just isn't right.

Hey if the kids want to it, let them do it. If I had this kind of opportunity with soccer when I was in HS I’d be ALL over it trying to get in. Some HS don’t care at all about their sports team, and don’t allocate any funds to help their students. To them, it’s just an extracurricular activity. To us it’s a lifestyle. Sports are our life. There is nothing wrong with having a school that helps us live this lifestyle and helps us progress as players. I only think it’s wrong that the price is so high, and that they do the recruiting. But hey, if you’re really good enough then you’ll get a scholarship and get a full ride. And if you aren’t good enough to get a scholarship, then maybe you aren’t good enough to even be on that kind of team.
@bignono95895 жыл бұрын
Alex Cruz you have to pay 60k a year. That’s more expensive than some of the best UNIVERSITIES out there It’s completely unfair in every way. They only have 3 classes a day, and practice more than they actually sit in a classroom and learn And they only recruit the best. It’s just throwing the best players in the US in one big building and giving them a bunch of expensive gear to use

He was not academically eligible to enroll at FSU, so he committed to Fort Scott CC, then transferred to Iowa Central CC. He never played a snap at FSU. In the summer of 2019, he was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute. (He became a pimp, you can't make this shit up). Head Coach Kevin Wright: Hired as Tight Ends coach at Indiana University -Savion Smith: Played freshman year at LSU, transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, then landed at Alabama where he finished his college career. He wasn't drafted, but signed as a UDFA by the Jaguars. -Drake Davis: Played two seasons at LSU. He was poised to have a breakout season in 2018, but after a string of domestic assaults and a child pornography charge, he was arrested and removed from the team. He was released on a 20k bond and enrolled at Southern University. As of right now, he has no affiliation with the football program -Brian Burns (American Heritage DB): Committed to FSU where he played 3 years. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Panthers -Nick Eubanks (American heritage player; interception at 11:19): Commited to Michigan where he played TE, primarily played a back up roll

it's a mockery of HS athletics. Plain and simple. They recruit the best players from all over the country and still have the audacity to call it a a HS program. It's advanced college prep w/o the academics. The kids are there only for the athletics. I doubt any even know what or where a classroom is. IMG is much like the HS basketball Clearinghouses that have popped up across the country for no reason but to train athletes for college, except with a lot more funding. The school IMG plays in this video, American Heritage, is another HS football Clearinghouse. Bishop Gorman in Nevada is another example. I would love to know how they are able to pass themselves off as high schools.

I played big time High School football in Texas where Friday Night Lights are a sacred part of our culture... We played in front of thousands sometimes tens of thousands every Friday... The marching bands were big enough to stretch the full length of the field when they would line up before half time...The drum lines would get you so fired up... Our pep rally’s had local radio and tv stations at them... when you were an incoming freshman getting that letterman jacket meant everything... Then once you got it Filling it up with your award and playoff patches became everything... By the time you were a senior if your letterman had so many patches it looked like you had done a couple tours in Iraq you felt like you had accomplished something... Cross town and district rivalries were absolutely real.... ... We played the #1 team in the nation all 3 years I was on varsity... we played in the cowboys stadium for the playoffs.. our seasons start in the doh days of August and if your lucky to make a deep playoff run your playing past thanks giving... our busses To the games got police escorts... the community put out signs for us so you see them on the drive to the stadium...And I could keep going and going All night about how And why high school football is so special to us here in TX.. so seeing this bullshit school recruit players then cherry pick their schedule makes me sick... They completely ruin what makes high school ball great... And I promise u this much they would get waxed by the elite programs here... looks like they playing Duncanville here soon... They’re gonna be at what used to be the ballpark the Texas Rangers played at... Normal attendance non Covid years is over 20k for a Duncanville game this being a special game if it had been a normal year easily could of had 30-40k in attendance which would be damn near a sellout... I don’t care how many stars your ranked I guarantee these kids haven’t played in a stadium with 20-30 thousand people yelling, cowbells ringing, the 400 person band blaring... it’s so loud you can’t hear anything.. that’s high school football not this slimey pay to play school that pimps kids away from a normal highschool experience...
@casperguo71773 жыл бұрын
Cannot speak for others but J J McCarthy went there and he is getting a solid start at Michigan. I don’t see how a program like this cannot offer some benefits to kids who have their minds set on going pro.

I see a lot of comments where people discredit these young athletes as if they had a "paved road" and didn't have to work to be where they are. There is with out a doubt quite a bit of luck involved, to be a great athlete. There is so much we can't control in our lives, like the genetics we are born with or the environment that we grow up in ( to a certain extent) that could impact a young athletes chance at being great. There is no doubt that I had often thought " man if only my dad had bred my to be an athlete like some of those parents" or I blamed my genetics for my lack of sports success. Reality is you do what you can with the cards you are dealt. I don't discredit any of these kids for making the most out of a very good situation. I see tons of physically blessed individuals fail in school, go to prison and even just achieve simple mediocrity in life.My point is, in its own unique way, life hits all of us and it hits hard. There is no doubt that life hits some harder than others, but I won't discredit a kid for being dealt a great hand and making the most out of it. You all sound bitter and jealous. Kind of pathetic.

I don't think anyone likes the idea of it, I don't really either. I just don't see why the people commenting are acting like these kids don't deserve to be where they are at though. Some more than others for sure, but they are obviously doing something right.
@zackmartin95209 жыл бұрын
Robert Patton No doubt about that.. These kids worked very hard to be where they are at.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I'm not a fan of a school where 14-18 year olds go where football is the only thing in their life. I'm from a small D5 school and I thought some of the kids here were bad. I get what you're saying too about these kids having natural talent, since they already had to be very good by the time they got into high school; four years of training can't make you go from mediocre to one of the best in the country. I just don't understand how kids are ranked #1 or #2 in the nation and getting multiple D1 college offers at age 17, only going into their senior year in high school.
