The Bottom line is work ethic. You can do the same things these kids do if you are motivated. You do not have to have a fancy weight room either. Get you ass some cinder blocks, water, and some cornbread and butter beans and got to work.

@connorwright86525 жыл бұрын
Gordy McCauley it’s mainly a sponsorship and money from Gatorade to have a fuel bar in their facility
@SimpExterminator5 жыл бұрын
You cant just make that kind of bold statement about something and not show any evidence to support your claim, otherwise it's just going to be taken as a subjective opinion. Yes, gatorade probably does have a lot of sugar. However, they have a huge research and scientific team that are behind the formulation of their recovery drinks. So it may not be the healthiest drink to have, but with the right balance of carbohydrates and electrolytes, it certainly does rehydrate and replenish fuel stores.
@TheDutySpot5 жыл бұрын
@@SimpExterminator as someone with a degree in both health and exercise science and dietary nutrition, who's also in a PhD program for hes, gatorade fuckin blows. There is absolutely no recovery benefit to drinking gatorade. I'm not exactly sure that you understand that electrolytes is a fancy word for sodium. Which you absolutely do not need more of if you eat like a normal human, let alone an athlete. "fuel stores?" what does that mean? calories are a unit of energy. sodium does fuck all for your energy levels. To take this even further, a large gatorade has around 30 carbs. These kids probably need above 300 a day. It's a sponsorship for a sugary, useless drink that does nothing to improve physical performance in ANY capacity.
@sorenschmid38855 жыл бұрын
@@SimpExterminator shut up its genuinely bad for you
@SimpExterminator5 жыл бұрын
@@TheDutySpot Well, as someone such as myself who has completed an associative degree in Fitness and Health Promotion, and about to complete an honors degree in Kinesiology and Heath Sciences, I happen to have a fairly legitimate understanding of the scientific literature behind the dietary needs for highly trained athletes. I have also been in the personal training industry for over 5 years and am working towards a future in strength and conditioning in professional sports. I simply chose to use layman's terms with the initial comment to avoid any confusion around here. First of all, I am not an advocate for the use of gatorade for athletes at any level. If we're simply talking about how these athletes should be staying hydrated, all they need is water and they should be perfectly fine. However, these athletes are definitely losing a significant amount of electrolytes, which mind you also includes potassium, through the loss of water via sweat from all that highly intensive training. You cannot replace the loss of sodium and potassium just from drinking water. These athletes are highly trained, and are probably at a very high rate of energy expenditure with hours and hours of training. So for them, trying to maximize their performance at least through ways of water retention (sodium) and aiding in the efficiency of skeletal muscle contraction and neural conduction (potassium), then yes I wouldn't see any harm in drinking gatorade. Again, I'm NOT saying they need gatorade to replenish the loss of energy (for obvious reasons) or even the loss of electrolytes if they're presumably staying hydrated before and during training, and are getting proper nutrition through diet. All I was trying to say is that despite the drink not being of any importance for an athlete, it is still better than nothing. Reading back my initial comment, I will take back the part where I mentioned gatorade having a good balance of carbohydrates, because we all know the drink is saturated with simple sugars and god knows what else. When I said "fuel stores", I was simply referring to the caloric energy one gets through fuel, or food. Yes, I fully understand that these athletes do not need to replenish the loss of glycogen through drinking gatorade, that would be highly unnecessary especially since a post-training meal would be more than enough.

I didn't go to IMG, but I've been there because our track and field nationals were held there. Lemme tell you, many if these kids are spoiled and rude. We had to work out in their weight room and I had this guy say to me "You don't need to take up a whole rack, you're not gonna even do that much anyways" implying that I didn't do that much weight or something. I'm literally the strongest female athlete at my school. I squat over 315 for a workout. My max is double my body weight. This guy was struggling with 275 and looked the same weight as me. Get tf outta my face with that nonsense. Just cause they have the nice facilities and awesome nutrition doesn't mean you can train them to have respect or heart.

@deandredonald44687 жыл бұрын
Will Henson what's wrong?
@MiamiWill37 жыл бұрын
Prey Juice well in my opinion they ruin the purity of HS football in Florida. Super teams are disgusting as far as real glory is concerned and they've exclusively poached small to medium size counties under the promise of exposure and some betterment in education. Both are exaggerated and borderline incorrect. Many players from the school say the education is no different than any other prep school and as for exposure.... if you're a D1 caliber kid and can play, you can be on a 0-10 squad and college coaches will find you. Flat out. Gone are the days where a hometown team is buoyed by a star player. They've successfully taken about 5 D1 kids from our area in the last 3 years. 1 of them was already committed to Minnesota! I work for a team in a county and they offered us 15 thousand to come and play them on a two year contract (which from what I'm given to understand is standard offer to most teams around). Nobody plays them because it's pointless to get destroyed and injured when you have district games to worry about. I feel like the privatization of HS football is unnecessary and bad for the kids. It doesn't enforce the ultimate lessons HS athletics teach as far as lessons outside the game. Suddenly the kids are money and it's wrong. Now sure, prep schools have done this forever BUT this is a whole different level. Not all prep kids are playing college football but they generally receive an above average education. Same can't be said for IMG. There's so much to hs athletics outside of the actual game itself that I feel become tainted when you make HS sports strictly a business.

I honestly think if kids understood the work ethic, determination, and sacrifice it takes to play Div. I and especially the NFL, they wouldn't want to do it. College is pretty cut throat. The NFL is more so. You are treated as a product, not a human being. They can be pretty cold blooded in the League. Some coaches will straight up tell a player things like; they will trade them 2-3 years before there prime playing days are up. Or, "Hey son, there is no denying your best WR out of the group. However, we paid all this money for the number one pick who hasn't done shit. So we cant really keep you around. We have to try to develop this overpaid shit bag." It's sad but true. I truly think that if a majority of kids knew how it was, they wouldn't have anything to do with working so hard to "make it".

@ericvanzytveld90347 жыл бұрын
Ditto, Lee Li. On top of that IMG is designed to operate like a college, so students have learned how to function at a college as opposed to a high school. Their transition to the daily-life-routine of college is far smoother too. I know I could have benefited from that leaving HS. It took me my freshman year to begin sorting out how to balance all responsibilities without having parents.
