Likley because all amplification for audio purposes used vacume tubes which some guitarists and audio junkies still swear by and tbh I kinda agree vocals are defo alot cleaner on them proving volume and gain is reasonable and the tubes aient damaged tbh I think the majority of low power small transistor amps sound terrible including ones in phones 😂.

It sounds like you're referring to the Messer Schmidt Bf 262, a German jet fighter from World War II. The Allies countered the threat of the Me 262 with several strategies: 1. **Fighter Escorts**: Allied fighters, such as the P-51 Mustang, were used to escort bombers and protect them from the Me 262 attacks. This tactic helped mitigate the Me 262's effectiveness against bombers. 2. **Tactical Changes**: Allied pilots adapted their tactics, often using faster, high-altitude fighters to engage the Me 262. They also employed hit-and-run tactics to avoid direct dogfights with the well-armed jet fighters. 3. **Anti-Jet Technology**: Improvements in radar and early-warning systems helped the Allies detect and intercept the Me 262 before it could inflict significant damage. 4. **Attacking Production and Bases**: The Allies targeted German aircraft production facilities and airfields to reduce the number of operational Me 262s and disrupt their deployment. These combined efforts helped to neutralize the threat posed by the Me 262, which, despite its advanced technology, was never produced in large enough numbers to turn the tide of the war.

@@willie417 The P51 had nothing the ME 262 from a physical machine standpoint. The ME 262 was mechanically superior in every single way. However by the time they were fielded, the high quality jet fuel, readily available servicing, parts, high explosive cannon shells, large production numbers, and experienced pilots needed to make it a killing machine were non-existent. Instead the ME 262 got low quality fuel, poor servicing, poorly defended airbases (leading to quite a few losses as they were shot down from behind on takeoff), very low production numbers (kind of hard to build jets when ur factories keep getting bombed) and more than anything, from inexperienced newbie pilots who were barely capable of comprehending how to operate such a new fangled and complicated machine, let alone do so while fighting against highly experienced dangerous Allied pilots with dozens of kills worth of experience.

This is what hitlers generals meant when they said they were not ready for a full scale war until 1945. Imagine if they would’ve waited to attack until 1945. @@rudramahadev22 The Japanese govt almost certainly knew that the United States was attempting to build atomic bombs. However, Japanese military, scientific, and government officialdom seems to have believed that the US would not succeed in fielding practical, working weapons before the war then being waged came to an end. There were several probable sources for Japan’s general knowledge of the existence of the Manhattan Project. The first was an observation by the man most responsible for the launch of the Japanese Army’s own nuclear weapons effort, Lt. Col. Tatsusaburo Suzuki. In his report summarizing the survey he conducted in 1940 to determine the feasibility of a Japanese atomic bomb project, he noted the disappearance of articles on nuclear fission from US technical journals, and concluded that this likely meant the Americans were already at work on The Bomb. Did the average Japanese citizen know about the race for atomic weapons?, almost certainly not, but the Japanese Govt did.

Frank whittle the British RAF genius ...had invented the jet engine way back in the mid 1930s.. but was hindered by jealous rivals and held back ...he eventually got the first British jet the meteor in the air. At the same time as the Germans....after the war he became bitter and disillusioned in Britain and the way he was treated ..he eventually moved to the United States of America...where he worked on their air jet projects ..

Probably very nervous too. You had to be careful when accelerating. The engines were fragile. Hell, current jet engines are fragile. But I remember one 262 pilot blew up on the runway, because he accelerated too fast, and the blades couldn't take the stress. Maybe it needed stronger steel.

not really as the problem was the speed combined with limited range of the guns made it bloody hard to shoot at aircraft much slower than it, and it could only stay in the air for very short periods.
