I love making this. Chicken wings works well too. I stopped making my own sauce cause aloha shoyu is gold. I use 1:1 ratio Mr. Yoshidas and water reheated with a smash of ginger, minced Garlic, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds and saseme oil. Topped with Chopped green onions. I twice fry the chicken to get it even crisper.

Nice! Potato starch is a powerful thickener too. Green onions flash off when cooking (losing flavor). I sometimes add sugar to get more browning. Thanks!

You're too adorable! Love watching you! I totally feel you. Need to watch what I eat nowadays. Great video! I prefer fried chicken! Looks sooo yummy!! My tummy is grumbling! Wednesday is my birthday, not sure if I should splurge or continue monitoring what I eat.

Happy Valentine's Day! Thank you for this yummy recipe Niki! Will definitely try your recipe soon. I used Monkfruit sugar once for a dessert recipe, the texture was grainy, but it was a good substitute if you're watching your sugar intake. Yay! I bet Mom enjoyed it!💗💗💗
@ronaldnishimura83572 жыл бұрын
Did this dish twice already. Only change was I used segmented wings and drumettes and since I didn't have potato starch I used a combo rice flour, tapioca starch and cornstarch. Browned nicely and your sauce hit the spot. Better garlic chicken than the restaurant. Sooo crispy !!

Chicken looks delicious. Potato snack is good idea. It stayed crispy even after you poured the sauce. My sister mixes the ingredients in the batter and add sesame in. I think we'll try it this way. Thank you sharing this recipe.

Your chicken looked so good! We have a similar sauce recipe, but we're kind of lazy...we take the whole bone-in thigh. salt and pepper it, coat it with potato starch, brown it in a little oil, dip it in the sauce and bake it uncovered to finish; then garnish with sesame seeds. Tastes great, and you don't have to deep fry to get crunch, at least on the skin part.

yes it looks yummy. I'll have to try this one, because I normally don't eat fried Chicken. If I do it's like once a year . Thanks Niki

Hi sister!! Hontoni oishisou ne!! I'm so happy that you decided to give Lankanto a try. Of course, it's not for everyone--especially if you've always only used pure cane sugar, however, it's better than nothing, if you have dietary restrictions......baby steps, yeah? Yes, the golden is like brown sugar, and the white is of course like white sugar. They also have powdered as well. You're doing awesome with your walking and with watching what you eat. I know that brother Shinichi had been intermittent fasting. I began IF early last year, and followed it all the way, up until 2 months ago. I have recently began again. It truly works and I find myself not getting hungry until much later. My eating window is 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, typically..... Sometimes I don't get hungry until 2:00 PM. I will definitely give this delicious looking recipe a try. I know that my family will really like it. I'm curious to know whether Brian or your okaasama liked/disliked the monk fruit sweetener. Thank you for sharing!

They could not tell I used sugar substitute. I think they just love the fried food and shoyu, I don’t think I could do fasting. I have a hard time at night. I have insomnia and stay up late snd my stomach starts rumbling.. terrible. How do you control that? I can control in the morning time but night time I’m a monster.. thank you for the tips., it really helps.. Arigatoo !!

What kind of oil do you use? And, what do you do with the oil after you fry with it? I usually don't fry like that because I don't know what to do with the oil. I heard in Japan they make this powder stuff you put in the oil and it solidifies it so you can safely throw it away.
@NikiNikiHawaii2 жыл бұрын
I use regular vegetable oil. My mom throws out the oil when cooled in some recycled jar.

The nom-noms are real. For me, I'm lazy. I put the chicken into the sauce and cook them together. However, I'll consider making them separate. Take care, Niki Niki and family. *hearts*

The method of cooking looks dirty. Dipping the same spoon sa you keep tasting. Why not use cooking spatula, instead of spoon?
