Why couldn't he butcher not back bacon , that's a bit weird unless your saying your butchers is the supermarket which isn't the same .Black pudding for me is a must but wouldn't have you arrested for not having it as many don't like it .I same as fried bread ,very traditional but just not my thing and god it's unhealthy. If I am saying that then it Defo is lol IRN BREW is Scottish. Many may say so what but try and tell us an American product is Canadian or vice versa and you will get what I mean .Oh dear the sausage are absolutely not the same.Saying all that I like the spin of bacon grease ! Gold help the veggies 😅😅.All in all great job mate considering.!

@@steveashton4042 having visited America quite a few times, and having a few who's just moved back to the UK after living there for years, they don't sell it any where. They don't even know what it is. So if he'd asked him to butcher some he would've just been given a blank stare. The closest people tell you to try is Canadian bacon, and it's just not the same, so I can forgive him for the bacon. And he doesn't have a hope in hell of finding black pudding 😂 I think given the limited options he has from US supermarkets, he did a pretty bang on job. Even had the beans on toast that most Americans cry about because they've likely never tried Heinz and will think of their style beans which is like a bbq style bean full of spices

Don't bother with cups or grams or ounces, put four room temperature eggs in a measuring jug/ any vessel you want, empty into something, use the same volume of milk, same volume of flour - use a muffin tin, make sure your oil is smoking hot. Make the Yorkshires yourself. They're super easy. Have a look for Gordon Ramseys Yorkshire's. The main thing you need is a hot oven. So you pre oil a muffin tray at 220°c then put it in the oven for 10 minutes. Then take it out, turn the oven down to 200°c. Put about 1/3 mix in each muffin section and stick in oven. Don't open the oven for at least 20 minutes.

It’s the cold batter hitting the smoking hot fat that causes them to instantly puff up, spreading the fat up the sides of the moulds which prevents them from sticking. Make up the batter in advance and stick it in the fridge. Only bring it out and give it a good stir when you’re ready to pour it into the muffin pan. 😊

As a Brit, top job on this big man 🤙🏽. One thing with the beans, I understand non British people don’t get the concept of our beans (including my Dutch gf) and even though I love the classic straight up hienz don’t be afraid to up you bean game. I’m a massive fan of adding a big dollop of HP sauce into my beans whilst they are cooking along with some Tabasco (or any of hot sauce if your likening) and ground pepper. It might need a bit longer in the pan with the added liquid but it bangs hard. Sometimes I even add cream cheese to my beans… cos hell yeah who doesn’t like cheesy beans?! Keep up the good work to you and your missus 🤙🏽

Good effort, doesnt have to be perfect or exactly the same. Foods for experimenting with and finding your personal tastes. Take any British dish and make it your own. To my beans i always add a knob of butter, it adds a shine to them and a creamyness and some seasoning if its salted. I also if not branston brand add a dash of washyoursister (worcestershire) sauce or hp brown sauce and a bit of dried oregano.

Next time you do a fry up, can I suggest you use a good amount of bacon grease to fry a slice or two of bread, just before cooking the eggs (this is often done in a deep fryer over here, but shallow fried works as long as you are generous with the fat). Fried bread with egg and beans is absolutely top tier. Personally, I prefer Branston beans over Heinz, but either way, I suggest adding a knob of butter and some salt and pepper while cooking them, and cook until the sauce has thickened. Yorkshire Pudding uses the same batter as English Pancakes (like thicker Crepes) and is incredibly easy as it just involves mixing together equal quantities by volume of plain flour, milk, and eggs. I like to whisk the eggs into the flour until it has no lumps, then add the milk. Leave the batter to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before using. To make Yorkies, put a blob of fat (ideally animal, such as Lard or Beef Dripping as they have a high smoke point) into each hole in a Muffin tin, and get it good and hot in a hot oven, then QUICKLY add some of the batter to each hole and get it back into the oven for about 15 minutes. Try not to open the oven at all while the Yorkies are cooking. To make Toad In The Hole, start cooking some sausages in a roasting/baking dish with a good amount of fat in the hot oven, and when the fat is good and hot, quickly add the batter and get it back into the oven for about 30 minutes. Serve with onion gravy (brown gravy with caramelised onions, red onion is best for this). To make pancakes, use a little butter or neutral flavoured oil to grease a frying pan (skillet), then pour or ladle in some batter and tilt the pan so that a thin layer covers the whole base of the pan, and cook until the top of the batter is just set, before flipping over to cook the other side. Repeat as necessary until the batter is all gone (or until you can't be bothered anymore). Pancakes can then be topped, and rolled or folded around the filling to eat. Typical toppings can vary from extremely simple (Jam/Jelly/Marmalade etc), to traditional (Cinnamon, Sugar, and Lemon Juice), to decadent (Nutella, Banana, and Whipped Cream). Pancakes can also be used as a sort of alternative to cannelloni by filling (with e.g. Spinach and Ricotta, Chicken in a white sauce, etc.) and rolling, placing the rolls in a (square) baking dish, topping with a little tomato sauce and plenty of cheese and baking until hot through and the cheese has started to crisp up. Leftover Yorkies are also good with a bit of jam for dessert.

I'm from East London and that would be classed as a proper English fry up. My local greasy spoon (cafe), I would opt for 2 rashers of bacon, sausage, beans, plum tomatoes (canned variety), mushrooms, bubble & squeak and fried bread. Brown sauce is the way to go. Bubble is more a London thing. It used to be the left over potatoes and veg from a roast dinner, all combined and fried. Most cafes just do it fresh with mash and some veg. On a hungry day, I go builders breakfast. All of the above but with a burger patty and chips or hash browns.

You did very well recreating the full English In the U.K. our equivalent to your bacon grease is beef dripping or lard. We do use streaky bacon too. Personally I prefer to use unsmoked streaky rather than back bacon. If I was really going to town on my full English I’d be including bubble n squeek and black pudding. White pudding is good too but you don’t see it so much in our supermarkets these days. No full english can be enjoyed without a nice cup of tea. 8 times out of 10 a full English in a cafe in the UK is never going to be as good as one you’d get in an English household. Remember Irn bru is Scottish not English lol. The English drink tea like PG or Yorkshire tea with their fry up. Scottish breakfast fry ups are very good too. Bell’s dumpling n lawn sausage and if you’re from the coast you’d have scallops with it too!! 😅

For Yorkshire pudding mix, pick a cup or glass, size doesn’t matter . Fill the cup or glass with all purpose flour and empty this into a mixing bowl, next fill the same cup with milk add to the mixing bowl, using the same cup fill with eggs and add to the bowl. Mix all to combine to make a batter, add salt and pepper to taste. Place the batter mix in the fridge for a least 2 hours (most important) When your ready to cook set the oven to high, place a roasting tin with a good covering of oil into the hot oven and let get really hot. Then quickly pour in the batter mix and close the oven, do not open the oven door again until the batter has risen and is a good rich colour. Better than the packet stuff. The more you try the better you get at making Yorkshire pudding.

The things that make a great cooked breakfast are runny eggs and brown sauce - which you've mastered here, and adding some Worcestershire sauce to the beans. Don't be afraid to use your knife and fork on the toast. I like to put the eggs on the toast, then stab a bit of each meat and other soft items down the fork and a bit of egg on toast last. So it's like a Lucas Tower of goodness. And because the toast is the last piece, it's like a wall to mash a few beans against. It's far more beneficial than the scooping technique 😂 A+ for effort. A- for execution. The 'bru' you need to have with your breakfast, is a proper brew... A cup of tea.👍

Just found your videos, watched your lunch at lunch too. You did a great job of your fry up, Canadian bacon is similar to our Scottish bacon. Just wished you had Scottish potato scones to go with your fry up . Oh try beans on toast with grated cheddar, yummy.

Know some folks in Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and Kentucky, I have been over twice (2 times - 8 weeks total) - Think about opening a restaurant selling food like this (Full English, Cream Tea's, Lancashire Hot Pot, Welsh Cakes, Welsh Rarebit, Roast Dinners) and a shop with Irn Bru, British Tea, British Chocolate etc Look what happened with KFC and Mc Donald's.

For home made Yorkshires, use 3 identical glasses, cups, jugs etc. As long as they are clear and you can see whats inside, I use glasses. Start with eggs, however many you need, I usually use 2. Then for the other two fill them up to the same level with milk and flour. You will have 3 glasses each at the same level in height as the egg. Mix the flour and egg, then add the milk, mix well until you see frothy bubbles appear. Let it rest before using, overnight in the fridge if you want. Then put either a muffin tray or individual oven proof vessels with a bit of oil (not olive oil, they wont work as well) into a preheated oven 200°c until the oil is smoking hot. Take the mixture in a jug to the oven and pour a few tablespoons worth of the mixture into each one. Put them in for around 20 mins until risen and golden, just like you had here. You can also use this to make "toad in the hole" basically those breakfast sausages, half cooked, then follow yorkshire recipe and add sausages to a bigger ovenproof dish (lasagne dish etc) along with the mix. Cook for the same time, maybe a wee bit longer if its not golden enough. Serve with mash potatoes and proper gravy.

As an Englishman, I can tell you very easily that breakfast is a very personal selection. What you made was spot on and all looked authentic. Yep, the black pudding is a favourite of mine, again a personal choice. Mopping up the HP and yolk is a real treat, for which toast or fried bread is made for. The missing item was a mug of builder's tea, or in Wetherspoons, a pint of lager.

Pro-tip when making a full english or any large multi-part meal. Preheat your grill/oven to a low heat. Whack your plate in there and put your cooked foods on the plate in there to keep them warm. (so a really low heat, you just want to keep it warm, not cook it anymore) Also, fried bread is also an option, and I bet it would taste amazing in your bacon fat/lard

Decent effort man, just two observations. 1, Switch out the toast for fried bread, you'll never look back. 2, Gorgeous as Irn Bru is, you need to switch that for a piping hot mug of tea. The magic that happens when you combine HP sauce with a hot cuppa is borderline alchemy.

I duno if anybody else mentioned it, but in Scotland we would probably have tattie (potato) scones, also, and personally, I'm a big fan of French toast to go along with everything. You can have haggis slices too, in the same form as black pudding slices. Looks authentic to me, good job.

I’ve heard (can’t say if it’s true or not) but UK baked beans are more savoury than the ones in the states, which are a bit sweeter. Done a good job of that fry up though. The cafés we have here in uk are generally referred to as “greasy spoons” unless they’re slightly upmarket. We’d often go in there at 6am after a night clubbing to get a fry up before heading home.

Hi, Brit here. That looked good. Given you are cooking with bacon fat, I would have done fried bread, as an alternative to toast (or as well as). Not sure if you are aware, your (US) A1 sauce is the same as HP sauce (I haven't tried but same bottle same company and am told it is the same). I would prefer back bacon, but its what you can get, I prefer smoked, not sure what yours is? Also the sausages seemed to be thin, UK sausages are normally about the an inch or more thickness, can be pork or beef or mixed. On size 4-6 sausages should weigh about 1 pound. Nicely done.

I also like a bit of hot sauce on my full English. Looks a great brekkie btw. For me the key is simply good ingredients. Bacon streaky or back ideally smoked and not the stuff pumped full of water. Sausages and black pudding from the butcher. There's no real right or wrong though, you can omit/add stuff fry or grill use whatever oil or grease you like. Just season well like you did and pay a little more for quality. Great Job👌

Hi Kalani! I'm from the UK and I have a place for you to visit which would tie in really nicely with both your cuisine hunting and your ghost hunting. It is a little fishing town on the coast of North Yorkshire known as Whitby. Now, what makes this place special and stand out above the (no doubt) hundreds of suggestions you must get, is the fact that not only is it known around the whole of England for having arguably the best fish and chips but it is also the place where Bram Stoker wrote the now immortal (pun intended) novel; Dracula! the inspiration comes from a massive and now ruined Abbey that sits high above the town on the cliffs and is still a rather imposing and looming, if not majestic structure which adds to Whitby's aura of the supernatural. legend has it that when Vlad the Impaler fled from Walachia he made landfall on the Whitby shore and did not survive the night, his remains being buried in an unmarked grave at the Abbey and it is likely that this was the inspiration for Bram's work.

Yes, bacon - ten on ten, button mushrooms - bingo, black pudding - snap, erm, minor criticism, more distance between the eggs and the beans. I may want to mix them, but I want that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater. But I’m nit-picking, on the whole a very good effort, seven on ten.

YORKSHIRE PUDDING RECIPE. Pre heat oven and muffin tray with a thumb nail size bit of lard in each section, when smoking hot add batter mix (below) evenly into each section. 100mls milk ,100 grams (2/3 of a cup, 4oz) all purpose (plain) flour 2 large eggs. Beat eggs and milk together then gradually add to flour (season flour with a 1/2 teaspoon salt/ pinch) till smooth batter. It should coat the back of a spoon type texture, then carefully add to your hot lard evenly in each muffin tray section. Return into hot oven for 20 minutes (it's vital you don't open oven door whilst they're cookings as it cause them to fall and go flat then when done enjoy

That's a solid looking breakfast, my preference is actually streaky bacon over back, but one thing missing for me is what we call a 'Fried Slice' which is just bread fried in the bacon fat so it soaks up the fat and goes a little crunchy, man is it's delicious!
