As a self taught english learner, these youtube videos really help. I always felt like I'm hearing "aaa" in the words not, cop, olive etc. instead of "ooo" like in photo.

Key here is to overcome the feeling of looking awkward when trying to shift from what we get used to , this is very true if we have been reading a certain sound wrongly for over years and always our mind snap back to our comfort zone.

I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video. Thank God my american pronouncation is so well. But I've always had the problem with this vowel (A) when it comes to pronouncing words like Rob anf rub, It was really a load off my mind. Thanks again you are the master of pronounciation.

Keenyn, I wish that you would do a lesson on the vowel sound in words like 'thought' and 'cloth'. Most text books teach them together with 'box' and 'watt', but I think that they are really different, and I can't find a good video about how to place the mouth in the correct position. Thanks!

Even if this sound it is not so difficult to produce it, it's very difficult distinguish it with the other sound. Deffenetly I have polish my way to produce it and my hability to distinguish it when I hear it.

That is why it is important to look the other person's face to watch her mouth's shape and hear the context to distinguish these words and, for example can/can't.

short u /ʌ/ - aw sound /ɔ/ minimal pairs are the most tricky ones for me... cut vs caught, done vs dawn, gun vs gone and what about cot-caught merger?
