As a Taiwanese, what Kevin said all true. Just like to add : 1 must be very careful when walking, some riders or drivers are crazy 2 don't just hang abound with other expets, try to join local activities n make local friends ,know local culture 3 must learn menderin Although the buildings looks ugly n old. But compare to many countries, Taiwan is so safe, convenient, affordable good medical care, full of activities, ppl are super friendly n food have so many choices. I appreciate i's born here. Only if china won't attract us.

Great content!! American follower for years. I have lived in big "dangerous" cities in NE USA, Texas. I understand Dad's reasoning. I now live in North East South Carolina (where I was born) Appalachian life is the way in the USA.

Interested by the Title, but stayed because of the adorable toddler. Come to think of it, When are you going to think about raising one? (if that ever is going to be happened)

Chinese American. I have lived my whole life in San Francisco. You should be way more worried about bad drivers than shootings. Percentage wise, school shootings are extremely minimal. Media loves to exploit your fears. UCSC psychology major.

I think people worry more about school shootings because it's not something we grew up with. Road fatalities have always been a thing, and they've probably gone down over the years. School shootings shouldn't be happening period.

So Kevin lives in Khaosiung but works in Hsinchu - sounds like a lot of commuting?

Notice the huge difference how they allow you to participate in their society as a functioning human being, potentially able to join in conversing on topics in public places one day, etc.. While the hyperxenophobic tribalistic cultures of SE Asia like Cambodia and Thailand make *damn* sure you're aware that you're not part and you never will be at the soonest possible second by using the English language as a tool of discrimination and exclusion? The sad part is all the tourists raving how supposedly "great" Thailand, for example is, don't realize they're being gaslit because they lack worldly experience or are happy to be treated as tourists forever & excluded in their bubble. Only by living part time in say Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China, etc. would one start to realize how insidious it is with SE Asia. SE Asia is a place where old white guys live forever and never have a single clue what is going on, and they get all the blame for it! In fact, it is not something that is entirely their fault.
