From the last Sanremo, I would suggest 'Irama - Ovunque Sarai' (one of the most appreciated). Also 'La rappresentante di Lista - Ciao Ciao' is generally considered catchy. From Mahmood, apart the well known "Soldi" (2nd place at Eurovision 2019), also "Rapide" is highly praised. Blanco mostly showed his powerful voice in things like 'BLANCO, Sfera Ebbasta - MI FAI IMPAZZIRE'. Also "BLANCO - Mezz'Ora Di Sole (Underwater Live Session)" is interesting... Somebody here also suggests 'Elisa - Anche Fragile' , but ironically the most appreciated song of Elisa is sung in English: 'Elisa - Dancing' . She is actually an experienced and talented artist, and sung many enjoyable songs.

Sanremo is the oldest music contest in Europe and the most prestigious in Italy. It actually inspired Eurovision. It's not a national selection for ESC. The winner can choose to represent Italy in ESC, but it's not mandatory. ESC is sort of a fun party in comparison 🤪 Sanremo is a huge deal for an Italian artist. It lasts several nights and for a few weeks that's all Italian newspapers and talk shows talk about. Mahmood and Blanco didn't just collab to make this song, they are actually really close friends, that's why they have such great chemistry.

Great reaction! :D This isn't Mahmood nor Blanco common style, they surprised everyone with this ballad (they are both mostly known in the italian rap/trap scene because they have many influences of it in their music, even if they aren't rappers, but especially Mahmood made a lot of featurings with rappers/hip hop artists; he has vocals, great rnb voice, and music beat)...Isn't Mahmood famous in USA? :( Oh of course he sings in italian hehe..But he's a great artist! Blanco too, he is amazing and I love his voice and style so much, but he's only 19 and became famous when he was 17, he's a new artist but really cool and interesting. Look for some of their songs if you want, even both CD and live versions (as Mahmood Rapide, Soldi, Klan, Kobra, Barrio, Inuyasha, Dorado, Talata and more, Blanco Notti in bianco, Mi fai impazzire, La canzone Nostra, Blu Celeste, Paraocchi etc).. Mahmood is Italian though his father is Egyptian. He has already represented Italy in Eurovision in 2019 in Tel Aviv with Soldi ( well worth checking out). He came second in the Final but was a huge crowd favorite and the song was very popular throughout Eurovision countries. He has made amazing music in the years since Tel Aviv and has a large fan base outside of Italy too. This is one of the favorites to win ESC this year.

We don’t have any other artist singing like Mahmood here in Italy, I think that’s why his voice is way more rare and particular and special. But I think the duet is perfectly balance due to their different voices, style, ages and also their chemistry ☺️

Mahmood is italian, but his father is from Egypt. he is 30 years old. Blanco is 100% italian and he is 18 years old. They are really friends and it is nice to see that chemistry on stage too. I am moved.

Great reaction!!!! Blanco's voice has some kind of magic, something that can't be put into words...bigger discover from 2021. Mahmood need no introduction, one of the best italian artists since 2018. This was from the 2022 Italian Sanremo national song contest, which is hugely important for the Italian market. As a secondary consideration, the winner of Sanremo gets the right to go to Eurovision to represent Italy if they want to, otherwise another song from Sanremo goes to represent Italy. This years Sanremo competition had a lot of good songs - I would highly recommend checking out at least "Ovunque Sarai"(Wherever you are) by Irama. "Ovunque sarai" doesn't translate to the present tense "wherever you are" , "sarai" is a future tense so the right translation is "wherever you'll be". (If it were present tense in italian It would be "ovunque SEI") I saw billions of comments and billions of english lyrics that have this damn error. Hehe 😊.. I understand him because it's true that in the states there are a lot of r&b artists and he may resemble some of them on first listen and impression, especially the tone of voice, when in Italy (and Europe) is precious and rare, but he is more than that 😉.. And it's also true that since his style is very unique and always different, his music may require several plays before it can really catch you (it also happened to me), but in the moment you start to understand his world and his voice really reach you (maybe after few times and knowing the lyrics, he is a great songwriter) you will become addicted to it and to him as a complete artist and person 🥰

Thanks for your comments. I live in israel but remember Festival San Remo as a kid with Rita Pavone and how I tried to learn Italian fromSan Remo songs. Italy send every year beautiful songs to the Eurovision but only with Mahmud they got to a second place in 2019. Italy is the land of fashion music (opera) beauty and elegance. Hi, nice reaction! Mahmood and Blanco are two excellent artists with separate careers, both have great songs that are quite different from this genre. If you are interested in something like Chills of I can suggest Rapide or Inuyasha; if you want to hear him on something different I recommend Barrio, Dorado, kobra (there is the video even if it is not a single) and above all Soldi (second classified at Eurovision 2019), on which I also recommend watching the lyrics. She also has many songs on other genres, a little more pop like gioventù bruciata, or il Nilo nel naviglio (there is no video). Se vuoi sentire invece un'esibizione live, che mostri qualcosa in più delle sue capacità canore ti consiglio l'esibizione a "la notte della taranta"

If you want to try something interesting from Mahmood, I think you should check "Milano Good Vibes" which has... a very cool vibe & sound. Late Mahmood is more produced, more mainstream and producers went a bit too heavy (for my opinion) on the "Metrosexual thug" take. He still produce a nice amount of good songs, tho' ("Rapide", for example). "Soldi" is his most famous song, he won another Sanremo Festival with that.

LMAO not "Mahmood has potential" when this is his 2nd time winning sanremo music festival and going to Eurovision in 3 years. His first win in 2019 impacted the festival and its perception which had typically skewed toward an older audience with more conservative music taste. Afterward, he had other songs competing in the festival but sang by other artists. Imo he set the stage for younger acts like Maneskin to win. I recommend checking out Soldi (his initial winning song) Rapide, Zero, Kobra, or Barrio.

U made a lot of interesting statements I would like to comment. They’re both Italian, but Mahmood is half Moroccan and even tho he never met his dad (who gave his surname Mahmoud, which he slightly changed as artist name) his music is clearly denoted by a northern-African vibe. For example he won Sanremo Festival (the most famous Italian song contest, which this song won this year) a bunch of years ago, with a song called Soldi (money) in which he really describes how does it feels to growing up without a dad but still having half of the family of another culture (it would be nice for u to hear that as well). Then, what to say, Mahmood has kind of a male soprano’s voice: it has a lot of shades and he learned to manage it really well. On the other side there’s Blanco, 18, unripe and calm that almost seems to be the adult of the situation. They even explained that with this song they didn’t even had in their mind to bring it to Sanremo festival but their family and friends told them. They both chose a gender neutral style to represent the mostly generational gap in which everything has to have a gender (this associate to the fact that in Italian every name has a gender and this impacts articles, adjectives, verbs etc), at least in Italy we really feel it.

Sorry my fault, I totally forgot about the origin but it doesn’t change a whole lot. Anyways what I meant is that he doesn’t have memories of his dad as he left when he was really young so it’s like he never met him. What he remembers is the culture of his Egyptian family, that’s where some of his influences come from.

Mahmood isn't half Moroccan. His father is Egyptian (he left the family when Mahmood was very young), his mother is from Sardinia and he grew up in the Milan suburbs. In "Sabri Aleel", originally an old Song by the Egyptian singer Sherine, which his father used to listen always in the car, he sings in Arabic with an Egyptian accent.

Hello from Italy! Yes, Mahmood is half egyptian, he had a really bad relationship with his father and he sings about it in the song SOLDI. He won Sanremo in 2019 or 2018, as a new artist and arrived 2nd ar Eurovision that year. Blanco is a stage name, obv, but his music is very different from this. Mahmood has certified every single released! presented an album full of experimentation and devoid of streaming feat (which he could have easily had), in which there are numerous certified songs!
