about 25 years ago my girlfriend and I were hiking in Fern Forest ( Pompano Beach, FL ) with a group of nature hikers sponsored by Broward County, when the walk was over several of us had permission to go deeper into the park and search for a bottle tree bush that held dozens of butterfly species. About 20 yards from the bush was a little creek. 10 inches deep little and 2 feet across. Somebody said we might see some Kilifish. Suddenly what looked like an underwater lightbulb caught our attention and when we got closer it was a Florida Flagfish, I'll never forget how bright and colorful that fish was. It was about 2 1/2 or 3 inches and the water was clear. Amazing in the wild with definitive markings and color saturation. I've had an interest ever since. Thanks for the video.

The Florida flagfish is a Republican fish🚩 my fish are Democratfish🔵 except for a single male festivum cichlid I have a male 3spot blue Gourami and his 2 females a gold and a Opaline 1 zebra danio and a single male festivum cichlid🚩.

Flags really do best on Hair Algae not so much BBA - Great outside - I bred them outside before and was very successful . Great fish imo overall

My Flags are doing great outside. My only tip would be to focus feed the fry when they hatch...they are not great swimmers at first and generally won't stray far from the bottom.

Hi Michael, I’d like to ask a question about panda corydoras, which I see you have stocked on your website. I should note that I am not a regular on KZbin so if you posted about them already I may have missed it. When you got your breeding group together, did you buy them from multiple sources? Does your breeding stock consist of wild fish?

I’ve got a male and two females in my planted community tank. They’re definitely a favorite. They regularly nibbled the roots on my floating Frogbit, Red Root, Dwarf Water Lettuce, Azolla and Duckweed. I gave up on all of those but my Jungle Val, Anubias, Crypts and Banana Plants resist them. I fed way more flake and my original female bloated. These 2 replacements seem okay. Maybe with fewer feedings they like to test the softer roots of the floaters.

I have had mixed success with Flag Fish and algae control. I had some Flag Fish a couple of years ago, and they took care of all the hair and black beard algae I had in a tank. I bought some more a month ago to take care of a hair algae issue in another tank, and they don't seem to be as eager in algae removal. Another option that has worked for me with BBA are Panda Garas. Best of luck with the Flag Fish pond!

So the flag fish are omnivores and eat BBA, but what about the other plants in the tank? Did they eat them? Nibble on them? Wipe 'em out? Tear them up? Or do they leave them alone so long as they're well fed on flake food? Or algae wafers? What has your experience been?
