My grandfather started on the Great Northern railway in 1948 and when it changed over to the Burlington Northern railway many many years later until he retired in 1988 he had over 40 years of railroading experience and I loved to hear that train whistle when he pulled the train into the station to switch out crews for the next run...I guess you can say that railroading is in my families blood!! My grandpa's dream was that one day 4 his kids and his grandkids to go to work for the BN railway now merged with Santa Fe to become BNSF railway...We sure do miss you grandpa and wish we would've followed in your footsteps...sorry trying to fight back the tears but I have so many memories...toot toot toot!!!!!

Thanks for providing our 2 year old grandson with all the train entertainment. He is obsessed with trains and tracks. We can never seem to catch one of our local trains going by (odd days and timing) so at least he can see them by watching your video! Nice work.

That is a busy area for trains in Definace and Bryan, plus north of Bryan just south of the Ohio Turnpike. Every time I go see my sister in Defiance, I'm never disappointed in missing some trains on the move. There is always a train or 2 crossing the road somwhere between North of Bryan and Defiance. Great area for rail fans. Great videos.

You mean Whiting Indiana is a dying town, and all the bells and horns are required since they will not upgrade crossings for quiet zones, not the railroad's fault. Also North America is the mirror image of European rail, inferior passenger but great freight, we (USA and Canada) carry 43% freight by ton-mile or metric ton - km (weight/distance ratio), the best among developed countries. Outside of Germany & Switzerland EU freight rail has problems (reference - the Economist 22-07-2010).
