Band Maid is indeed the best there is today, and I do not say that casually. The only band I have ever heard that was more proficient at making great song after great song is The Beattles. Yes, seriously. Most "Maidiacs" have 25-30 songs in their Band Maid top ten and after deliberating for over a year I have finally come up with my top ten and this song comes in at that ten spot. What does that tell you?!? So my fellow Maidiacs here is MY list, feel free to debate if you like. 🤔 1-Puzzle 2- Daydreaming 3- Secret my Lips 4- Blooming 5- Manners 6- YOLO 7- Awkward 8- I Can't live without you 9- Different 10- Domination For reference I did not include instrumentals or songs they did not write on their own. (made it easier 😂) Also, the Unseen World album is too new for me to place any other song than Manners. It requires more listens, yet I found Manners undeniable. I feel 6-10 are subject to change, but my top five is pretty concrete. 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂

I'll leave all the info I have about this, and hope no one else repeated too much about it. This was song 22 out of 23 in their set. They keep up this kind of energy the whole time. As you noticed, their fans really turn up for their shows and return the same energy back to them. They really love performing live and their fans love to watch them do it because of it. It creates a nice feedback. They have smiles on their faces the whole time and you can tell they're really loving it. The only one who stays serious is MISA on the bass, but she's trying very hard to keep everyone on time when they're all doing some crazy playing, so she has alot on her mind. But this time of the pandemic and being isolated has been very rough on them because they've had to cancel some big time shows, and they miss doing live performances. Akane (drummer) hosted a live stream this year for her birthday for fans to attend, and she lamented that they weren't on the road playing like they usually are for her birthday. She loves the show they have where they get to celebrate her birthday with the fans. When they gather around the drummer, and even other times, they are goofing off with each other trying to make each other screw up their playing. It's a little game they have as they like to prank each other fairly often. The live performance of "Freedom" on their channel shows this off alot. You even get to see Akane making some of the faces I'm talking about. You hear now why everyone loves their live performances. One thing to note is that the whole middle section where everyone was playing solos was added for their live shows. It does not appear on the album version, outside of the guitar part at the very end. They continue improving their songs, and they will not settle for things being 'good enough'. They are constantly trying to improve.

DarkChiron states... "This was song 22 out of 23 in their set. They keep up this kind of energy the whole time. As you noticed, their fans really turn up for their shows and return the same energy back to them." I will add that they are very disappointed that they have not been out on tour for over a year - they have only been able to do online concerts. They released a song for all us fans who are just dying to see them in concert. It's called ABOUT US - This will give you a very good idea of their talent and diversity. After that watch DIFFERENT and you will get both ends of their spectrum of work. Miku Kobato - RHYTHM GUITAR - plays Zemaitis C24MF ( Zemaitis Endorsement - with a Signature Guitar called Flappy Pigeon) - EVH Amps - Writes the lyrics - Has only been playing guitar for about 7 years. Was the singer but took a back seat voluntarily! KANAMI TONO - LEAD GUITAR - plays PRS Custom 24 (PRS Endorsement) - Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier. - Writes the music (one interview she states that she has a database - 2 years worth?!?!) Misa - BASS GUITAR plays Black Cloud "Smoker" and Privat Reserve (SG Style) bass - (Black Cloud Endorsement) Orange AB200B MKIII Amps Akane Hirose - DRUMS - Plays TAMA drums with Zildjian Cymbals - Roland KD-A22 (Possibly an Endorsement with TAMA and ROLAND) Saiki - VOCALS - Sennheiser microphones and DPA Microphones

Akane is so good, you could set your stopwatch to her. The other band members are pulling faces at her to put her off her timing, but it never works. I said it under another video, but you can never go wrong with watching Japanese bands live. Not only because of the musicians but also because of the people who work behind the scenes. The mixing, the direction, the editing, etc etc. It's also pretty safe to say that at least since the pandemic they're probably more popular "overseas" than in their home country Japan. While this looks like a big crowd, the venue (Line Cube Shibuya) only fits 2000 people and I think their biggest solo show so far was at Zepp Tokyo which fits about 4500 - 5000 people. In their last livestream concert they had an audience from over 40 different countries and while there are no numbers (as far as I know), I'd say the foreign fans were the majority of viewers.

Imo this and Freedom (fantastic drum solo) are their best official live videos. For mvs my all time fav is Choose Me, or Dice if you want to hear more bass. A really HUGE thank you for expressing your appreciation under the video of these ladies! Kudos for that, because I haven't seen that very often in many years! In general, regardless of the artist, this is a gesture that I think should be made standard for reaction channels when they really like something. 👍🏻 Besides the 5 ladies, there are (or at least there should be) a few invisible honorary members. And those are their live crew and post-production sound engineers. These people are doing a really great job indeed. Normally, I would have to recommend 'Play' and 'Freedom' right now, as these complete the trio of their most popular live recordings. But who wants to go with the flow, right? So I'll just recommend the MVs to 'Daydreaming' (my favorite) and 'YOLO'. :) See you then... 【 'Our rock never dies, ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】 🕊️

Check out the live Onset (WOW!) and a rare exception, watch Rinne official studio video. This is the only somg Ive came across where their official vid is better than the live where some is cut off and the venue is not as clear sounding..

Many of us have been lucky enough to see them live before the covid crisis. They play like this for nearly two hours, and as they don't have a bad song ... (usual fan's joke: "one day they will write a bad song ... perhaps ... anyway by the time I'll be dead").

The audio quality on this show isn't the best. If you want to hear what really good BAND-MAID audio sounds like, check out 'Real Existence' LIVE. The hudding around the drums and making faces at Akane is traditional. They're trying to mess her up on a hard part. Not a chance. Once she's locked in she is a banana powered Machine. If you want to see her drum solo check out 'Freedom' LIVE.

Yeah, Line Cube Shibuya was criticized for a bad mix. And I do agree with it. Kanami is often so low in the mix that she's almost inaudible. It's different in different songs, though. The situation is especially bad in Blooming, for example, where Kanami's 20-second solo is almost completely drowned. The best live disc in terms of quality is Shinkiba Studio Coast from November 24, 2017. ZEPP Tokyo from April 13, 2018, is also not bad. It seems the upcoming one, their Day-of-Budokan show, seems to be good as well, from the two songs published on their channel so far.

"Is it Live or is it Memorex"? No, it's just BAND-MAID, nothing new. They sound as good, and most of the time, better live.
