You’re gonna have to look it up so you can get familiar with it. Soyeon (Rapper) writes, produces and arranged the majority of the groups music. And she’s only 24 years old. She’s the only one the comes between me and Lisa lol. Yuqi - is Chinese main vocal, she has a very unique voice that makes her one of a kind. Miyeon- fun fact about her she was actually a member of Blackpink right before they debuted but left the company right before the debut happened and joined cube ent. Minnie - she’s from Thailand also a main vocal, she helps Soyeon on a handful of songs when it comes to writing as well and Yuqi. Minnie is close friends with Lisa Shue-ha - is Taiwanese and is the visual of the group she doesn’t get much time when it comes to singing but she’s beautiful And last but not least Soojin- main visual of the group and lead vocal unfortunately left the group at the beginning of this year. She’s extremely shy but when she gets on the stage she turns into someone different unique voice and very beautiful. Great reaction! They say G-idle in English interviews and Idle in Korean interviews. You can use either one. They’re the only self-producing kpop girl group in the industry. The rapper/leader, Soyeon, writes and produces nearly all their music. She also comes up with all the concepts for the music videos and even ghost writes for other kpop artists/groups. Members, Minnie and Yuqi, have also written and produced for the group. Definitely check out all their title tracks: oh my god, uh oh, hann, hwaa, latata, senorita, dumdi dumdi The live Queendom performance for Lion is also really good. The live stage actually came before the MV. This song was written by Soyeon for the show in like 10 minutes. Unfortunately the future of the group is up in the air. Their label, CUBE, recently got rid of Soojin(the one with the clawed back) over some he-said-she-said BS that happened when she was 12 years old. The company said that they’ll continue as a 5 member group, but we’ll see. Right now all the girls have gone back to their home countries and are doing their own things. Soyeon(rapper/leader) recently came out with a solo album. Definitely check out “is this bad bi***es number?” And “psycho”, but the entire album is really good FCK CUBE!

This song was written for the final on a competition show called Queendom they were the rookie group on the show the leader Soyeon wrote and produced it so she had to start working on it while they were still working on their first performance that life performance for it is also super good!

First, THANK YOU for checking them out! Deserve a like and sub as well. You can also check their LIVE performance on Queendom. SOYEON (short blonde hair) is their main rapper, leader, writer, composer, producer etc. And since she wrote most of their songs, there will always be story and meaning to it. She's conceptual and poetic thus she always wanted a song to sound and feels unique, and have a meaning either within or behind the lyrics. Some info about this song: (long comment) -LION was created by SOYEON for their final performance in QUEENDOM 2019, a competition for some girl groups, making LION technically a single, but due to their live performance and new song being liked, they shot an MV for it. -SOYEON wanted to watch the new Lion King movie, but cannot due to her busy schedule. It was sad to her so she wrote a song to be used for their performance with LION in it. She said that even though they're queens, they can still be lions. All the members loved the song when she presented it to them. -The song is generally talking about their journey and their position in the industry. They only debuted May 2018 but already gained a lot of rewards and wins. That is why on the 2nd verse (high note part by MINNIE), she said "...The young lion takes its crown..." -On the rap part, SOYEON literally said that they are ripping and tearing down the prejudice and that no one can stop it, that they created their own path no one has attempted before. This is because IDLE kinda breaks the norm and standards of kpop. Actually, SOYEON was said to be "the rebel" of this generation and the industry since she produces tracks that others don't or won't. During their trainee days, SOYEON doesn't want the members to blindly follow the singing/voice lessons, so that they can preserve their "individuality" which is literally the meaning behind the group's name. -Since they showed it, it was their point where they do not follow the standards blindly. Visible tattoos are not accepted openly in Korea, and more when you're in limelight. But ever since this song, SOOJIN (one with scars saying "I may turn violent") don't hide her tattoos anymore in their future performances and MVs (still have to in some events tho). Other members got tattoos as well and they're even posting and talking about it on the social media. -All of them sang the "pa pa pa" part stating that each of them wore the crown and were indeed lion queens. -For me, they kinda portray different types of "lions" in the MV that may or may not connect to the problems they're facing as idols (pls correct if necessary): (in order of apperance, they have names as well from the CC) ---MINNIE: lion being hunted down in the wild (jungle picture in the frame behind her), but she's not fazed from the arrows and spears thrown to her. MINNIE is a Thai idol, so that will can others to hate her (especially kfans) but she's still poised and goes on. ---SOYEON: caged lion put on for show barred with insecurities, hate, standards, etc. SOYEON explained that when creating songs, she have to hold back a bit, and thus cannot really show her full potential. She also have a lot of insecurities, one of them was being called ugly during her pre-debut days. ---SOOJIN: lion being hurt, but still being quiet and doesn't lash any anger, that's why she warned us that she may turn violent. In reality, SOOJIN was very shy and quiet, also an introvert of a person but has a kind and warm heart. She recently had issues that caused her hiatus, and as hurtful as it is to accept, she was kicked out of the group without even being defended, and their company lied and didn't explained or released a statement about the case. ---MIYEON: As you said, can be put on a frame, displayed for the show like in a circus, being teased and just for fun. Well, in reality....she was being teased by her members (they're all goofballs) and she likes to have fun. But since she was "old" to debut, others saw this negatively. Also, she was supposed to debut with Blackpink, but left since the debut was delayed multiple times, and this made her confidence low enough that she's not even talking with the members during their trainee days. ---YUQI: lion that was being praised as a god. The lines behind her hair may signify halos and mane. YUQI is another foreign member from China, and she's not just talented, but also damn smart. She's in the top section of the top school in China, but chose to be an idol. Thus others may look at her so proud while others don't like her (like a god or holy entity) since it is per person's opinion. ---SHUHUA: lion put up for display and ornament. She is another foreign member from Taiwan, so not only some kfans hated her but also some from China (as much as they love YUQI, they hated SHUHUA just because of their nationality dispute). SHUHUA was said to be the "visual" and only the visual since she asked SOYEON to give her less and easy lines due to her Korean pronunciation not good enough. So audiences noticed it and she was bashed either she got a Korean line with wrong accent, or simple lines saying "SOYEON hate her". But on her part, she was marching with warriors behind her, and that represents that though she looks fragile being the maknae, she's still the toughest and literally talks her feelings out in talkshows and their social media LIVEs. ~~~~~~~~~

They are among my favorites because they are so unique. I think they debuted a year later than BlackPink. Doesn't Soyeon (the rapper), write all their music? I recall she was on the show 'Unpretty Rapstars' before debut. Minnie is from Thailand. My bias is Yuqi (Chinese). Their first song was 'LaTaTa'. Their last 'Hwaa'. Soyeon and Yuki did solos.

Soyeon writes _almost_ all of their music, but only since the second album. She also conceives, co-composes, co-produces, helps with choreography. On their first album she wasn't established yet, so for most of the songs she's noted as co-writer, and she has no composing or producing credits except Latata; she is not involved with creation of Hear Me at all. The few songs that aren't hers from the second album onwards are written by other members under her tutelage: so far, Minnie and Yuqi.

Two years after Blackpink. They debuted in 2018, Cube didn't have a song prepared for the group so Soyeon took her time to write one for the group. It was was her FIRST time writing a song for a group and Idle managed to become the 2nd fastest girl group to win a debut award. That's very impressive coming from a company that is not as big as YG.

BUDDY, are you in for a TREAT! This rabbit-hole is AMAZING! That itty-bitty blonde rapper with the Hulk's lung power (Soyeon) is the one who wrote this. She's one of the younger members of the group but she is the leader because she really is their all-arounder. You may recognize the sound because two of the members were in a project with Riot Games. They are half of a fictional girl group called K/D/A with a song called Pop Stars. The animation in the music video blows EVERYBODY away and the live stage performance was even more wild! I thought you reacted to that mv already but I could be wrong. There have been more songs from K/D/A since then and Soyeon vocalizes in all of them (not sure if Miyeon vocalized for all of them).

It's G - like the letter, Idle (though some just call them Idle). You may know Soyeon and Miyeon from the group K/DA - they're an animated Kpop/American group from Riot, the makers of League of Legends. Two of the members, Leader/Rapper Soyeon and vocalist Miyeon provide voices for Akali and Ahri in K/DA (POP/STARS, MORE, THE BADDEST, I'LL SHOW YOU). Yet another rabbit hole to jump into, minimum commitment 3 videos: American-born KPOP artist *AleXa* with "Bomb", "Do Or Die", and "Revolution". Those are her 1st, 2nd, and 4th videos.
