Another Hispanic doll totally awesome I've seen Hispanic main characters on TV before like Handy Manny, Dora the explorer, Maya and Miguel, and I know a few Hispanic figures like Sonia manazano, Sonia Sotomayor, Cesar millian, George Lopez and I read a book about Frida kahlo along with Sonia Sotomayor by brad meltzer. I wonder if the new Hispanic girl year 2026 has autism like me because I really want American girls to be represented with disabilities.

Of course I’d be very happy to get another historical or GOTY doll of color. Senona is a beautiful name. I’d like her to have an African background since Gabriela was kind of a disappoint as far as just being a recycled Truly Me. It would be cool if we had a doll that aspired to work in healthcare, like volunteered at a community clinic.

An all new character has been trademarked. Sounds like AG is getting a head start to creating the 2026 Girl Of The Year when Summer hasn’t been released yet. On the other hand, we could be getting an all new historical character. Only Time will tell. 2026 will be the 40th anniversary of American Girl and also the 25th anniversary of Girl of The Year, so this has me wondering what 2026 will bring in terms of American Girl.

Tbh i really don’t want girl of the year and historical cross over I rather like GOTY being their own timeline and then historicals up until 1970s can be separate Courtney and the twins id be ok with sense AG exist in their worked and I prefer the GOTY existing in a world where AG history is fictional story’s

The character sounds interesting. Personally I think it would be cool if she were a story writter. She could be working on something for a writting contest for a chance to get her work published and a cash prize she can donate to her church youth group bc they need monet. She has lots of ideas and wants to use both her culter and other ideas for her work to show how others work together. Mabey idk.

Good question… I have no idea, but so far AG trademarked all the names they used for dolls, or at least filed for a trademark. I think some characteristics have “expired” names. I just want best friends to be a thing again.

flower and plant names can be trademarked because they are very commonly used as first names and no one "owns" the rights to use them. typically if a word/phrase/name is used very very frequently and has a long history of usage it's not possible for someone to take ownership of it, which includes trademarking it. it's not like the flowers themselves own the rights to their own names or anything. if that were the case then the name Summer probably wouldn't be able to be used either because it's a season name. nature names usually have no trademarks.

Honestly she needs to sell and if you get too minority and its made for children first then Truely Me would serve that need at a lesser cost and a greater variety. So I hope they stay true to form and then more families can relate to the doll. At least that is my perspective. Thank you!
