Ya think running to safety zone 1 was dangerous especially with tennis balls being shot at ya that's coming in excess of nearly 100 miles an hour try getting to a safe zone and accidentally getting hit in the eye with one of those balls as I saw it happen to a contestant with Gladiator Nitro manning the cannon and said contestant ended up with a scratched cornea as a result.

In 1993 Raidue had Il Grande Gioco dell'oca, sorta to be patterned to a Takeshi's castle with only 4 not-so-particularly prepared contestants and a game of the goose arena with multiple challenges, and Italia 1 countered broadcasting in the same friday evenings in late night slots American Gladiators with Dan Petersons commentary!
