I was not sure what set Turbo off at first, but still I agree with Mike on the fact that punch was completely uncalled for. Then to hear the ruling at first for Kyler. He was faking his jumps for you could hear Larry screaming for Kyler to go. When you get back on the platform and at the start, you have to go immediately. That was why I know for sure he would lose all 12 points he earned. But then to hear he would get half of them back for that punch. At least the referee was fair on both sides.

Sabre was very bad tempered as well. He had a heavy barbel set up and liked to win both matches then lift the weight straight after in the changing room on camera to boast about beating two grown men then lifting this weight. Anyway, one day a contender beat him and spoiled his showpiece so he demanded a rematch but because the contestant would have to expend energy for no further reward he refused so Lynn (Sabre) shoved him. Shocking. He would have never worked again on the British version but of course in the American version they did nothing. I know we had Wolf doing "pantomime" but this was bad temper because he just saw the contenders as bridesmaids for him.

@@jimmyboyzable yeah. I used to dislike Nitro the most but after binge watching a shitload of AG this past week I was really able to see the difference in behavioral patterns between Nitro and Turbo. Both overreacted way more than any other gladiators in the heat of battle but Nitro was noticeably quicker to let shit go after the whistle whereas Turbo not only went into events with a chip on his shoulder but also carried grudges past the whistle a hell of a lot more times than Nitro ever did.

I might have said this already. Had it been my call, I would have stopped the clock immediately stopped tape, have the medics make sure Kyler's okay. After that, the game continues with 22 seconds left, Turbo is removed from the game. If he wanted to come out after address the situation and apologize like he did. Fine. Larry Thompson's ruling was fair IMO. So I'll stick with that. Turbo gets a stern talking to and warned if anything like that happens again, he's off the show.

The front flip was after this event. If you look it up the commentator even mentions the punch and their "bad blood" just before he does it.

Turbo and Larry Thompson reminds me of Wolf and John Anderson from the United Kingdom version of the series and Larry had to deal with Turbo's bad boy attitude.

At first I thought what a oid raging douche. Then he apologized and it seemed he wanted to be disqualified for his actions. I can respect that.

I agree. Crap like that basically killed the show. As much as I like Turbo, you can't have a loose cannon on a show like this. In a way, it's kind of family oriented. Punching a contestant is the worst thing that could happen. The new version of NBC is not going to be able to get away with that crap. Not with the power of the internet and vocal fans. They've got to choose the new Gladiators carefully.

Did they really not brief the contestants on the rules? I feel like this isn’t the only time something like this happened, where a contestant unwittingly broke the rules and a gladiator got pissed.

There's one thing people of this show seem to forget about There's a video of Malibu he really tells it like it was 1st of all they were not protecting themselves properly all of them were taking performance enhancers which affected their moods Turbo especially This was one of the very few times that these guys Turbo especially got out of hand had it been like a regular sport he would have been fired instantaneous Nevertheless this kind of conduct is unacceptable he should have never done that

i'm not an idiot. i understand damn well what you're saying. however, i wasn't talking about the flip in breakthrough to begin with! i was responding to *gsdperson*'s post. they thought kyler was charged with picking up two balls in swingshot at once (which was not the case). i was explaining to that person why kyler was penalized; and he was penalized for fake-jumping off the swingshot platform.

Last week weren't they showing Season 3? I don't recall Turbo fighting a guy in Season 3. I think he had his first fight in Season 5. Didn't he? In Season 3 he was pretty good guy. No mess talkin or anything like that. He was actually the quiet one. Season 4, he was still good. He spoke a bit more, but really shined in S5.
