@@jkochosc I bet! I put crowns in every year. My patch is growing slowly as they get established, but that would be a fantastic problem to have in the garden.

Very good explanation,my biggest persimmon turned into a male,i have three smaller ones that are struggling because apfids and caterpillar attack them every year before new growth can grow,how can i keep them away.

Im so jealous.. I tried to grow from seed this year, but none sprouted. I live in Norway, and there is virtually no nurseries selling any cultivars or seeds here. I will try again next season, if I can find fresh seeds online 😊

Is there any way to determine the sex while they are small? I’m attempting to grow from seeds from the fruit.

There are no known methods for doing that short of genetic sampling. I wish there were! If I had a lot of resources I would research the question in a methodical way but alas...I have no such resources!

I think persimmon not to easy to graft. Low success
