Remember Burl's are not always at the base of the tree . Most pine burl I have found is up in the tree .

Love that burl! Just because there are no safety guidelines does not mean you can't use common sense. Stay away from the blade!

I think this looks more dangerous than it is. I have watched many of these videos and the man at the back never goes in front of the blade, always behind the blade. You could even touch the back of the blade without damage. The from of the blade is a different story. The aperture of the camera makes everything look shorter than it is.

Does the blade ever brake? I have a horizontal sawmill and when the blade goes, it's very violent. That man grabbing the wood would be in rough shape if that happens.

They have a market that caters to an elite group of clients worldwide that will pay top prices for things that showoff ancient old growth wood. The Japanese revere wood such as is shown here.

Usually pine is a rather plain looking wood, beautiful none the less but plain. But that pine burl is gorgeous. I wonder if it's like pretty much every other pine out there, 90% sap.

I love it!! I just love almost all burl and that was some very big slabs of it was well. I have never seen one as big as that though. Very beautiful!!!! So how long did you have it sawn before it was all sold?? lol I did really enjoyed it and gave your video a thumbs up

the guy needs a tail sawyer's hook made like a hay hook but the handles are straight with the hook so you can kook the saw line and lay the board down

The guy pulling the slabs scares the bajeebus out of me, reaching into the blade and always off balance is a recipe for disaster. If he had ever witnessed a blade shatter into the throat of a saw he would show it the respect it deserves. A saw blade can and will take large parts of your body and turn them into very small bloody bits in the blink of an eye. I know, I know the greater portion of the blade is soft and annealed but the teeth and forward portion are hard and I have seen them rip right off the blade at the right speed. If the end welds work harden the blade will become one long blade follows the route out of the saw and piles up on the table and the blade hits those hard portions and shears the teeth off they will spray out like bullets from an AK-47 loaded for bear. Heck the blade doesn't even have to do anything but be running for some dude getting careless and slips just that little bet too far and a tooth pulls him in for the rest of the blade finish the job. I will tell you it is no fun cleaning up a mess like that.

Это ладно, в Калининградской области был случай, такую же корягу на слэб распускали, сломалось полотно пилы, решил посветить в шель фонарем, металлический блеск в глубине, начали резать посигментно в ручную дабы увидеть что за железка там вросла, как дорезали посидели со страха! 120мм мина не разорвавшеяся! Мчс, менты, и.т.д шума было пиздец! Оказывается во время бомбежки в дерево попала без детонации, со временем дерево обросло в нарост больших размеров. Кароче пень взорвали на полигоне. 😊
