I'm late in responding and it's a bit confusing, but here it goes. This woman is Paula Woods - sister of Nathaniel Woods. In 2004 the police raided his home as a cracked home (yt censors) with him and another man there. Woods was in the kitchen and surrendered to police officers while the other man living in the homr shot and killed the police officers. So naturally Woods fled the scene. The entire trial was extremely dodgy. Woods never pulled the trigger or was involved in the loss of life directly. However he was convicted of four charges of capital murder and sentenced to death - the same as Kerry Spencer, the man who actually killed the police officers (and is still of death row). Woods was also offered a plea deal for 20-25 years in jail, but his lawyer misguided him and told him there would be no way he would receive capital punishment. So he turned down the plea deal. There are a lot more concerns regarding if this raid was targeted, if the cops were looking to blackmail, or other things that were happening behind the scenes. However, I do not know if anything has been factually proven and I do not feel right stating it here. The person who committed the murder, known people in the area, civil rights leaders, and so many others came to Kay Ivy (The Alabama Governor and woman in the video) asking for a pardon for this man. He did not commit this crime directly. So why him? And why were they executing him first when the man who actually committed the crime was still there? Another huge controversy in this was that his state appointed appellate lawyer basically abandoned him by failing to file a brief on his behalf, consequently preventing the Alabama Supreme Court from reviewing his case. He didn't learn of this until months after the deadline to file had passed. When he was provided legal aid that would actually help him, they petitioned the Alabama Supreme Court, and later the United States Supreme Court, both courts refused. Essentially his constitutional rights were abandoned, refused, and taken away. As the governor of Alabama, Kay Ivy was in a situation where she could have easily stopped his execution. In the weeks coming up to it more evidence came out that supported his innocence in the direct crime. It became widely known. When she was given this chance she responded with, "He was an integral participant in the intentional murder of these three officers" and a "known drug dealer." In that clip, his sister basically told Kay Ivy what she did. It was a tragic story.
