Whatever side you are on, I think we can all agree everyone singing the national anthem as a chorus is way better than some awkward individual singing it in front of everyone being quiet.

The lyrics were written from the perspective of a single person watching the war happen around them. I think it defies the song's meaning to sing it in a group. But yeah it sounds better probably.

She might have sounded good in practice, but got nervous when it was actually time to perform. If you get too in your head you can lose your key center.

I dont get why singers dont just have the melody or some other thing that reminds them of the pitch they are supposed to be singing playing in an ear piece. Its the same idea as having a click track.

The girl singing the national anthem didn't necessarily have a bad voice, in fact she was very good at sustaining notes and her belting was powerful. She was just so damn out of tune that it was embarrassing to see her up there.

Sometimes it's hard to hear yourself in a situation like that. Plus, she was nervous. This is why singers often wear ear pieces so they can hear themselves better.
