Funny that Claudia mentions about the origins of her name, cause Expósito also comes from latin. Expositus means exposed in latin. Basically it was a second name given to babies abandoned by their family. My latin teacher taught me that (Im spanish) My second name is López which comes from Lupus (wolf in latin) 😍

Words like phone, photo, dolphin, graphic and philosophy originated in ancient Greek. So why "ph" and not "f"? I will try to explain. "Ph" and "f" may sound quite similar, but they are written differently so they can be distinguished from eachother. A "ph" is expressed by using both lips, known as a bilabial. An "f", by contrast, is expressed using the lower lip against the upper front teeth, called a labiodental. An "f" may be more powerful and more obvious than a "ph", so an "f" may be the reason why it is preferred.

It's really sad that the "Spanish" girl has no idea about basic things in Spanish culture and also her pronunciation of Spanish is really weird. Claudia (or Claudio) comes from the Roman gens "Claudia" from "claudere" meaning "to close". The name was associated with being impaired only after Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus became emperor because he walked with a limp. Alba Flores is the granddaughter of Lola Flores, a very famous folk singer. Her father was the late musician Antonio González Flores, her aunts Lolita and Rosario are also very famous singers, and well as her aunt Carmen Flores. Flores is not a gypsy surname, there are no "gypsy surnames", and there is a rather interesting documentary on Spanish TV Movistar+ named "Lola" where all the family explains their relation with gypsy culture and the fact that Antonio González (Lola's husband and Alba Flore's grandfather) was gypsy but Lola was not.

@@victoriat7961 she didn’t use Gitana she used the English version which is the one that’s the problem. Had she used gitana there wouldn’t be a problem. English isn’t my native language either but I’ve learnt that somethings are offensive. I’m not policing her Spanish just pointing out the fact that in English the language she spoke for the video is where the g word is a racial slur.

Gitana has the same connotations in Spanish than in English. In Argentina a gitana is a gypsy woman with a very long skirt who ask for money to tell you your fortune. And gitanos are a group of people who usually sell very dubious cars and buses. Everything in America is now a racial slur. But in Latin America and Spain those words have a different use, not so offensive. We say negro to a friend with affection (not because he is black, but because he is moreno or his hair is dark), we could say Chino to anyone (because of the form of his eyes), here is very common to call Turco (to Arabs), Ruso (to Jews). It's the way it is.

@@julianbeltran4200 again I’m not saying gitano is a racial slur but the word in English she used is the problem. I’m Mexican so I get the nick names for different people bilirrubina the problem is she said the word in English which is a racial slur and romaní people have told non Roma to stop using it.

@@julianbeltran4200 Loida es de Argentina y ha dicho en el pasado que le molesta mucho cuando la gente de allá le dice china. Ella lo considera racista y ofensiva porque ella NO ES CHINA. I find it weird that so many Latin Americans think calling everyone with slanted eyes chino/Chinese is okay then complain because some Americans call every brown Spanish speaking person from Latin American as Mexicans. Same ignorance.

I don’t like how Claudia described Alba Flores. For me, it was a bit racist. Alba is Lola Flores’ granddaughter, the daughter of the fabulous singer-songwriter, Antonio Flores. I mean, maybe she got lost on translation, I don’t want to blame Claudia
