American Psycho was the reason why Bale was chosen for the Batman role in the TDK trilogy!! Honestly,there is lot of similarities!!

I always thought this movie was kind of sad. Yes, it's a dark comedy, but it's a dark comedy about emptiness. A man who lacks such definition of himself that he espouses the genius of Hewey Lewis and the News because they are on the Top 40 Charts, who can only see himself the way others see him, who is terrified of having a subpar business card. The film felt like an indictment of Gen X consumer culture. He becomes less of a person because he does not know how to be a person. It's funny in the way that watching a clown binge drink himself to death is funny.

I guess this movie was okay, it really upset me that when I watched it with a coworker his shoes weren't polish and his handkerchief was sticking out of his pocket. I do think that the film really came together in the third act, the director's style was impeccable, and the ambiguity was impressionable. After watching it I went to Dorsia, where I ordered the chef's special, creamy pesto shrimp. Unfortunately for him, it was undercooked. I'll be paying him a visit at his loft on 23rd tomorrow evening.

Bale was bloody brilliant in this film. Such an under appreciated actor IMO. One of the greatest of his generation.
