What a lot people who aren't in metal don't realize is that metal singers are usually extremely skilled and trained, because they need to know how to control their voices to do all those things you associate with metal vocals without doing damage to their voices. So most of them are capable of singing quite well traditionally. Now, they're not all on Dan's level, because he's something special. But yeah, metal vocalists in general are highly trained.
@Not.X.Not.Y.But.Z7 ай бұрын
I see a very close correlation between metal and classical music. The vocal range and breathing control is so similar.

This master Brazilian artist crafted this so skillfully that he takes us along on a journey of faith from the beginnings of belief to the assurance as we stand at the Throne of Heaven. This is the best version of this song I will ever hear. He has worked for years to perfect that voice and his vocal toolbox seems to have no limits. He has stated he is a Christian and put this out for Easter. For Christians who want more faith stuff from the mostly secular artist, try "Adeste Fideles", "For All" "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "Hallelujah" (Handel's). For secular stuff where he covers metal songs or just gilds a song in metal try pretty much any of the 200 videos he has out there. His stuff is fire. The harmonica was a gift from his father in childhood. His dad passed in 2017. And yes he can sing opera. ex. "Nessum Dorma"

What a journey Dan took us on. A new follower humbly grateful for God's mercy and his tentative steps into a life of faith, through all the growth and refinement of trials faced, he sensitively portrayed the a growing trust and accompanying strengthening of power following Christ's teachings. He then depicts the moment when the believer becomes a knower, in Glory, face to face with the Father. This is when a Victory anthem is born in Dan's interpretation of this humble hymn. The repetition of the first verse is a tender affirmation of the peace that comes with a choice vindicated and the satisfaction of your faith fulfilled. I am still a little breathless even minutes after this brilliant performance. Perhaps this is the way this song should always be sung. "Was Blind, but now I see!" I have enjoyed Dan's version of several songs of which are "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher", "Kiss From A Rose" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Disney's movie Mulan to name a few. BTW the harmonica was a gift from his late Father and this Hymn was his Dads favorite.

Daniel sang this song the way it was meant to be sung, forever. It is a testimony to the evolution of faith: at the beginning we see the reverent shyness of a recent convert and at the end we see the joy of the son who - recognized and accepted - gratefully throws himself into the Father's arms. Dan is a musical genius - he takes any song he wants and turns it into something better. He becomes the song he sings. He commented that as his faith grew stronger, he began to choose his versions more carefully so that he could bring people only high vibrations of joy, hope, real power and gratitude. Thank you for your reaction. Greetings from Curitiba - Brazil.

I was raised in a church also and I have heard Amazing Grace hundreds of times and the way this man sang it was remarkable. I am the furthest thing away from being a metalhead, but this man's voice was beautiful and his performance of the great old song was flawless. BTW, any time a song is played that has a good message, you can bet that something will come along and try to distract you so you won't think about the lyrics. I'm glad you recognized the distraction for what it was and pulled your thoughts back to the song and OFF of the man's teeth.

First time I’ve seen your channel but I’ve watched this video now at least 50 times on different channels. I’m a Christian and I’ve also sung this song for YEARS, and still do, and tears flow every single time. God’s word will not return void! I heard what you said and if I could say, please get back to Jesus! Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Jesus doesn’t want us to “just go to church”, to feel good, HE wants our lives. I know you know this and again would just say Jesus is worth it all! Eternity is forever, and we better be prepared to stand before HIM! I also will say if you ever want to speak about this in person, I’ll meet you anytime and anywhere you’d like! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! HE’s returning soon

I agree about the "Jon Snow" look-alike comment--quite similar, I think. What's even more strange, is that he also looks almost identical to my nearly-19-year-old grandson (one of my 22 grandkids + five great-grands). Ethan even looks almost completely (even his build) like Dan himself did at age 19! It's very striking. Everyone who knows Ethan, who has seen videos of Dan, agrees. I've sung this song 100s of times in my 73-1/2 years (solos and choirs). I've listened to it 100s of times more. As far as I'm concerned, Dan's version is THE best. I'm impressed that he used several of his many excellent voice styles to also show the gradients of the journey from not knowing/ignoring God, to understanding more, then to finally giving in to the POWER of Almighty God. Dan's all about POWER, by the way. I hope you'll react to more of his amazing treasure trove on his channel (not all metal...he has quite an eclectic range of taste in music, as well as the ability to sing it all). His last name sounds like vask, by the way (as in ask, mask, task, flask, etc.). Enjoyed your reaction(s). Am subbing.

Always amazes me how dismissive people can be of metal. Take Axel Rose, 5 octaves and 5 semitones. He can sing very low notes starting from F1 and very high notes up to Bb6. Bruce Dickenson of Iron MAiden, estimated vocal range of 4.25 octaves. His voice led to the nickname "The Air Raid Siren" You're already familiar with Floor Jansen, nothing needs saying about her voice. Quite a number of Metal Guitarists are classically trained too. It takes a lot of talent to play that well that fast man.

Dismissive? I thought it was downright insulting to say that he thought he was pulling a switchblade out of his pocket, when Dan brought out his harmonica. I actually really like this version of Amazing Grace (but wish he would have actually done it live); it’s such an iconic song, and it’s been covered by hundreds of great artists over the years. Reminds me that we should never ‘pigeon hole’ any artist into ‘their genre’. If you haven’t already, you should consider reacting to Disturb’s live version of the classic Sound of Silence - you WILL NOT be disappointed! Gotta say tho.. as much as I’ve enjoyed your music videos.. I’m off your subscriber list now after hearing your quite unnecessary and ‘off the cuff’ clown comment… it would be more appropriate perhaps to just be respectful.
