Tioneb's 2nd round was a mix of a round Saro did earlier in the comp. Yes, Saro was unknown before this comp.

It's hard to explain without you having been in the scene at the time, but Saro literally changed what people thought was possible on the Machine. People had been using that Machine for YEARS and nobody was doing what Saro was doing. NOBODY. You can even go back and watch the 2016 Finals (and it's even more crazy looking at the 2014 or 2015 finals as well) and the jump is just insane. Like there is Loopstation before Saro and Loopstation after Saro - his impact is literally that crazy.

It is. The opponent just wasn't anywhere near the same level and the video didn't get as many views. Saro does a bit of rapping, so I get the feeling Tioneb was trying to match saro from that round. Saro won, but Tioneb being able to remix that is absolutely ridiculous as well.

Tioneb is very underrated in the viewership community, but he has so much respect in the beatbox/loopstation community because he 1) Does a lot with a little (his tracks often aren't overly complex, but sound great), 2) He is *known* to do remix tracks of his competitors, even after only hearing them once, and 3) He doesn't really do covers, which for a long time was extremely common, most of his vocal work is his own.

I said in last video, Saro was unknown at the time and the reason people where going so crazy is because he was creating music and doing stuff people had never seen or heard before, traditionally it was a lot more beat boxing based with lyrics or raps. Also when Saro dropped the MJ he dripped the track he'd built up in reverse! Thats why you kinda recognised it but didnt. (Back then some of the artists made things up on the spot to "battle", especially Tioneb, but after this tournament it was a lot more prepared tracks to perform) This was a kind of a passing of the torch and took looping in a totally new innovative direction-IMO... You should really go back to watch a lot of the earlier pioneers that Set the foundations, Got to say Thorsen is a favourate of mine 👊

If you wanna get up on Loopstation stuff, probably one of the craziest upsets in loop history was SO-SO vs. Beatness in GBB2019. SO-SO from Japan busted out some shit on the loop that no one had ever anticipated, and he's massive now. The crowd fucking lost it bro. I have never seen an opponent just look so absolutely baffled and defeated in a loop battle before when they heard their opponents first round and just pretty much knew it was a wrap cause he didn't know wtf was going on. It was the best.
