This was D-Low's toughest battle in 2019 in my opinion and I think that if Colaps didn't get D-Low in the quarterfinals that they likely would've met in the finals. Colaps is a juggernaut in his own right and he ended up winning the next GBB in pretty dominant fashion.

Colaps is now the reigning GBB champ and he had an absolutely sick run thru in 2021. His solo and tag team battles are all insane. He and his tag team partner, River, competed in tag team beatboxing under the name Rogue Wave. They have some of the cleanest technicality of all duos

Eeeeesh! The biggest thing about this battle that ppl don't really talk much about (when they react) is how both of them repeat parts of the opponent's routine as an attack to show "I can do that too" and they reserve a part of their own time to pull of that move. Huge battle, crazy drops, completely recommended for anyone that's actually getting down that rabbit hole.

If you search YT for it, the "SBX Kickback Battle 2021 Winner's Compilation" (video link removed to preserve comment, but full title below) is one of the most reacted-to showcases of D-Low's incredible talent out there. It plays somewhat like a H Mack video, in that it's 14 minutes and contains all of his battle rounds. In it, he really demonstrates a great mix of both his musicality and technicality in competition. Very enjoyable all the way through, and is one of the classics for bbx reaction followers. One insider tip that most don't know going in (not a spoiler): During the round where he says "...but I'm also a Looper" and proceeds to "load" sounds into a loopstation... that's actually a battle move; he's NOT ACTUALLY USING THE LOOPSTATION. He's only pretending to, and he's actually producing that many polyrhythms live without looping or overlays, he's just THAT good. I think this was an amazing tournament - but I don’t think the winners video / highlights video gives enough perspective and he would be better watching the rounds. D-Low did some awsome counters and parody’s of the other persons routines in pretty much ever battle but you wouldn’t know this by watching his highlights alone. I think he’d be far better starting with the seeding round - to get a good intro to all the participants and a range of artists he’s not seen before, and then watch the rounds /battles on different episodes to get more of a feel of the actual battles, routines and counters etc 👍

​ @jimkhana007 here's the difference: as someone who has been listening to beatboxing, following the artists, watching the competitions, and helping spread the word about the art for years, I agree with you. HOWEVER: BP, Don, and much of this channel's large userbase aren't dedicated fans like we are, and one of the big reasons beatbox has stayed so "underground" that even Hip Hop heads don't realize it's been here the whole time has been due in large part because the art has been mostly focused on the technical side, which is difficult for the untrained ear to understand. Classic beatboxing's listenability to the general public is very low, and repeat listenability even lower still. What D-Low, Sho-Go, Den, MB14, and a BUNCH of others have been doing is to bring musicality into the genre in a very palatable way that bridges nicely between the old heads and those that are unfamiliar with "modern" beatboxing. In D-Low's Winner's Compilation, each round sounds more "like a song" in terms of structure and phrasing than his opponents do in those battles. That doesn't mean the opponent's rounds weren't good AT ALL (much respect to all the competitors), however they are far more technical than musical. For people being introduced to modern beatboxing, the Winner's Compilation exposes a lot of new things while still captivating the audience, ad doesn't risk turning them off completely through listeners' fatigue when they hear too much that they don't comprehend. Hope that makes sense :)

Since they like battles, they might enjoy seeing D-low vs Zekka in its entirety (and some of the other battles if there’s enough interest.) D-low does so many counters and references it’s confusing for new viewers to just see the compilation. Like so many reactors think D-low is actually using the loopstation vs Rhythmind when they see the compilation. If the other beatboxer is less their style, the rounds are short and it emphasizes what makes d-low good and builds anticipation for how he’ll respond.
