@@swainmoneyy He paid 2.7 million. He didn't even have to do that, because the song was released as a free gift for ARMY, so he made no money off the track, meaning he did not have to pay for the rights. He did it anyway, out of respect. That's just the kind of people BTS members are. Also, when they collab with other artists, they do not pay labels. They pay the artist. And they always have a deal that they will swap collabs, so often if you see they collabed with an artist on a BTS or solo member's song, you can look and find the corresponding swap they did on that artist's own song, unless they have not done one yet because the right song just didn't come up for them yet. When they collabed with Megan thee Stallion on the Butter remix, she had to go to court to fight her own label, because they were mad that BTS was paying HER and not them. So BTS sent their own lawyers to help her.

LOL. Okay. Finally subscribed. You took time to do the Guide and you gave it your full attention. My favorite was your face going from how sweet RM was saying "I love you" to ARMY then it transitioned into Suga's Deachwita speed rap. LOL. Priceless. Also, when you almost instantly followed RM on Insta! 💙Whatever you do moving forward, thanks for having an open enough mind to give them a sincere chance. Especially after starting with their Uber Pop songs (which are my least favorite out of their 400+ discography fr). Those are the main reason their image as KPOP Boy Band persists. Which gives them no credit as the versatile global artists they are. They started out as HipHop then added vocals and choreo of the KPOP world at a time that wasn't really done. As a result they were shunned by both the HIPHOP and the KPOP worlds. So they said screw it, we'll do our own thing. Which they did and they did it well. Now all the KPOP try to use the same format. They also only get pigeon holed into KPOP because music industries don't want them competing with their American Pop Stars so they won't award them things unless under KPOP categories. It really gets old. You'll see once you get to see more of what all they do. They do still do the lives on weverse. But now that they are in the military so we won't get much. JK still takes requests and sings live for us from his living room. V still goes live and plays music he's listening to. RM still goes live to talk about what he's working on. Yoongi isn't on much but still just comforts army and tells us about what he's up to and went live to eat with us each time he finished his DDay tour in each country. Jimin hangs with army and makes crafts with us. Jin tells us about his exploration of foods and delving into making and distilling alcohols. Hope shares what he's up to and the processes involved in making his album. They definitely spoil us. Even being gone, we are getting little gifts all the time that they prepared form before they went into the service. They really are not normal. V just made an impressive video with IU called Love Wins All that is huge right now so you should check that out. I REALLY think you would like RM's song Do You. This is version with Eng Subs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH-TkGWgrrSasMksi=5LvkqvZ2D1JwSicD For sure, JOKE (but use this link because if you get the one with bad subs, kind of pointless). kzbin.info/www/bejne/hamwo3WEd7yeqa8si=zvBFvTbzfI3l4sq2. But also.... since you knew Wale. One of my fave collabs is RM's CHANGE with Wale. I like this link. Even though they both do all English, RM's was still difficult to make out some of it and all the lyrics from both are fire, of course: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2i9gniimKd1jJosi=w7U2QNbnbNLIqpRu. Also their song Ugh (about being mad about anger wasted on things that mean nothing like just hating on others; but then also being mad about anger that suddenly disappears when it would be needed to bring about needed changes to make the world better.) And Ddeang (watch or read an explanation of this one to discover how lyrically clever and brilliant RM is in it) which again, kind of them going off on haters. The haters never stop, but they eventually stop responding... these earlier songs are fun when they were still fired up enough to speak their minds so playfully. The Cyphers all respond to haters too, but by Cypher 4 they basically say, they've grown enough to not waste their time them. Their versatility is the best from a fan standpoint. If there is something you don't like, just try the next thing. No two songs are the same, as BTS or in their solo work. It really is a fun journey. 💜

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people counted age differently to others... Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted. In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became member of BTS) Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo) Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo) Suga started with MIDI at 11 JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)JHope started dancing at 8 RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13 Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo) V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo) JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) JK signed with big hit at 13yo Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. The Korean Government has recently (June28) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age. 💜Have a great day

They call Jin "silver voice" because pure silver is actually more rare than gold. What they were saying is that he has a rare, uncommon voice. He was so embarrassed when Super Tuna went viral. It was supposed to be just a jokey, fun song for ARMY but it went crazy. Right now all 7 members are doing their mandatory military service, so we dont get lives right now. Jin went in first, hes due to be out in June of this year, with the latest to go (RM, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook) due back in 2025. I hope you will get to know them through their music. BTS: DNA ON Black Swan Cyphers 1-4 Magic Shop Solos: Wildflower: RM The Astronaut: Jin Haegeum: Suga More: J Hope Set Me Free, Pt 2: Jimin Rainy Days: V Standing Next to You: Jungkook Thats just a really small list of some of my favorites. FYI - "Most iTunes # 1s" means number one in the most countries, because every country has their own chart. So 100 iTunes # 1s means number 1 in 100 countries, and so on. Commenting as I watch. Comments split in two because KZbin is a tyrant. 15:48 RMs current Korean song copyright count is 218. He has the 2nd most song copyrights in Korean history. I believe Suga's count is at 167 right now. j-hope is at 139. The rappers are the three main songwriters and producers in the group. Their pace of work has been breakneck. In the last 11 years, they have put out 20 albums as a group and 11 solo albums among various members, plus many OSTs, covers, singles, collabs and unofficial releases, plus global touring, music shows, variety shows, their travel shows, their vlogs, etc. They have hundreds and hundreds of songs. Five of their solo albums are "mixtapes" but, except for the first one, RM's self-titled "RM" they are not traditional mixtapes at all. They are all completely original and high-quality works of art and more albums than mixtapes, but all released as free gifts for ARMY and each has high quality MVs for at least a couple singles. RM is still a great mixtape too, but more in the traditional sense of rapping over other artists' beats and melodies with original lyrics, but still with some great quality MVs. We are expecting a new album from him soon, as he was working on it a long time before he enlisted and told us it would be coming out after he left for the military and recently he has been dropping more hints on his IG that it's coming soon. So that will be the 12th solo album. His IG is rkive. 18:52 RM did not compete for his audition. Producer Bang was so impressed with his talent and genius as a 15 year old kid, that he signed him on the spot. Suga came in second to a rapper named Supreme Boi, who was in the original Hip Hop lineup for BTS, but chose not to continue with the group and instead became a producer at Big Hit and has worked on many BTS songs. Suga is one year older than RM, but both were still in high school when they became trainees and moved into the dorm. In fact, all BTS members were still in school when they signed with Big Hit and moved into the dorm together. Jin, the eldest, was a college freshman, all the rest were in high school, except Jungkook, who was just 13 when he signed and still in middle school. He says 15 in this guide, and that is because S Korea counted age differently until just last year. You were 1 at birth and then another year older at the new year in January. So you add 1-2 years on for global age counting, depending on how close to the new year they were born. Jungkook was 13 when he moved far from his home city and into the dorm with his BTS brothers, and just 15 when BTS debuted with him as their lead vocalist. Jin used to get up early every day and make the younger kids their breakfast and lunch for school and drive baby brother Jungkook to school. BTS are such an adorable family of brothers. 19:20 Yoongi played basketball in school. He loves BBall and could be seen courtside in the US for games whenever he had the chance. He even has a song that uses all basketball sounds as percussion. The NBA named Yoongi/Suga their first ever Global Brand Ambassador. 24:35 Since this came out there have been some revelations about him and dancing. He never really wanted to avoid dancing and is actually the best dancer of the members not in the official "Dance Line." He even used to break dance (or B Boy) with j-hope for fun when they were trainees. However, while still a trainee, he was secretly moonlighting as a motorcycle delivery person to help pay his school fees which his family could not afford, and he got in a bad accident. He was struck and dragged by a delivery truck in the rain before dawn one day. His shoulder was shattered and dislocated. He lied to the company and to his other members and said he just fell down some stairs and he downplayed his injuries. He did this because he was not supposed to be working an outside job and because he was afraid he would be let go if they knew how badly he was hurt, and he was also very afraid that this would also mean his brothers would not be able to debut, since they had been preparing all their music and choreography for 7 people. The company was hanging by a thread financially at this point, mortgaged to the eyeballs, and they had already told the boys to go home because they could not afford to house them anymore. But the guys refused and were scraping together money doing whatever gigs they could get like backup dancers at mall fashion shows, and they were working their asses off round the clock getting ready to debut. So he lied, and he hid the pain for years. A tremendous act of will when they all lived together in a small apartment. We knew he was grumpy and tired a lot and didn't want to dance, and we called him a grumpy cat, but we didn't know why. Here is Yoongi/Suga telling the guys about his accident years later. Watch their faces as they realize what he is saying and what he must have gone through in pain and silence for years. They even mention here how he said something about his shoulder in a song and now they understand what it meant. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH3Rkp2bh5aBa7c Eventually it got so bad he could not lift a coffee mug or water bottle with his left arm and he had to get injections in his shoulder before performing. In 2020 he finally got surgery to reconstruct the shoulder and he is doing so much better now. Here is a choreography he made last year just for fun, to one of his solo songs from his album D-Day. It gives you an idea of how much he actually enjoys dancing now that he is not in pain. The song is Haegeum and you can watch this without sound if you have not listened to the song yet. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZquxY4yupLWhepo 25:10 This song, Nevermind, means so much to Jimin that he took that line "engrave it on your chest" to heart, and he has NEVERMIND in large letters tattooed across his ribs. 27:28 j-hooooooooooope!! Sorry, had to be done. He is my bias. 💜 31:00 He also has a song called On the Street which is a collab it J Cole, his idol. VLive doesn't exist anymore. Big Hit created their own platform for BTS to protect them from abuse and protect their IP and it swallowed VLive whole. Now all the Korean artists and actors are on Weverse, Big Hit's platform. However, their old livestreams, shows, and Bangtan Bombs, etc are available on Weverse or their KZbin BangtanTV, or both. They were still livestreaming with us regularly before they had to leave for the military. They are not allowed to do that again until they get out. We miss them a lot. 33:09 They have a lot more followers now. BTS - 71.6 mil ~ As Solists ~ V - 16.98 mil j-hope - 16.9 mil RM - 15.9 mil Suga/Agust D - 13.7 mil Jungkook - 12.8 mil (Most streamed K soloist of all time, 4 billion streams) Jimin 7.4 (fastest Korean soloist to reach 1 billion streams, most streamed soloist in S Korea) Jin - 7.4

Part Two 35:20 Visual is a thing in KPop where very attractive members are official "visuals" for the group, being a charismatic leading face. In BTS, they were not assembled like other KPop groups in many ways and one way they differ is that the majority of members did not fit the exacting KPop beauty standards. They were chosen on talent. Jin is the one exception who was asked to audition because of his amazing looks even though he had no musical background. He was in school for acting but Big Hit lucked out and he turned out to be a pure diamond vocalist in the rough. BTS were very harassed and attacked over their looks in their early years when they were all still teenagers, including targeted personal attacks, and called "The Ugly Idol Group" by haters. Objectively of course, they are all beautiful men. Ironically, when they started to break big in the West they were called too pretty and accused of wearing heavy makeup and having had lots of plastic surgery (they have had no surgery, we watched them grow up.) There is a racism component in that, as calling Asian men feminine, too pretty, etc is a common racist trope. Anyway, they are all objectively gorgeous and starting to change the unreal beauty standards for Korean Idols just by existing as themselves. 36:35 They adorably covered Young Wild and Free and called it Graduation Song when they were still just trainees, before they debuted. Jungkook is singing in this song about just graduating from middle school. A literal baby. They are singing their cover version in the clip from the guide. It's Jungkook, Jimin and j-hope singing in this MV, and j-hope had just graduated from high school, while Jimin is still in high school and JK had just graduated from middle school. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rICUeYqebqhkrZo 37:38 Silver voice is a compliment, because of his pure and bell like quality. He is also known for his emotional delivery of breathy ballads or power belting. 38:36 Moon is one of their many songs written for ARMY. In the song he is the Moon and ARMY is the earth he orbits around, shining just for us. He is such a sweetheart. They all are. 39:48 Car Door Guy, Third from Left and Front Door Guy are things people called him when his pictures and videos went viral for his looks but people didn't know his name. He found the whole thing hilarious, that he was considered handsome outside Asia. So he makes a big joke out of calling himself WWH, World Wide Handsome, but he is actually quite shy. His ears often blush red when he does these flirty things, throwing kisses and calling himself WWH, but he does it to break the ice or for fans. 43:00 Bringing joy is exactly BTS' purpose as well. Big Hit's motto is Music and Artist for Healing and BTS has a self-imposed mission to bring love and healing to the world through music. Above all, they just want to share their love with ARMY, always. 43:30 Multiple members have had pink hair. You can't learn them by their hair. They change it A LOT. Just take your time and learn their faces and voices. 45:08 Yep! LOL A Baby. This was in 2011 and he was 13. He signed with Big Hit later that same year and he was 13 when he signed and moved into the dorm apartment. He didn't make it through auditions for the talent contest show because he was too shy. He is still the shyest member. He says he joined at 15 in the clip, but that's Korean age counting. 54:30 Oh yeah baby, he's like that. He loves Jazz and R&B and Neo Soul. He also loves Hip Hop, like all the members, but his music is clearly in the soulful range. 55:10 That means the song holds the record for number 1s in the most countries.

In vocal circles, a silver voice is a very high compliment. When first shown in USA people didn't know who he was and in trying to find out who this handsome guy was, his pictures went viral in social media and they used those hashtags to ask and those pictures. Hint: DO NOT try to identify by hair color as they change constantly, LOL We have all made that mistake. Super Tuna was for fun, A lucky fishing song. Army's are everywhere! We are strong, good humans. WE have been here caring about our fellow man always, we needed the light BTS shines on the world to make it easier to find each other. There ARMY groups in every state and almost every country, you saw the map. Here in FL. there are several and they work on getting together while BTS is in the military, charity functions, and just checking in with each other. I am 70 yrs old and never really listened to much pop music, until BTS!

31:33 "He can dance a lot better than any of the dancing videos that i've seen on Tictok or... He can dance. " OMG Of course he CAN dance : ) J-Hope's dancing skills are not merely on the level of being good for a singer; he is a street dancer recognized by professionals, a master in his own right. Comparing his dance skills to those of TikTok dancers, TikTokers would not be upset by the comparison but rather consider it an great honor : )

@@swainmoneyyHe actually talked about it on his show Suchwita a couple of weeks ago. He said the rappers were given 3 beats to choose from so he chose the best one then rearranged it to suit what he wanted to do. He came 2nd in the rap battle but they were so impressed by him and the fact that he took it upon himself to rearrange the beat, they called him up anyway and signed him then and there. He’s a GENIUS! 💜

@@swainmoneyyYou will often hear ARMY call him “Savage Suga”. Actions like these are a main reason why. He comes across as quiet and chill, but can be really BOLD when you least expect it and in his own unique style, like deliberately stop rapping to prove they’re not lip-syncing and loudly hitting the piano keys at a concert to shut up haters claiming it was pre-recorded.

I forgot to mention, JK is often on Weverse. Because he misses Army. So he goes live to answer questions, sing songs and 6 million viewers watched him sleep during the scammys. Scammys had no where near as viewers. As for V singing R& B, got to watch when BTS came to America to " learn" more Hip Hop. Got many Army angry, on how they got treated. Yet BTS did meet some awesome people. One was a lady, who sang Gospels. V was the one who she worked with. She brought his R&B voice.

30:58 he uses hope on the street in the context of street dance a lot, he used to practice freestyle dancing on live, it was called hope on the street. Then in 2023 he released his single "on the street". This month he'll be releasing his docuseries "Hope on the street" where he'll travel around the world with dancers to street dance and just revisit his roots. He'll also be releasing his album "Hope on the street vol. 1" along with the docuseries, which will also be about his roots which is street dance. the title track is called "neuron", his dance crew when he was a street dancer

New Sub here. I can tell you were genuine with your reaction and thats all Army ask for. If you continue on with your BTS journey, dont worry if you keep mixing the members up. One rule of thumb you learn is never go by their hair colour because they all used to swap and change all the time lol My method was trying to recognise the rappers first as there are only 3. Each have their own style. I find J-Hope more of a meodic rap. RM has the deeper voice and i find Suga is more savage. Also height is a good indicator. RM is tallest in the group, Suga is the shortest and J-Hope is kind of in the middle

"Visual" is a "role" that is common amongst Kpop groups. Usually saying their looks are like model status. For example, Tzuyu is the visual of Twice, Jisoo is the visual of BlackPink, Jin is the visual of BTS, Hyunjin of Stray Kids, etc.

The video shows them in the order they signed with Big Hit/Hybe. RM and Suga never competed against each other. Also, while they debuted in 2013, the group started forming in 2010 and JungKook was 13 when he signed and moved to Seoul.
@sinevins8 ай бұрын
no it shows the order they were made apart of the group, or should I say, signed as a member of BTS, because remember RM himself, has stated that jhope signed with Big Hit before him. Just thinking you weren't aware. But yes, jhooe was actually the first one in the group who signed with Big Hit as a trainee, I think for his dancing especially, can't say for sure, don't remember exactly what I had read, but that would be my guess, and I think thats what was written. But anyways....lol just wanted to try and help you get the correct info. 😊

RM joined first, in the summer of 2010, followed by Suga later that year. Then came J-hope, Jin, Jungkook and V through 2011, although V was hidden from the public until just before their debut in June 2013 (possibly in case he was poached by another company). Jimin was the last to join, in the second half of 2012, so his training period was pretty short. Jungkook was almost 14 when he joined the dorm and 15 when they debuted. Up until 2023 Korea used an age counting system which made them 1 or 2 years older than their international age.
@sinevins8 ай бұрын
I think this is all correct if you say that this is the order they joined the group, not the irder in which they joined the company. Because remember jhope was the first to sign a contract with Big Hit as a trainee. But like I said besides that, looks good👍
@miyuryuu72608 ай бұрын
Jhope said, he joined BTS in 2010, not 2011 (but not really far from 2011 tho lol). He came to BTS dorm at 25th dec 2010, and it was Suga who opened the door for him when he arrived (the first one he meet at dorm)
@sinevins8 ай бұрын
@@miyuryuu7260 Yes, thats sounds about right, if I remember correctly. Not sure what your point is though . Because like I said, jhope was the first to join the company as a trainee, so he was infact the first one under contract at the company. I didn't say he was the first to join the group. These are two different things. But like RM said himself, jhope had already signed a contract with Big Hit, even before he had.
@Mark-vj7zd8 ай бұрын
@@miyuryuu7260 thanks for the clarification. I knew it was around the turn of the year but I wasn’t sure whether he’d just signed to BigHit at that stage, or was definitely in the BTS project, so I opted on the safe side.

@@sinevins i am talking about Jhope joined as BTS member, he came to BTS dorm on christmas night 2010. He said that at interview also at BTS official book Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS. So idk why u mentioned to me about him being trainee coz i didnt talking about his trainee time or about when he joined bighit. I was talking about when he joined BTS as member. They are all well known embassadors for Calvin Klein, Celine, Dior etc.....and they stay humble. RM and Suga are the 2 that says it like it is - JK started telling some haters where to get off in his lives last year - and oh my, the night JK sang "unholy" live, he had more people streaming his live than the Grammys on the same night......now that tells us a lot - RESPECT!! Thank you for this video, I was never into K-Pop until recently. My interest started with Stray Kids , as my daughter is a huge fan of them. So I'm kind of going backwards with learning about other groups. Obviously I was familiar with the name BTS, but never had an interest in the music! I appreciate learning about all the groups, I love learning about how talented, fun & lovable the young men of BTS are. I think the most important thing about these groups, besides their music, is how much they all love and care about their members! We should all be so lucky to have such devoted friends in our lives. Started out as a STAY & beginning to be an ARMY
