Laurence Olivier (who became Lord Olivier in 1971) was a very well known English actor, director and producer. He won four Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, five Emmys and two British Acadamy Of Film Awards, amongst many other accolades. His career spanned from the 1920s to the 1980s. He was a star of the stage, movies and TV and was, at one point, director at The National Theatre and, at another point, The Old Vic. He’s widely considered to have been the greatest actor Britain ever produced and, to actors of a certain generation, he was the one to aspire to be like. For a British actor to be compared favourably to Olivier would be about the best compliment they could receive. I was fortunate enough to see Miriam Margolyes as Mrs Hardcastle in She Stoops To Conquer in the late 90s. She’s truly a very fine actor, and I admire her greatly. But she’s also known for telling slightly outrageous stories in which she often gives too much information about herself - things that may be best kept private! I suspect she deliberately does this to shock, which sometimes makes her look a bit like an attention seeker and I sometimes think may be a very easy way to get quick laughs. I sometimes wish she wouldn’t do that as she’s better than that. At the same time, however, I can’t deny that her stories are funny! It’s worth watching the clip from the episode with Will I Am. It’s another “too much information” story, but the look on Will’s face is priceless. Thank you once again for a great reaction. That raucous laugh can pierce through even the most darkest of times and put a bit of joy into all our lives.

This is one of the great things about the Graham Norton Show. You can get away with more on UK TV than you can on US TV. And Graham is brilliant at getting his guests to open up and let loose. So it's always funny to see American guests getting shocked like this, or letting themselves go and forgetting where they are so they do and say stuff they normally wouldn't. Miriam's a national treasure, she's hilarious.

My favourite Miriam Margoyles moment (outside of her appearances in Blackadder which are hilarious) was a year ago where she was being interviewed on a morning BBC radio show about something and the interview was coming to an end and one of the radio presenters made some comment about a UK government politician, who'd been promoted to a top job in the wake of months of complete political chaos that caused an economic meltdown, who she'd just met in the corridor outside the radio booth and she said said something like 'Oh yes I said "good luck to you" but what I was really thinking was "Fuck you!! Arsehole!"...' at which point the radio presenters went into full panic mode about the swearing live on air about the number 2 person in Government while all over the UK and on Twitter people were just wetting themselves with laughter and congratulating her for saying what most of us were thinking. She's a national treasure... 😄

Miriam is such a character. Completely unfiltered and unabashed. She lives in Australia now, in regional NSW I think, and has done some TV series travelling around OZ, also the US. One of my favourite roles of hers, also my first exposure to her, was Lady Whiteadder, Edmunds mother in Blackadder 2, another classic british comedy with Rowan Atkinson. That's something else you should react to someday. She's in the episode called 'beer'. Graham Norton is an absolute treasure trove of great stories and anecdotes. I like how you basically created your own compilation. Great stuff, more of that. 👏 👍 Oh yeah, Ron Howard (the guy sitting next to Stephen Fry) Regarding interesting lives and stories etc. I bet you do have some interesting stories and experiences to share, most people do if you get out there in the world and are open to experiences and stuff, they may just not know it. I have all kinds of fun and interesting stories and experiences, even just from things like online gaming. After one of Miriams stories, my anecdote from Sea of Thieves about vaginal discharge comes to mind😅, ( people do love that story). It's true that some people are naturally better story tellers than others. And of course, I guess people are going to be more interested if you happen to be famous. You're a bit famous.

I just love your content. Your reactions are just ... natural. It's a reaction that should be expected to the content, but still so great to see live (which is why we watch :) ) Also, you could probably do an entire channel dedicated to Graham Norton Show reactions. Ireland is divided into two categories (in my opinion ;) ) those who love Graham Norton, and those who hate Graham Norton, but secretely think he's great. The show works so well because of the formula. It's very simple ... Give the guests alcohol (of their choice) Get them all on at the same time Do NOT have a desk to seperate host from guests Do NOT get in the way ... let them chat to each other addendums ... keep the drinks topped up (if requested) and don't get in the way of the guests. Look for the episode with Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville. It's gold. Just because it's so real. Sorry about the long letter!! Keep doing what you do :) You ask how these people have such stories .. again (in my opinion), it's because they approach life head-on. Deal with shit as it happens. Mostly, it works out. When it doesn't, they have these geat stories to tell ...

13:13 Is that Ron Howard from The Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days? That lady's a character. Right. Some people are just, I guess the word would be "lucky," to have bizarre life stories. Like they have a life to talk about. As opposed to me, where my life has pretty much been "wake up in the morning, go to bed at night." MY bizarre stories are more like that long pee story I told you about in one of your streams, some months ago, or the one about a month ago when I mentioned the time I was sick for so long. And, I still have more stories like that.

I think the nervous American who almost walked off is Stanley Tucci.

I'd like to suggest to you an Australian comedian called Jimmy Rees. He has a lot of KZbin videos (it's what he does) but I'd suggest 2 of his more recent series, They Wouldn't Let Me Into ... in which he has a dig at various cities around Australia, plus Auckland, New Zealand. His other recent series I really like is The Guy Who Decides ... Start with Australian Football Rules, Cricket, The World Cup or Superbowl. Don't worry, you don't need to be a sports fan to enjoy these.

24:46 Yeah, there's plenty of great stories to watch on the Graham Norton Show. Oh! Do watch the Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Hugh Bonneville episode in full, it's one of the craziest! The anglovirtual channel has it uploaded in two parts. 🥺🙏
