After shagging and a conventional cigarette afterwards, though they do casually skin up joints throughout the series which then was unusual, without comment or a plot point.

Paper boy, Tony Way, was also in Black Books. “I see it as a reference to Christo, the artist”. “Really? I see it as a waste of Baco, the foil”… Christo was a 60s pop artist, famous/notorious for wrapping huge things like the German Reichstag and miles of Australian coastline! 🤔 Bacofoil is a UK brand of oven foil equivalent to Reynolds Wrap.

There's a funny story Nick Frost tells where in this show he needed to be able to disassemble and reassemble a gun blindfolded so he took the prop home to practice. He was wearing headphones so he could focus on the feel of the gun as he tore it down and built it back up and when he took off the blindfold he was surrounded by armed police. Someone had seen him taking the gune in to his house and reported him. The way he tells it, the police told him if he had moved they were going to shoot him

The scene with the fridge (called Kal 900) was from 'A Space Odyssey' during which the ships computer (HAL 900) became 'self aware'. Interesting fact, they got the name HAL from IBM which was a pioneering computer company (letters are shifted down one, I becomes H and so on).
@jeanlafayette71522 сағат бұрын
The scriptwriter and director have both denied the IBM thing. The official explanation is that HAL was derived from the term 'Heuristic Algorithm'.
